Tanjiro was so badass! And a sob story about a character I previously disliked that made me at least tolerate them is all the more wellcome. The cliffhanger tho

Ah yes yes we know that Tanjiro will not gonna finished the demon no need to end it with suspicion like that.

Jesus who thought it would idea to always end the eposide with that clifhanger even though we already knew the outcome (and no I didn't read the manga it's just they follow this pattern for as long as I remember).
You shouldn't talk like this ,ds fanboys get hurt very easily, I'm sure someone would argue with you because of your comments.
Don't expect anything other than fight scenes and also keep your expectations very low regarding final fight otherwise in that area also , you'll be disappointed.
But don't tell these things to ds fans, they would go as far as to declare you a most Stupid person on earth because you didn't understand the bad writing of DS.

muichiro was literally in the ep and mitsuri was no where in these chapters for the episode so what does that have to do with directing??

Muichiro literally had close-to-zero screen time. What I’m pointing out is the pointless introduction of Mitsuri during the previous episode if they just were gonna concentrate on the main battle for the following episode. From a cinematographic point of view it looks like a useless cliffhanger that kills the interest of the whole fight and the characters involved, I don’t know whether for manga’s this works, but in tv series I’ve never seen anything like it, and yeah I struggle to understand the idea the director had

well without spoiling all i can tell you is that they introduced her earlier so that she could just come in and do her business when the real villain shows up which is next ep. Also muichiro screen time was just mean to show the viewer that hes still dealing with upm 5 hence why he cant be of any help.

Amazing episode once again, with a nice bit of backstory to boot.

I also feel like people are ignoring a crazy new reveal: Tanjiro has just used SEVERAL Hinokami Kagura techniques in a row and doesn't even appear tired. His fights against Gyutaro and Yoriichi-0 seem to REALLY have powered him up.

Wow a lot of action in the begin of the episode. Tokitou still behind held in the vase water but he has a plan, I just feel it. Tanjiro realized that there's a 5th demon and send Genya after him, wow he's tiny lmao.

We got a lot of backstory from when Genya was still a child, he hadn't that easy growing up since his shit father beat their mom up the whole time while the mom worked from day till night, without any sleep and to make their children happy. It broke my heart when I saw the mom turn into a demon and kill all the children in-front of Genya, but Genya didn't realize it until later when his big brother brought the mom to sunlight to make a end to it. Tanjiro is giving Genya a lot of courage and saying to not give up, so he jumped in-front of Tanjiro and told him to run after the tiny demon. Tanjiro is now face to face with the tiny demon.

A rather emotional and action packed episode what left us on a cliffhanger, or some sort.

Genya's backstory was quite tragic. Couldn't fathom the emotions that Genya's brother had to go through to protect his brother. At the expense of killing their mother.
That must've been traumatizing.

Genya's gun is really helpful eh? Even filled with holes he can still regenerate, that's cool. And Tanjiro's fire breathing is finally here in full force! I can't wait to see how this will end - or if there's more to the demons than it seems, since the hashiras aren't here yet!

Honestly i didnt care or more like i kinda disliked Genya ever since he showed in season 1 and then when he showed up again this season, but after this episode my view on him has turned a 180! he is so incredibly cool and his backstory was really well done! besides Genya, this episode was still really good and the fact there was a 5th demon which was incredibly small was something i was not expecting at all but i thought it was so clever and loved it. anyways this is a 10/10 once again.

Boring episode in general, the current battle feels drawn out and this season doesn´t seems to be able to take off yet... They overextend the flashbacks with unnecessary information too much on this series, it´s like they try to copy Saint Seiya but are not subtle enough in it´s execution to create a truly emotional impact. For example we see the mother turned demon killing the siblings, it was impactful and raw scene and one could tell right from the start by the silhouette that it resembled his mother but then Genya gotta have another flashback right after that scene recapping everything that happened? It became redundant and the spectator could tell moment we saw the killing, there def was no need to double on it, almost felt like they had to explain it for their dumber or younger viewers but what it actually achieved was to weaken the scene.

Another good episode but I didn't really care about that flashback, I'm just not too invested in that character to give a rat's ass about his flashback and the flashback is not even that emotional, to begin with, I find Naruto's flashback way better and I'm not even a Naruto fan anymore, but other than that, the episode was good. The previous episode was better though.

And there we go, those Upper-Moons are tricky as hell to kill, to kill that demon you need some strategy and teamwork, a single Hashira will have a hard time beating him, you can kill those 4 decoys all day and it won't die until you find the real demon that is hidden and while you try to find that tiny demon, the 4 decoys will try to kill you, it's not easy, no wonder the Hashiras have a hard time fighting those guys, a single Hashira will struggle a lot with him but 2 Hashiras will pull it off but then again, 2 Hashiras can kill almost all the Upper-Moons by themselves as long as its 2vs1, Upper-Moon rank 1 is a different story though, you need more than 2 Hashiras here.

the pacing feels really off... i don't know how to put it, i cant feel anything for the characters. i don't know if it's the fight getting dragged out or the sudden backstory when you know tanjiro's gonna save the day, like i can't feel anything for genya. maybe the way they present the sad backstories were just a gimmick that made me feel characters in the first season but ever since rengoku i haven't sympathized with a single character on the show...

yes, he's inherited the technique and also leveled up big time. it makes me emotional to think about that and how awesome it is. i just think a lot of people (myself included) thought the timing and length of that flashback was poorly done and we ended on one hell of a bad cliffhanger. all in all a very poorly thought out episode. i dont hate the season like some others but i do have some questions about narrative or directional choices here.

i think the gimmick is so overplayed it loses impact after a while?

basically, genya's whole family got one shot by their mom who became a demon. everyone made fun of rengoku for becoming a donut but genya became a donut pro max. although genya is very much alive.
nezuko and her pink flames looked fire and that tiny demon running around looked funny.
but overall, it all feels a bit repititive. those 10 seconds of hype moments are cool but then the rest of the episode just feels meh.

What a brutal Mother's Day episode, this episode was.

With Upper Rank 4 Kanketsu's Emotion Demons dealt with, Tanjiro still feels something is amiss, and Genya in his overzealous state to beat him to the punch, they have all regenerated, and the most important now is to find that 5th demon lurking in the scenes, who is a wimp compared to the other 4. With Tanjiro covering for both Genya with Nezuko for assistance, they have no room for error, and so is Tokito's resilience against Gyokko. The 5th demon, however, is a puny-sized demon that's the shape of a mouse, but like the demons, virtually undefeatable no matter what weapons he throws at it.

Genya's backstory of a family with their protective mother against an abusive father, and life is rough. As if it wasn't rough enough, a demon coming to attack Genya and his siblings in one fell swoop, but who his big brother Sanemi ended up killing was their mother instead, who turned into a demon. And with nowhere else to go, all Genya had was his talent, which was useless against his brother, who had become a Hashira before him. Knowing that he could not behead the 5th demon, Genya graced it onto Tanjiro to get the job done.

With the slash, will the job be done?

What a good Mother’s Day this is lol, but really tho that was a messed up backstory. Sure I saw the tragedy coming but it was still upsetting to watch, and I guess this means Genya isn’t so different from Tanjiro when it comes to his reasons for being a demon slayer.

And the fight rages on, Hantengu’s four stooges are still standing thanks to the fact that his real body is shrunk way down and hiding around like a little rat, the scenes where he was running away were pretty funny lol. And of course it cuts us off right as Tanjiro goes for the kill, I think this means it’s not gonna work but we shall see lol.

Does Tanjiro really not realize that Genya's a demon. Like he's got long anime hair, long fingernails, fangs, and is drooling. Also the tiny demon running was unironically hilarious.

What a shitty ass episode. Tanjiro can't stop talking obvious shit. Genya's backstory is cry bait trash. Tokito and Upper Five's fight doesn't evoke in me, fear and anxiety for the trapped Hashira. The protags and antags fight for no fcking reason besides for the most superficial of reasons. Rui fight was interesting because it was as much a clash of ideals as it was a clash between a demon and a demon slayer. The fight with the upper four is extremely terrible. All the hits and blows mean nothing. We know Nezuko and Tanjiro aren't going to die nor are they going to hurt the Upper Four. How is the fight good then if there are no stakes? The choreography is trash as well. The environments feel flat for example.

Oh.. Genya's backstory covered most of episode, rest of the episode was ok. Tanjiro always saying 'Don't give up' so many times, just gets annoying and how the heck were they talking about becoming a hashira when the fight is not even over.

Pretty sure Tanjiro would behead that small demon in the next episode. Waiting for ufotable's great animation.

I like how Tanjiro is now the one leading the fight against this demon, like Tengen and Rengoku in the previous arcs. Not just in telling Nezuko and Genya what to do but also letting Genya go for the main demon rather than cause problems between them.

After this backstory I think one of the reasons Sanemi got so trigged  about Tanjiro trying to save Nezuko was bc if Tanjiro succeed he will kinda regret about not trying to save his own mother back then.
