| Huh..I never imagined watching the characters trying to figure out a hot cocoa mystery would be so engaging to watch. I also really like the little details, like how careful Kengo was while holding the tray of hot cocoa cups and him licking the remains of the plastic wrap of the cake. |

| The school criticizing Osanai for getting her bike stolen pissed me off, first the pie last episode, now this, reality stinks. This show is so good, they really kept me engaged over how this bum ass Kengo made hot cocoa. This is also the second time Kengo interrupted Osanai and Kobato's cake time. He really copied the instructions on the packaging and pass it off as his own recipe lmao, Osanai laughing at it was funny. Kengo can fuck odd, but I'd gladly want to see Chisato onee-san again. Even more curious now about this promise to become ordinary. I am looking forward to more mundane, ordinary cases to solve. |

| something about this show being them just solving mundane mysteries is really interesting, the visuals as well are amazing to the point it rivals some films this could possibly be my AOTS (not counting Monogatari since I don’t think any show can top that) |

| first i have to say i love the shades of their eye colours. very nicee looking. second. the whole cocoa mistery... my god. WHO microwaves it like that?! and i am pretty sure thats now how you eat the cake with the foil around it. XD but okay. He was like a little kid at the end and it was kinda cute. hehe. overall a fun episode for me. :3 |

Can’t believe I watched an episode entirely dedicated to solving how Kengo made hot cocoa and enjoyed every second of it. Bro is a psycho for microwaving an entire box of milk. Only the studio that made Undead Girl Murder Farce could make a dialogue episode like this enjoyable, 😂.
Kengo’s sister was awesome and I love how she bounced off Yuki and Kobato. Who would’ve ever imagined there could be so many possible ways to make hot chocolate, the combinations are almost endless lol.
Kobato doing the absolute cinema pose is definitely going to be a meme and the studio knew what they were going for there! Pretty cool how there’s no intricate backstory or reason for him wanting to be ordinary, dude just wants a chill life.
I still don’t get why they’d try and blame Yuki for getting her bike stolen because it was at the scene of a crime.. victim blaming is insane there. At least she got some cake in the end though!

| This anime becomes much more interesting if you imagine that the twist is that the protagonist was replaced with a skinwalker during middle school. That explains the change in his behavior and desperate attempts to stay normal (so that nobody catches up with it). |

| What a boring episode. 1st one was so much better IMO. An episode about nothing basically. Osanai got her bike but got lectured for "letting it get stolen" basically. Just wow... Compared to Hyouka, the "mystery" in this episode was lame at best. To be honest, both MCs felt like robots pretending to be humans. I didn't have that impression after episode 1. I think this show is for people like Chitanda (form Hyouka), who get curious easily; or make up mysteries out of thin air. Dunno, hopefully next episodes will be better. FFS, there's only 10 of them and 1 was wasted like this. |

| Another great episode and a visual treat. Anyway, it seems that Kobato is not being true to himself. He wants to become ordinary, but he solves puzzles in spite of it. It is reinforced by the visuals. |
| Yeah I also didn't think it would be that interesting to watch an episode on how someone made hot cocoa and didn't get the sink wet but it kind of was. Regarding Kengo asking Kobato about what changed, I think Kobato doesn't want to talk about it for whatever reason but I agree with Kengo that something did change. |
| SO, is the plot of this supposed to be a bunch of very clearly autistic kids trying to pretend they're not?? Cause as someone autistic I can say this is is gotta be like, aimed at the neurotypical gaze or something because it's painfully boring so far. It's actually sad seeing how much of a budget the animation has for a story like this. |

| One thing this is definitely missing so far that made Hyouka work so well is contrasting personalities between the two main leads. Chitanda in Hyouka serves as an energetic, bubbly contrast to Oreki as well as a means of pulling him into the investigations and more socialisation to begin with. But it doesn't work quite as well when both your main characters are very low-key individuals who don't seem overly motivated by anything at all: so far both episodes have relied on another character to get these two to engage in the mystery rather than the characters themselves choosing to engage in solving the mystery. It's still been a pretty good start, but they're gonna need to find something to mix this formula up as we progress and to give our two main characters more, well, "character". |
| 1. Bike stolen, cakes wasted. No follow up action, swiped under the rug for future detective something most likely. 2. Is Kobato a pet? Why he goes Kengo when he orders so? Is 'no' not an option? 3. Screen time wasted solved cocoa mystery. Could be good if not 'the solution'. First of all, boiling milk is one of the hardest things in the universe. This liquid spills instantly. Tall container in microwave? Non transparent to control visually at least? Welcome to disaster. Wet everything not just sink. Second. No educated person would put boiling hot anything to the fridge. Basically. So much idiosyncrasy for trying to present something smart. |

| I was so focused on the mystery of how someone had prepared hot chocolate—this is cinema. But what Kengo did is criminal! Who puts a milk container in the microwave and then puts it back in the refrigerator while it's still hot? Isn’t it bad to put hot things in the fridge? Also, milk containers have aluminum inside. Well, anyway, he was just following instructions. I love this anime. It's amazing how something so simple and silly can keep you so engaged, accompanied by subtle jokes, beautiful animation, and characters with great chemistry. It’s fantastic. |
