| My favorite character in this series as of now is just the town itself - the melancholy and nostalgia of a half-abandoned place, with vast swathes of it overrun and reclaimed by nature. My main problem with this series is how the "robot" in question, Atri, might as well be a human - incompetent at virtually every task shown, drooling...even having to brush artificial teeth? I didn't know anything about and never heard a single word of this series until looking into the summer seasonals a few weeks before the actual season started, and when I did, this was the series I happened to see and become interested in watching first, and only after saw Boku no Tsuma wa Kanjou ga Nai and figured I'd watch it too as like an afterthought, even though I already had one robot-themed romance series planned. But I have to say that from everything seen thus far that I find that series overall and the portrayal of Mina, an advanced robot, there much more compelling. It seems and feels logical and plausible, and therefore more interesting. I can't see the motive or incentive behind why robots like Atri would be designed unless humans literally ran out of everything else more purposeful to design and build and were just sitting around with infinite time and money. I'm just not a huge fan of these series where it comes across like the robots being robots is just something used cosmetically to seem exotic and the differences at a fundamental physical level aren't taken into account or just hand-waived away so they're more just like extra obedient or polite humans. I get that it's maybe going for a more cartoony rather than hard Sci-Fi portrayal, but still...Like if they don't have real meaningful and practical, functional physical differences in a way that intertwines sufficiently with the plot, what's the point beyond a superficial gimmick? |

| It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it, is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service. |

| There's actually some of them. Used mostly in overhead shots. Kinda jarring, because it mostly a still-shots with bare minimum of animation, and i personally doesn't see a reason, why they're needed to use cgi in those scenes, 'cause they're oblivously not budget-hefty. |

@GenesisAria Atri's neural network has corrupted, deleted, incomplete or locked data. It knows it is a high performance Artificial Intelligence gynoid the same way my computer knows its hardware specifications. What or who will repair or restore such data and how it will happen is the story and I am in.
It seems Mina is more of a Philosophical Zombie than Atri. The story hints Atri to be eccentric -- maybe sentient. Anyway, both Atri and Mina are running Jean Baudrillard's Simulation concept.

I never read the book, but i'm taking a quick dive into various peoples' interpretations of it to get the gist of what it's about... Immediately i'm pretty sure i'm figuring out exactly what the book is about, and one aspect is similar to Tesla's quote about getting lost in sciences and mathematics, losing touch on what reality actually is, and instead being stuck in a surrogate space of conceptual representation; a perceptual simulation rather than a literal one, and the closer you attempt to make something represent or replicate the real, the further it gets in reality because it replaces reality with a delusion that is similar... Not entirely sure how it relates to this story at this time tho. |

| So, I'm old. I've been watching anime for 25 years at least, and I know a few things. This ends in tragedy, mark my words. Some really dark shit is coming, I'm certain of it. I know how this works. KEY pioneered this shit. Introduce dude with sad background. He meets an adorable girl, who is a ball of energy who deserved love and hugs.... and then awful stuff will start happening to her so the writers can feed on our misery. Just you wait. |

Help an aging Japanese society. Emotional support too whether it is missing loved ones or having none to begin with. These kind of robots you would see in hospitals and nursing homes for example. There is a whole field of robotics about this called social robotics. Also people make robots as a hobby so it's not like it has to be about money. Seeing her as an object at this point makes it easier for that to occur. It also conveys a sort of whimsy how society technologically advanced yet still is at mercy of nature's wrath. |

| A robot that is supposed to always obey the orders given, can actually reject the orders from the Master. Atri can even disagree with Natsuki about herself being sold. This shows that Atri is truly high-performance, with her consciousness like a human. Oh yeah, what happened to Atri at the end? Does she have trauma with school? I don't think so... |

| Atri's so adorable. Need to know more about the other character backgrounds. Pretty chill stuff with the three and we saw a bit more about their situation and surroundings. OP song had some concerning visuals. |

| This anime is really good. I need to read the visual novel in one of these days... So the school is also underwater in some level. I don't know why, but I feel like Atri is hiding the truth to Natsuki, Minamo and Catherine... Or maybe I am wrong xD Nice OP and ED, really brightful. And I hope the two other characters will add even more to the story. |

| I generally dislike characters like the MC that act like a cunt for 0 real reasons, not sure Atri's personality is particularly remarkable either. Guess they come up with some backstory to back them up, but problem is I probably wouldn't ever be able to get into the romance. |
