I live in Southampton in the South of the UK and apart from believing that anime is the font of all human wisdom and happiness, I also enjoy a number of other pursuits, including spending my time on our narrowboat Andante, cruising the Inland Canals and Rivers of the UK. I also try to take time to go fishing, mainly coarse fishing on lakes, canals and rivers for carp, bream, perch, roach, rudd, pike, chubb & barbel during the summer.
Other passions include reading, including some manga and light novels, as well as fiction novels. Some examples of my favourite books would be Lord of the Rings (Feanor is an elven character from Tolkien's world of Middle Earth & Valinor), Terry Prachett's Discworld series, Terry Brook's Shannara series & Bernard Cornwell's Sharpe series.
I'm also a football fan and have supported Tottenham Hotspur FC since I was a young kid when I used to go and watch matches. I also enjoy watching Le Tour De France every year.
I like most forms of music, but particularly Trance music (used to love Drum n Bass and Happy Hardcore in my younger days but my tastes have mellowed out as I've gotten older; check out following channels for good trancetunes). I used to enjoy going clubbing and to festivals (Glastonbury, Homelands, Creamfields, Gatecrasher, Godskitchen, Obsession, Dreamscape, Helter Skelter) when my body could cope with all night dancing. Now my idea of a nice evening is chilling out with a beer, catching up on the seasonal anime or something from my backlog of 'plan to watch' shows (a list that seems to never stop growing, no matter how much or how quickly I watch). Also a dad of two young toddlers.
I only use values 6-10, any show that would score a 5 or lower is a show I will drop (there are a couple of exceptions to this like End of Evangelion movie and Detective is Already Dead, and hentai). I also tend to give shows a low, mid/straight/solid or high rating for any numerical value that I give and usually elaborate on this in our Mal Later Years review thread.
10 - to score a 10 it will either have to be a masterpiece that i can't talk myself out of scoring lower (eg FLCL or Cowboy Bebop) and have top animation/music/story or characters, I developed a particular attachment to the show (eg Kamisama Kiss & Aria the Natural) or a show appealed directly to my tastes and got everything right for me, ie my definition of peak anime entertainment (eg Fena: Pirate Princess, Cat Planet Cuties, Katangatari, Konosuba S1, Kaguya-sama: Love is War S1 & Mushoku Tensei S2).
9 - top quality animation, art style, music, story and characters but without the x factor that gives a show that boost to a perfect score.
8 - i enjoyed immensely
7 - a very good show but lacking in some areas
6 - watchable and mostly enjoyable but with enough elements to lower the score
I began my anime experience way back when watching series like Dragon Ball Z, and films like Akira, Laputa: Castle in the Sky & Fist of The North Star. I can still clearly remember watching Laputa: Castle in the Sky on a colour tv for the first time at my grandparents (we had a black & white tv at home) and 8 year old me was awe struck. My break-through anime show was Full Metal Alchemist around 2012 and after that got into popular anime on kissanime (RIP). Check out my MAL list for all the shows that I'm into.
In respect to random friend requests, please tell me why you're sending me a friend request, I don't much see the point of having lots of random friends in my friend box (what ever it is called). If we have common favourites or enjoy the same genres or shows, then I'd be more than happy to chat anime.

As with most anime fans, I love some of the great OP's and ED's from anime shows. Some of my favourites:

It's a really good list and I'd assume you can find some nuggets in it.
Similar here, I followed the tables but at some point it takes forever to finish an episode. So me too skipped. Owari introduces https://myanimelist.net/character/90393/Ougi_Oshino who I really never could make a rhyme on or bind emotionally. But it seems that character is growing in the recent season's cast. I probably should rewatch owari 1/2 before that one. But hwn, lol, work eats me alive until at least the end of the year. Deadlines ...
It's the other way around for me, I watched BB but not BcS. And yes, it's quite intense. But you meanwhile know my inner Edgelord, I love it that way :) My take home message from the video was the insight what the function of the Monogatari quick-cut text tables is, meta commentary / assesment of the scene from somebody watching and parsing the dialogue. I never fully understood it as in Japanese it's hard to compare because subs, tables, visuals etc. all add up to overload. This "simplified" example is gold.

Is there the need to read them all? No. Just let it flow.
Much appreciated, and yes i agree that Dirty Pair Flash was a clear step down from the heights of the original dirty pair but that was because of unfortunate circumstances at the time.
I also recently i finished my research on anime bikini space girl media and managed to narrow it down to 10 very interesting and cute space girls.
Ok so here are my top 10 sexy space girls and the anime they're from:
1. Kei and Yuri (Dirty Pair)
2. Reika Kirishima (Time Gal)
3. Jennifer (Makai Senki Disgaea)
4. Sakurahime (Plawres Sanshiro)
5. Maia Mizuki (Daphne in the Brilliant Blue)
6. Honey (Space Dandy)
7. Yume Aoi (Wingman)
8. Kumiko Fuzawa (Wingman)
9. Power Girl (Various Superman Cartoons)
I just turned 30 this year, so hopefully I can be accepted into the club and join the watch group.
I understand how hard it is to take care of children and such. Honestly, anime to parents might as well just be for entertainment purposes and nothing more, if only for discussion.
Like I've said, I've been writing reviews since 2018, so the styles have completely changed, but my assessment always remains the same, and that's how I keep consistency throughout the years.
Oh, thanks for the memories, I think I accidentally removed ya from my friend list coz I'm like checking for active users from time to time. Sorry T.T
I mean, typical anime watchers will write whatever the hell they want, that's none of my business. As long as my review is out there (and seemingly been nerfed no thanks to MAL's changing climate of "what the eff are the admins doing"), I hope that people can take in of different views, rather than write something very arbitrary and feel like it's anime review no. 69 of 420. This is something that I have worked on my reviews since 2018, and will keep on changing what the climate wants, even if it's out of my control.
I'm glad to find a compatriot for Healer Girl, that show is so underrated.
Let me know once you finished Genius Prince! I'd love to know your thoughts on it.
I have thoroughly enjoyed Strike the Blood franchise so far. Ecchi has been stellar and the occasional shower scenes add just enough titular enjoyment to keep it from being raunchy. A vampire who doesn't know his own strength yet and an agency who spies on him via a young lass but who also is slowly under the radar, imo, is growing his harem into an empire. What's not to like?
I prefer an anime that is not afraid to work some T&A into the story.
Hey, just wanted to say I appreciated the recommendation for Our Flag Means Death (can't remember if you mentioned it in our Treasure Island watch, Banana Fish watch or both - would've been relevant in both places). I ended up binging it and, as of today, finishing the second season. Enjoyed the ride, solid comedy with some substantial pathos and I just love the pirate aesthetic.
I gave Classroom of the Elite a 10/10 because I love psychological animes, I like to understand how smart people think vs dumb people think. I won't say it all because it would be a giant text but that's it. I gave Food Wars a 10/10 because it's very rare having a decent gourmet anime and I didn't expect this much. Food Wars literally show us how we can get improve ourselves and don't be complaining, and it gave me motivation. Simple
