| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- Good first chapter, mostly set up of the rules and background of the race. Diego looks almost exactly the original Dio, interested in him going forward. Also the introduction of one of the protagonists, Gyro Zeppeli. Those teeth, man. Also, Nyo-Ho! Love the western setting, btw. I figure Araki's obvious fascination with western culture means he had to eventually utilize the good old west. |

| Wait a minute, did I just see a design that looks very much like Dio? I think I did. Anyways, I think he's going to be a huge threat in this race. Overall, a great setup to this story so far. Felt a little too fast but I'm expecting great development. And yeah, the setting is quite refreshing. |

| Decent start up, love the setting & the premise of the race so I'm definitely looking forward to how this series progresses. Especially when it switches over to monthly, since I hear that's when it gets really good. |
| Dio & Avdul made me emotional, although I've watched SC 2 months ago I felt like it's been ages, I missed these guys. I hope Dio gets a lot of screentime! I love the setting & Gyro looks great (he got grills in 1890? LOL). The race seems tough, it's gonna be exciting to read. I hope this part lives up to the hype. |

| Nice start. The setting is very refreshing and looks interesting, the alternate universe versions of the characters give me warm feels, and Gyro is just so cool from the start. Although he's a Zeppeli, so...sigh. I guess I shouldn't connect to him emotionally too much. It's also noticeable just how much longer is this chapter compared to any other previous chapter of JoJo's. AFAIK, SBR switched from Weekly Shounen Jump to a seinen magazine Ultra Jump after the 4th volume, hence the large page count (so I guess it was thought of as a seinen from the start) |

I can't believe that I'm finally reading this nearly a year after I've finished Stone Ocean... My personal hype levels are through the roof the more I hear about the Steel Ball Run! Nyoho~ |

| The first impressions are that it seems to be set in a desert and in the times of the wild west of America. There's names like the white man and his books which will probably be a big plot point later on. A grand race across the vast desert and mountainous terrains of America from San Diego to new York which is the main narrative of the story seems really interesting and different from the previous parts. So overall, I'm really excited to see the journey of the main characters, their story and of course since this is Jojo we're talking about - the stand battles. |

| Just came back to this chapter to reread it after a couple of years since I last read it and it's just amazing every time. Part 7 felt so different than the other parts which made it feel really cool because it was completely new and fresh. Going from how part 6 ended straight onto part 7 was so bizarre (pun intended) because of how different it all was. Steel Ball Run is my favourite part like a lot of others but not just because it's popular, steel ball run just has everything you'd ever want in a story and that's why it's amazing. The first chapter was also good because it introduces us to new characters and even some familiar names/faces from previous parts which is what I love about JoJo, the first chapters always make you feel at home with JoJo no matter how different the part is. I'm probably going to do a reread of part 7 and then go back and reread up to part 6 and then reread part 8 before The Jojolands releases, I'll probably just leave the part 1-6 reread for after The Jojolands starts though. I probably won't write a post for all chapters because I've already read it with a few exceptions for really big parts in the story. I mainly just wanted to write here because it's the first chapter of such an amazing story. |
| I'm genuinely overwhelmed by how much praise this part gets that it's beginning to get incomprehensively baffling. Was planning to wait until the anime comes out to experience it again, but at this point I should just re-read it just to see what the hell is going on. I cannot relate at all to its acclaim. My mind needs some peace. |
