Towa and Rean is the OTP of the Cold Steel Saga. It's pretty obvious that Falcom really wanted Alisa to be the main love interest and the best one for Rean but I massively disagree. I like Alisa, but her interactions with Rean don't hit nearly as strong as the other gals. The only scene where I felt it was robust was when they were gazing at the stars in the Highlands back in the very first game. Every other scene with them just comes across as just a bit eh and shoehorned in imo.

Laura and Emma provide more of a deeper connection between Rean, as Laura is also one of the sword, and Emma overlooked Rean right from the very start. However, it was the brief interactions with Towa that cemented it. Despite not being a part of the main cast, she was a huge component of Reans development, When he first broke down, she was the one to help him through it first. She was the first that saw Reans weak side first. Without that scene, you could possibly even say that the sacrifice ending would have happened, as Rean would have it all bottled up inside of him., But the damn broke, and Towa was the hammer. Such a small girl has the biggest heart, and her continual support of Rean is what's so believable and real. And Towa confiding in Rean in the later games, was just golden, as it's a symbiotic relationship of helping one another and their struggles.

That's not to say Alisa doesn't have her struggles. It's just that Towa just comes across as more genuine and it feels more realistic for someone like her to actually exist rather than Alisa.

I just finished Cold Steel 4 for the first time a few days ago, and while I really was not a fan of the ending, what Trails does so incredibly well is the likeability of almost all of the characters in its massive roster. What are your favorite characters in the story so far ? Even if it includes someone from the Reverie/Daybreak games I have yet to play, I want to know ( of course in a general sense ), as it will get me excited to see them in the near future.

They don't get into marriage often in anime because it's hard to write. Leading up to making a relationship official, you can have tsundere angles, love triangles, and you can detail the whole process of bringing affection from 0 to 100 across dates and shared experiences. This show's unique in that it's already swinging marital problems by episode 5, which doesn't fall into the "feelgood" category of romance anime stimuli. And yeah, I watched the dub, and everybody sold their personality vividly. This is on Starz so when I renewed it to catch American Gods I had something else to justify my subscription. Great rewatch.

How are you liking Onegai Teacher? I saw it over a decade ago and just got back to it, and even though the animation's kind of cheap I thought it was really charming. Hatsuho needs her own spin-off
