THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Haha, Pauline has that comical "dark aura" around her. Priceless. A lot of humor again with Melie and the party taking on another quest. Even the fight against those band of thugs was amusing. (thanks to Melie's background commentary) I also find Mavis rather elegant in those men style clothes this episode. Most interestingly is Reina's reaction this episode. Maybe we'll get to see her past this season. |

Another very good episode, Pauline was so epic with that crook, she is really intelligent. Reina's past seems to be very harsh... that's sad, I wanna see how it will develop. |

Seeing Melie in a maid outfit doing moe moe routines was really cute and her marking out at the rock monster's transformation was hilarious. She really is a closet otaku. Pauline is best girl because she reminds me of a younger version of Momako from Okaa-san online. It seems Reina has blood on her hands from killing people in her past. |

Didn't I say to make this episode continue being light and fluffy?! Man, Reina, just oof. I'm here for ya. And I'm sure Mile is also for ya. I had an inkling it's gonna take this drastic of a tonal shift sooner or later... |

Some darker elements in this episode, huh? It doesn't seem too bad still, so whatever. Comedy was great as always, tho I didn't get the reference when she said she brought those clothes... |

I disapointed... Each next episode is worse than previous. Standard gags, standard predictable reactions, stupid "moe-moe-kyun". No personalities at all. This is even worse than last SAO. Looks like drop... |

Did we really need a random tragic backstory here? are we going full edgy now? I do appreciate the Ultraman references tho. |

another very enjoyable episode. I was laughing when Miles was toying with the Kaboom golem. Pauline outsmarted that fatass scumbag merchant. good. Reina so kawaii in the school uniform. Hmm, she has a dark past... maybe it will be explored more later. looking forward to next week!! ^^ |

I realize that, these people should make "Killing Slime for 300 year" instead of this show, because there isn't any serious or dark moments, scenes or chapters in the Slime Taoshite, just only comedy, fantasy action and cute/moe stuff with female Ore TUEEE MC. So this is it, after 3 and half episodes of gags, unnacessary references and cute comedy, they started to take seriosly with Reina's part. Not only the progression of the story and the evolution of the Crimson Vow were inconsistent, the tone of the show becomes inconsitent too. In this episode, the pary, who killed or beaten up Rock Gollems and B and A rank hunters, had difficult in hunting the rock/stone ugly lizard thing, something that i would see it if the party only hunt rabbits, goblins and maybe orcs. Not only that, for some reason they had a lot of them in the stock. When and how? Who knows. And after a lots of gags that nobody cares, including the maid caffe stuff, the thing that shoudn't exist in this show for what they are aiming is here, with serious and dark moments and scenes. This is a problem, for not matching with the tone of the entire show at moment, at least 3 episode of this show, or not having any hints or flags that indicate to the serious and dark moments. I mean, you won't start an episode like that with comedy and lighted tone or put a lot of gags and references in the middle of the episode. And the lack in the characters or superficial chemistry and relationship make it worse, it wasn't truly or honest enought to make the serious moments work well emotionally in the episode. |

Miles little wish when dressed as a maid though was just adorable. For their first ever quest that sure was a rather close one. So ultra freeze was a technique that Mile learned from Ultraman lol. It was pretty amusing seeing Pauline so effortlessly outsmart the merchant. But the girls abilities and teamwork sure are allowing them to easily take on quests in the guild. While the puddle sure managed to soil their clothes the ones that they donned to replace them sure were cute. The girls defence of the merchants sure was impressive though the bandits sure were pretty well equipped as well. Reina's hatred towards that bandit was pretty unexpected given her usual attitude. Looks like in the past Reina's run in with bandits caused her no small amount of mental trauma. Overall an enjoyable ep as always that showed that even though they are still relatively new their combat ability along with Pauline's unique business sense is allowing them to easily deal with shady merchants while also gradually allowing them to gain both ranks and experience. Im quite curious on what happened in Reina's past though. |

Huh this week's episode actually stayed fairly close to the manga, although they greatly toned down a lot of it (no blood with the rock lizard hunting for example). They also left out Mile getting sent flying by the lizard's tail causing the start of Reina's PTSD kicking in, and the fact they actually killed 27 lizards. They moved the PTSD to the bandit fight which is also different to the manga but also lots more references this week including the classic Ultraman, and Takarazuka. |

It makes a lot more sense in the manga tbh. They seem to have realised that going anime original for the first few episodes has complicated matters for when they do return to the source material meaning they've had to shoehorn plot elements that ideally should've happened at different times, sometimes earlier and sometimes later. |

So this was the transition episode where we see the girls get a base and start taking quests, so we knew kinda what to expect, but the way they executed it was delightful. The mixture of the girls' reactions and interaction with the neat artwork made for an enjoyable watching experience (the maid cafe part was a cheesy nice touch). I saw some disappointed comments the other week that we haven't had any of the backstory for the girls, when they came to reveal their group name at the end of the tournament fighting (apparently in the manga the back ground story has been more fleshed out at this point). I've got a feeling that we're going to start discovering each girl's history and reason for joining up as a hunter over the course of the show. From what we've just seen unfold in this episode it looks like Reina is first up. |

Pauline is terrifying when it comes to merching, just scary. They took quite a few lizards down. Them getting dirty from the mud, was kinda funny. To have them wear clean clothes, in this case the outfit of Mile. Perfect fit for Reina but obviously too small for Pauline. It was predictable but I love it, what a sight. Also gotta love the "gentleman" look of Mavis. Seems we're going to enter some dark territories next week. Stating to appreciate the catchy opening more with every episode that gets released. |

Wow, so up until now it din`t really seemed rushed (even thouht LN readers complained about skipped content) but this episode was a bit too packed. Also, I kinda miss the savage Mile from ep 1. not even in 10 seconds I already got a heartburn. I don't know what this anime is doing to me and I'm loving it. the whole episode felt like it ended before it even started lol. Mile is gonna have to be a bit careful now that there are things that could break her shield. she can't be chill anymore and that's despite that she's 6,800 times more powerful than a human. as for Reina's PTSD... I dunno. It might be nice to see her being a villain/antagonist on her arc. and here's a little tidbit from the manga/ln: there's a little "backstory" with regards to the clean clothes. apparently only Mile has a convenient magic to have her clothes and body clean while the other 3 are pretty much desperate for it. and they got a liiiiiitle bit jealous for this. |

(I'm a novel reader) The rock lizard part was mostly accurate, but really truncated. It's not the most important thing that ever happened so I would have preferred if they just skipped it instead of this. And the second half of this episode...big oof. It's technically based on a story from the novels, but completely dumbed down. Details under the spoiler: The job wasn't just to escort a caravan, but was actually to lure out the bandits that had been attacking more frequently lately, and other hunter groups were also hired alongside The Crimson Vow for it. Mile, Reina, and Pauline's outfits (the same ones they change into in the episode) were used to help draw out the bandits (Mavis didn't have a special outfit), not because they'd been splashed with mud. However, it turned out the "bandits" weren't actual bandits, but officers from a neighboring country. I don't remember all the details of why they were doing this banditry, but it was certainly more nuanced than the generic bandit attack in this episode, and there wasn't a mecha golem, either. This is about the time we're supposed to get Reina's backstory, and yeah, it's pretty tragic, but it also had a bit more build-up to it than "Have you ever killed anyone?" It seems like they're trying to cram in as much detail as they can in the 12 episodes they have. I rarely read light novels or watch their adaptations, so I don't know if this is a common thing, but I really would have preferred if they'd stuck to adapting some more important arcs properly rather than summarizing everything. |

HAH even in another world, Mile just can't avoid working in a maid cafe (and doing the moemoe action) xDD all in the name to earn money as the Crimson Vow. HAHA rock lizards? More like huge monitor lizards if you ask me. More like an Ultraman reference. But Pauline was terrifying for a moment. Try picking a fight with her and all your profits will sink. The robbery scene...seems downplayed a lot compared to the original source, when it comes to Reina's tragic backstory. Although I'd like to know what's going on, it felt very hamfisted when Reina questioned the girls of whether they've murdered people before. Oh well, guess I'll just refer to either the manga/LN. Florete said: It seems like they're trying to cram in as much detail as they can in the 12 episodes they have. The director already mentioned that majority of this adaptation will be original, as compared to them having read through the source material and adapting as per how it played out. This is one of those rare instances where the direction taken (at least for this show) is off the charts, though subtle pointers like the novel stories will be shown, albeit like you say, truncated. |

I think they're trying to get the world record on how many volumes you can cram into a single one-cour series. Aside from the maid thing at the beginning (in LN it was just hanging around and talking to people a bit) this episode had events mostly that happened in the LN, the rock lizardwas enough to fit the entire episode but they cut it down to a tenth of what it was. They also changed the merchant caravan section, the school uniform was originally to lure the bandits out as the entire purpose of the quest was merchants and hunters coming together to take care of the bandits as they posed a serious threat to the economy. And the sports uniform pauline wore, while not her size, wasn't THAT skimpy, and none of that entire section was evenly remotely perverted. There were multiple adventurer parties, no golem (there were some rock golem fights in the rock lizard retrieval arc tho IIRC) the bandits were actually soldiers from another country pretending to be bandits. And just overall a fuck ton of world building has been skipped, at least it seems the'll get into Reina's backstory but I highly doubt they'll go much into it. I continue watching because I hope it turns around and actually starts adapting it well but I keep getting disappointed, I just hope in the case that FUNA's other two isekais get adapted they'll be treated better and done by a studio that doesn't just churn out trashy shows. NOTE: Also for those wondering where this dark stuff came from: The original source wasn't a Cute girls do cute things type of series, none of that moe stuff was there, and the comedy while there was never to this extent and there was quite a bit more action than here. Heck, the graduation fight last episode was against someone else entirely and was noteworthy for being a good fight with Mile even for the first time getting fired up, not because she was offended because "lol flat" but because it was an actual fight/duel for the first time where she could actually try without accidentally killing her opponent. |

Enjoyable episode but really dont get this "killing is bad" vibe. Alot of people just deserve to die and that attack was a clear case of argument... Just annihilate all apposition, it's more efficient and better for everyone in the long run. |

Personally it would actually be MERCIFUL for people who deserve to die to die then and there; it would be much better off if people suffered a fate worse than death; suffering and rotting in prison for the rest of their lives and doing manual labour. You might as well be dead. Yes it's inefficient, but it you don't suffer a moral / ethical penalty for it, and they'll WISH they would have been killed instead. We'll see how they will handle it next episode... |

I've said it before, but why is our OP MC acting like a helpless damsel in distress? why concern herself with your spoilered tidbit when she can just flatten countries easily if she so wanted? I also hear some people saying the manga/novel goes downhill from here. I hope this anime would save what the novel failed to accomplish at. |
