Man, the village chief is on another level when compared to Fate. He's lucky he offered Fate a chance to train.

Myne is now Fate's traveling companion but it seems she gets hungry so often. This episode also had Fate face off against an enemy who can control the dead. From a story point of view, this was a more emotional episode from the village chief's point of view though. I do hope Fate learned a lesson from all this experience.

I was expecting more Myne this episode but oh well.

Aaron, a seasoned swordsman whom Fate happened to encounter in a village Fate unexpectedly visited. Aaron, who is also the village chief, used to be a holy knight. He offered to them me stay if he was willing to receive his guidance. Without hesitation, he accepted Fate. Meanwhile, Fate found himself in a state of semi-starvation and decided to head towards Hauser's castle, where the smell of monsters lingered. With Aaron, who seemed to have some undisclosed circumstances, Fate set out to subdue the monsters infesting Hauser. There, he encountered Aaron's family, who were supposed to be dead.

Hearing Aaron speak with Dio's voice feels oddly out of place, yet strangely magnificent, especially considering his lich lord stats—surpassing a whopping three million, if you can believe it. However, this episode gave off a filler vibe in my opinion. It seems like we won't be encountering Aaron again anytime soon; this seemed more like a brief pitstop. Regardless, the revelation about Fate's demise has finally come to light. What steps will they take next?

And then there's Myne, who has piqued my interest for the time being.

This episode is a little bit special that they use real father-son voice actors to voice father-son characters.

Teased a little about Myne's history and a nice story. Would've liked to see a little more action but decent episode. Feels like the pacing might be a little fast but that's not necessarily new.

Fate continuing on his journey along with Myne as they pass through this village. Meeting an elderly holy knight named Aaron. The village is definitely prospering despite being in the middle of nowhere and seeming to not have any external value that would make it worth protecting. Aaron has just settled here helping these
people, later on learning about his own tragic backstory. He can also use the same identify skill that Fate can and sees his stats. I'm surprised that Aaron didn't fully figure our Fate secret especially after the eye color change. Fate definitely needed the training he got this episode, suddenly becoming stronger but not knowing how it utilize that strength can hold you back. Aaron could teach Fate how to apply his strength well. Going to the place where Aaron family lived before it was taken over by monsters to stop this lich king, an illusion is Aaron family nearly stumped him but he broke through. Fate and Aaron dealing with the lich king easily after that. The other corrupt holy Knights back home now know of their brother being killed by this corpse warrior so they will be on the lookout for him.

So the overpowered stats of Fate are actually non-existent if he doesn't have the skills needed to use them. lol
Now that's worrying.
Then their stats are off the charts, it's like a Holy Knights' level 100 is a hundred or a thousand times more than your average person. Their numbering system is weird.
This series really lacks the world building I was hoping for, especially, their stats are just a lump of numbers without definition.

Overall, I finally get to enjoy the OP again with a side story that's actually more rewarding than what it's usually worth.
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

Way too rushed and pacing is all over the place. Too convenient that he just happens upon some dude that trains him and all that jazz. Painfully predictable that I just skipped along and nothing important was skipped, it's the same shit as many others. 0/10

man, Aaron was such a cool dude. i wonder why he said he has something to say but only after fate finishes what he has to do. how long will that be? if it's so important why wait? myne still remains a mystery, eating up all of dude's food and getting mad just because they were late coming back? i feel like aaron should be getting paid, not the other way around. i hope that whole kingdom isn't dead but it looks like it probably is.

@Dukino i think he knew all along and that's why he said what he did at the end. Aaron is no slouch but he does what he thinks is necessary at the time. i really do feel like he knows about myne and fate a lot more than you would think. it was actually a really moving moment though when fate picked up his son's sword for a combo grand cross and then not letting aaron's goodbye get interrupted, i almost cried. i have to change my score for this show.

That’s pretty cool that the father and son were actually father and son irl. Their seiyuus are an actual father son duo. Bittersweet farewell at the end there. Messed up that he couldn’t save his family, but at least they were finally able to be set free and rest in peace.

I wonder what Aaron wants to tell fate. We got a little bit of Myne’s backstory teased in this one as well. Looking forward to more of that

This was the only good episode of this anime, it was very basic but still infinitely better than anything that came before, for we got cool temporary character with relatable story for once, that made decisions which made sense and had just enough mistery about him to not be obnoxious. Sadly this also means there will not be another good episode, because it is clearly not the norm. Everything in it was good except the fights, they were budget even for budget anime.

I give it 5 from 5 stars while rating rest of this anime 2/5

If only.. the whole anime was as good as this one episode, If someone made me watch just this episode I'd rate whole anime 9/10 my real rating is 5/10 tho, it is as average as anime gets. It is like any of those mobile phone game based isekais that people forget about right as it stops airing with convenient generic story where everything falls in to mc's hand just in right time and characters are not 2d but 1d.(Got the joke? I talk about the content of characters instead of visual dimensions which is hugely smart and leads to great laughs in my office)

I was little bit confused by the servant at the end, because It could be the warrior from this episode after using hairbrush, they look like clones. Maybe they are identical brothers or something.

Maybe they just draw every old man the same, but it is rather suspicious how close these 2 are, every wrinkle is the same, will future episodes have clone-wars storyline? Put suit and use hairbrush on the warrior and it is literally him. The only argument against that would be perhaps eye color but we see many characters change eye color in this anime and it is not detailed shot.

Too bad Fate hasn't caught up to Roxy yet but this new character, Aaron, has caught my eye especially when at the end he said to Fate to come see him after he's done with his mission. It makes me wonder if Aaron has something that can help Fate regarding his gluttony condition.

Nice to see someone expose Fate as weak despite his stats. I guess the stats are more like a potential of power rather than an absolute or execution.

The escape from Lanchester has both Fate and Myne, or rather the latter wandering into a village breaming with life: the Hausen village and its mayor, a holy knight strong enough to defeat Fate as he is. The old man knows of Fate's weaknesses to give him both a free stay and training, and as suspicious as it sounds, he accepts Aaron Barbatos's training to better envelope his powers. As much as Myne goes around consuming stuff to fight off her Sin, Fate looks too much like Aaron's son, which explains why. The castle which used to be where Aaron stood, it is now home to a Crowned Beast: the lich lord, Genesis of Death.

Going to explore the former Hausen castle filled with undead, for Aaron to find both his son Luke and wife Tiana still living, they are definitely not living and is rather, an illusion. Sadly, Fate can't use Greed's Scythe, for there will be no salvation, so this is left to Aaron to settle his family while Fate deals with the rest. Eventually, with the defeat of the Genesis of Death, both Luke and Tiana are saved through salvation. The decimation lands are not over, and though Myne lost her chance to go berserk, she is given a partial sum of the rewards, as Aaron knowing Myne from 50 years ago as a warrior.

As the truth shines on the Vlerick family about Corpse a.k.a Fate, nothing but anger sprouts from there.

WTF

A Holy Knight that isn't EVIL? ? ?

Also, the old dude knows what skills Fate's using? HUH?

And the old dude starts training Fate...

.

Also... I just realized Fate and Myne shares a room, with Myne pretty much takes all her cloth off but underwear when going to bed... how is Fate not feeling anything?

And apparently Myne isn't "monster starved" but rather "actual food starved" where she's the "real" Gluttony that eats bunch of food... LOL

.

No wonder they lost, that Lich Lord's stats, dang... and level 100, actual Boss, lol.

But still no match for Fate and Greed's OP-ness.

.

Tho I also just realized... the old dude was probably send to fight dangerous fights cause he's actually Good like Roxy... the King and the other evil Holy Knights are pretty much trying to kill off all the good Holy Knights.

I bet the Lich Lord was most likely summoned by the King. Cause what's the coincidence that the Lich Lord appeared just as the old guy left on the mission?

.

Also... Myne... 50+ YEARS OLD? so is the sin-holders going to be immortal? (like how the series keeps on throwing "gaining immortality" every few episodes...)

So everyone killed by Fate's sword is trapped in it to be tormented forever. Definitely Berserk!

Fate and Aaron's revenge quest on the lich was very cool. With the way he was tormenting Aaron's family and staff long after their deaths, he deserves to be trapped in a similar fate.

Bit of a major plothole that the writers or mangas i guess threw away.
Fate gained the conceal skill in episode 2 from the dude who kidnapped the girl so how come the old dude was able to identify him xD
