| Too. Much. Chibi. Animation. After a good episode last week, this was a major drop in quality again, but I'm not surprised. Also, was the innkeeper supposed to be funny? Because she wasn't. At all. And I still can't believe Momiji is a guy, no matter how much they assert that fact. |

| This episode was adorable! Momijis story is still very thought provoking for the boys, and it really does fit Tohru. The Kyo and Momiji interactions cracked me up, & Yuki giving Tohru the ribbon was a sweet scene. I’m glad they didn’t extend the hot springs trip as much as they did in the original, the lady was a bit annoying there, but I liked her better here because there just wasn’t as much. I think it fits the more fluffy, comedic tone of this episode. The comedic value with the chibis was a bit more fitting, and not a situation of lacking quality. |

| Another episode where the old adaptation did it better. The fool's tale in the 2001 adaptation had a much better use of colors, with a washed out palette. It gave the sensation of old faery tales. The new one uses a very bright color palette that almost looks like it came out of Disney Studios. The music in the old one is much better by changing the tone once the traveler enters the woods infested by demons. The panning shots in Aquarell colors although quite simplistic it matches with the washed out colors from the story. I did like the ribbon gift scene better in this new adaptation though. It makes better use of wider more detailed backgrounds than the old one and both have that special feeling of being in front of a prince. |

Lol i think last two episodes had the quality's drop tbh (mostly episode 9), this episode have the chibi animation because it fits with the light heart comedy... This doesn't mean the quality of the animation dropped lmao. |

| I just love Tohru so much, she's the highest level of a human being. I loved how artistic was the animation of the traveler story. I just can't wait to see Ritsu, i always found his mother incredibly funny. Also, who wouldn't fall in love with Yuki? Damn, he's so smooth |
| Uah it's because of scenes like the ribbon one i can't prevent myself of shipping Yuki and Tohru... I love Kyoru and Yukiru lmao, it's hard to choose between them. But Yuki is still my son lmao. |

| Ah, the Inn Lady. She's kind at heart, but she does lose her composure too easily and goes into a mental breakdown, as shown multiple times, but it was used to a good comedic effect, matching that of the 2001 version and the manga version, too. =) Momiji's story of the female traveler was pretty sad, sowing just how many people would leech off someone so generous just for their own gain and greed. It's tragic and unlike his classmates, Momiji felt the story's impact and his message to Yuki and Kyo definitely hit the mark. Still, it's hard to believe that he's only a year younger than Tohru, Yuki and Kyo and also the same age as Hatsuharu. Puberty can be a funny thing at times, eh? XD This episode was fun and relaxing. Tohru's face after learning that Momiji is only a year younger than her was hilarious. I think she now regrets ever agreeing to sharing the baths with Momiji if he DID get his way. |
| This one adapts chapters 17 and 18 of the manga, pretty much being the equivalent of the 2001 anime's 12th episode. Again, nothing major of note was changed or removed here. Here were changes I took notice of for this episode: -A small scene was removed where one of the students in the classroom retorted in response to Mayuko-sensei saying "pencils down" and Mayuko telling him to shut up under threat of losing points on his exam. -While Tohru was talking about Yuki tutoring her for the exam, there's a removed flashback showing the two studying together, along with Shigure for whatever reason. -When Hanajima mentions that she needs to makeup her exams, there is a removed part where the characters are in stick figure form as a shocked reaction to the revelation. -A brief part where Uotani and another female student question Kyo's ability to prep for the exam was removed. -In the manga, Momiji and Tohru were scrubbing floors at Tohru's workplace instead of a window and table respectively in the anime. Also, there is no appearance from a few of Tohru's co-workers curious who Momiji is at the end of the scene. -Yuki was accompanying Momiji and Tohru home in the manga, instead of still being at home in the anime. -A small scene's removed where Tohru offers to prepare Momiji dinner with Kyo still roughhousing him and Yuki feeling annoyed with all the noise. -During the beginning of the dinner scene, Kyo was still in another room drying himself off from his bath instead of being at the table with everyone else. -The showing of the "Joke Story Collection" book was added for the anime. -The demons depicted in Momiji's story were not depicted as visually magnificent in the manga. - During Momiji's explanation of his reaction to the story's moral, some of the flashback depicting his classmates' reactions to it were removed, as well as Shigure patting Momiji on the head for his admiration of the traveler. -In the scene where Tohru's hanging out clothes the following day, the shirt worn by Momiji had a more elaborate pattern design that was simplified for the anime. -Upon arriving at the hot springs, Yuki and Tohru are shown to be wearing a different set of clothes for the anime. Yuki has his regular Chinese-style clothes in the manga, and Tohru is not wearing a sweater. Plus, Tohru's skirt has a pattern design that was simplified for the anime. -A small scene's removed with the bus driver saying he will be coming to pick Tohru and the boys up tomorrow morning. -The reaction to the mistress' frail welcome to the inn was depicted in stick figures briefly in the manga. -While walking through the inn, there's a removed scene where the mistress commented typically she works behind the scenes and has other help to aid in the inn's operations. But due to Momiji's arrangements, she is tending to things for the day. -While the mistress is explaining why Shigure couldn't make the inn trip, there's a removed bit showing Momiji placing his head on Tohru's shoulder. -Tohru and the boys were all not at a table together in the manga. Also, Momiji had a folded tower on his head at the start of the scene as well. -Kyo is also in the bath when Tohru thinks about Momiji swimming in the hot springs. -When Tohru reacts to learning the mistress' son is the Monkey of the zodiac, the towel on her head fell off in the manga. -The shot shown of the Sohma boys in the men's part of the hot springs following the mistress' outburst was added for the anime. -Momiji and Kyo's banter during the ping pong scene was extended some in the anime. -Tohru and Yuki's scene outside the inn did not take place on a bridge in the manga. -Momiji and Kyo weren't shown to be in the middle of playing ping pong in the anime following Tohru and Yuki's scene. -The design of the quilts on Tohru and Momiji's futons weren't as elaborate in the manga. In addition, the night sky had a full moon instead of a crescent one. -A small portion of the mistress' dialogue while saying farewell to Tohru and the boys got removed from the anime. -In the final scene, Hatsuharu had a different set of clothes he wore in the manga that were a little more elaborate in attire. |

| That lady is crazy and I am waiting to see her son lol. Also yuki has really opened to tohru. I mean the guy has't even laughed in front of his parents before and he did that in front of tohru. |

| YAAAAAAY! Momiji & Haru are going to be the show more regularly! I'm so happy about that cauase they're both awesome! I love the part of this episode where Tohru went full power up playing ping pong... but completely missed the ball hahaha That part with her and Yuki on the bridge too... swoooon! |

| Of course Tooru went and used her hard-earned, and needed money on those chocolates. But I'm glad Kyou managed to control his anger, how could they blame or be mad at her for doing something for them? Sure, now she will have to work hard to be able to pay her school trip, but she made those chocolates with all her heart because she cares about them. How can her good feelings and intentions be deemed as stupid? We didn't hear Kyou or Yuki's answer to Momiji's question, but I'm sure they could see why she did it. The story about the "idiot" traveler was outright depressing though, enough to make me want to cry about it. I like Momiji's take on the story and the character though. But there are many people like his classmates, who would see the traveler and the story as stupid, and few like him who would close his eyes and care about her. But of course moderation is key, Tooru can't end up like that traveler, giving up parts of herself for others who would only be taking advantage of her selflessness. But she isn't alone like that traveler, and I want to believe she won't have such a sad ending. Their trip to the hot springs was nice too, and even though I don't ship her with Yuki, I also enjoyed that moment with his white day gift. Oh, and the monkey's mother was a bit over the top, like many of the Souma, but funny nonetheless. xD And I was shocked with Momiji's age back then too, I feel Tooru, and I'm glad that both him and Hatsuharu are finally going to their school! |

| Man. Tooru's character type really burns me out sometimes. That kinda dark fairy tail really emphasized the type of character that I really don't care for. |
| Oh man, Saki's way of describing her own academic performance made me laugh and feel sad at the same time. Wasn't expecting a bath episode but it's a nice breather from the drama. It's inspiring that Tohru even bought the photo of her mom into the bath. She really loved her. |

| That old devious bastard calling himself Toru's grandfather thinks he's clever by baiting the Soma's to pay for her deposits! The school called you as the guardian, you old devil! Why call the Soma's, because you knew they would suggest to pay. Some families are real piece of trash when your parents are gone, they pretend to love you when your parents are alive, show their true colors when they're gone. On a light note, I liked the proprietress character, such a schizophrenic person. The Soma family is interesting as always, I want to see her child though. |

| Good episode. I liked the okami-san more than in the old anime, she was funnier here (but the soundtrack was better in the old anime, as usual). Momiji's voice actor sounded better in the old anime (Hatori's too). Anyway, can't wait to see Hatsuharu and Momiji coming to their school |

He call Soma's house because he can't contact Tohru--no cellphone. So of course he gave the message to Shigure since he's the one who answer the phone. And no, he didn't suggest the Soma to pay, the grandfather want to pay but not without Tohru's agreement. He's respecting Tohru wish to pay her own school tuition. If ever, ever there's a time Tohru come to him and asking for a hefty sum of money or asking to be spoiled, he will give it. But Tohru are not the type to be like that. So he's holding back. |

The shot of the building Momiji and Tohru were cleaning was really nice, and I quite like the chibi animation. People complained about it in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, but I think the creators are wise to take advantage of the medium. Really helps sell the comedic gags the story is going for right now, and makes the serious moments stand out more. |

| It's nice to watch something like this from time to time. If this was the opposite, the mc is male while most of the zodiacs are female, this would turn out ecchi. Well this is the essence of shoujos. Didn't think Momoji was a highschool student. Good thing he didn't bathe with Tohru |

I’ve a feeling she was too baffled to think about that; but it’s still surprising how this didn’t come to mind first. Anyway, it was another great episode! Tohru deserves all the happiness and it was nice to see Momoji and Yuki prepare a little something for her. Seeing Hanajima first up was a really nice treat too. Quite the depressing tale from Momoji there though, and very relatable to a certain someone as well, and it was nice to see the two contemplating with that. Tohru smiling and brushing that money problem aside is just crazy admirable. Moving on, the Inn lady was a very nice addition for the episode and I’m looking forward to Tohru getting to meet her child. Hopefully, he/she won’t be as frantic and horrifying xD. Comedy was on point this episode and it’s mortally shocking that Momoji is just a year younger than Yuki, Kyo and Tohru! Lol @ Shigure’s gift though, I really hope he doesn’t end up in jail sometime. You just got to love the guy but his hidden agenda is a bit .. suspicious, to say the least. Looking forward to the next episode! We’ll be through with the first cour then and hopefully confirmation for the season length will come! |

It would also fit with the DVD/BD vol. 3 having an additional, fifth episode and adding up to 13 episodes for the first three discs (out of six). Anyway, we'll know for sure soon enough. | That traveller story hit a bit too close home for me because they basically described the traveller as me. Good for Momiji to remind me there are still people who appreciate it though. |

| Basically, Tohru let a boy who's only a year younger than her sleep next to her. Usually in most Asian cultures, such as Japanese culture (perhaps even non-Asian cultures), letting someone of the opposite sex (who isn't confirmed gay) sleep next to you is kind of scandalous. It's okay if it's a small child but if they hit puberty, it's kind of looked down on. Anyways, I enjoyed this episode as usual. I also enjoyed watching some reactors on YouTube, some who saw the original series and some who have never seen it or read the manga react to this episode. Can't wait for the innkeeper's son make an appearance, I love his character,he's just like his mother. |
