You are welcome to rest in my humble abode (profile). I am just an ordinary student, one who is a casual anime aficionado. ↑↑↑That is my current situation btw.↑↑↑ Currently "preparing" for one of the toughest exams in the world. (I am cooked🔥😭)(Wish me luck). I don’t even know what it means, but apparently (according to some website) my personality type is ISFP-T and I’m an Adventurer. Supposedly even Michael Jackson is an ‘Adventurer’. I am a lazy and lethargic sloth capable of pretty much doing nothing except warm my chair. I am introverted around people other than a few of my close friends. I also am very pessimistic about pretty much everything. I was introduced to and taught about anime a little from YouTube, but mostly from my bestfriend, guide and Senpai, who I unfortunately, tragically lost during 2021🕊️. I actually started watching anime back during the lockdown, but I have watched TV series like Doraemon, Crayon Shin Chan, Tottemo Luckyman, Kiteretsu Daihyakka, Monster Kid, Ninja Hattori, Ultra B, Perman, Beyblade, and a lot more during my childhood. The one I hold closest to my heart and of which I have always been a huge fan of, is Pokémon. I also joined MAL somewhere during 2020. I am not a serious watcher by any means; just a casual one trying his best to enjoy every piece of media he consumes. CHILDHOOD CLASSICS Criteria: My ratings are mostly instinctual. But if I had to say, my ratings take enjoyment, a critical viewpoint and rarely nostalgia into consideration. Most of my ratings vary from 6 to 10, as 1-5 are basically the same for me. A 6 or 7 can be considered as average. I don’t rate all anime by the same standards. Genre-based rating is the way to go. Inferno Cop doesn’t need Ufotable-level animation and Hiroyuki Sawano soundtracks for me to give it a 10. I believe that 6-8 is an Ideal Mean Score. I hate people whose Mean Scores lie beyond that range. Anything below 6 just means the user doesn’t like to enjoy stuff in their life. Anything above 8 tells that pretty much anything, art or bullcrap, can appeal to that user. Although I am pretty kind while rating, here are the general ‘rules’ for me: 10⭐: Absolute Goddamned MASTERPIECE. It either means that this series was great and well-balanced at everything; animation, soundtrack, OPs, character design, world-building, storytelling, enjoyment etc. or that only a few of its factors were absolutely fantastic and made it stand out and become unique for me. If a series does exceptionally well at its respective genre, it will get this rating. 9⭐: Near-Masterpiece. This rating is often given to series which I can rate a 10 based solely on enjoyment, but my critic side holds me back. They are near-perfect with very minor flaws, or a certain aspect made them stand out but not as much as a series with a 10. There are many entries in my list which I loved enough to rate a 10 but I just felt like something was missing which in turn made them a 9. A series which is a 9/10 can still be in my favorites. 8⭐: A Great Anime. Definitely has many strong points, but also a few weak points. It isn’t anything extraordinarily special, but still worth watching. It’s either that the series was a little underwhelming as compared to others from its genre which I rated higher or I just don’t see it deserving anything higher than 8. A lot of my 8/10s are critically rated lower but I just don’t want to be guilty of enjoying them yet giving a low score. 7⭐: Average. A large number of my entries have been rated 7. The amount of 7/10s in my list exceeds the amount of 1-6/10s lol. Such a series can get boring at times, doesn’t really do anything to stand out but it’s not like you can point out any major flaws either. Just there in between, kind of mid sometimes. 6⭐: Below-Average. This is where I set the bar. If I watch the first episode of an anime, I will usually give it a 6/10 unless it’s something really good. This is ‘a little below average’ for me. Often contains series which had great potential but fell off, or those with a great idea but poor execution. You’ll also find series here which I randomly watched for no reason at all, other than to fill my stats lol. 5⭐: Disappointment. This means the series looked great at first, but disappointed later. It also includes the random mid music videos and all of that stuff. I wouldn’t actually bother to watch a series if it constantly gives 5/10 vibes right from the beginning. These anime are usually boring throughout. I might’ve watched the episodes at 1.5x speed. 4⭐: List-Filler Anime. Extremely generic, trash genre and the story basically progresses nowhere. Sometimes even worse, there IS NO story. I might have watched the episodes at 2x speed and 8 of them at once on a single screen. 3⭐: Straight up Trash. Either disgusting, a snore fest or just literal dogshit. Anything rated a 3 or below, I have most probably dropped. 2⭐: Glorified 1/10. Basically a 1/10, but maybe I felt merciful, or it’s a classic case of ‘so bad that it’s good’. 1⭐: Ex-Arm. Ex-Arm level, utter shame to humanity. Such a preposterous disappointment shouldn’t exist. I am not a manga collector, I just like buying cheap manga. For me the philosophy is Physical Reading >> e-Reading. And that also applies to manga. So if I can avoid reading on my phone/PC, I will even buy the most dogcrap quality manga known to mankind just so that I can read it physically. Of course I like good quality manga; I mean who doesn't, but the priority for it being an actual book is a little higher for me lol. There's also the factor of budget so I can't just spend thousands on some books. I don't own that many manga right now, it's just a small collection but I am constantly expanding it. Here are the Manga that I own: 1. Pokémon Adventures Vols. 1-14 2. One Piece Vols. 1-24 (except volumes 16,17 & 18, the rest are Omnibus Editions) 3. Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku Vol. 1 4. Tokyo Ghoul Vols. 1-14 (2 copies each of Vols. 1 & 2) 5. Jujutsu Kaisen Vol. 8 6. I Want to Eat Your Pancreas Complete Edition 7. Your Name LN 8. Heaven Official's Blessing: Tian Guan Ci Fu Novels Vols. 1-5 9. Fire Punch Vols. 1-8 10. Kaiju No. 8 Vols. 1,2 & 3 11. Kizumonogatari (Wound Tale) from Monogatari Series: First Season LN Most of these are not at all in a proper order; they're just jumbled as hell. Also, and obviously, each section of panels will contain MASSIVE SPOILERS for that particular series. These panels are my favourite due to a variety of reasons: exceptional art, crucial moments, great dialogues etc. 🌟KAIJU NO. 8: 🌟FIRE PUNCH: Even though I didn't like this manga, I have to admit that there are a few panels that I liked.
