 The official website for previously announced Godzilla anime movie has revealed concept art and cast members that will participate in it. Their roles have yet to be revealed. The movie is planned to premiere in 2017. Yuki Kaji (ClassicaLoid) Takahiro Sakurai (Ajin) Tomokazu Sugita (Gintama.) Junichi Suwabe (ACCA: 13-ku Kansatsu-ka) Kana Hanazawa (3-gatsu no Lion) Mamoru Miyano (Yowamushi Pedal: New Generation) All six cast members will also participate in AnimeJapan 2017 stage on March 26, 2017. | I've been a Godzilla fan all my life so I'm definitely looking forward to this. However, I'm not too enthused with the concept art. The art by itself looks great but I'm just not sure how it's going to work with a Godzilla storyline. |

With this, Anno's work last year, and the 2014 American film getting a sequel in 2019, not to mention all the Re-releases of films (Including a FINALLY uncut version of 1985!), this is a GREAT time to be a Godzilla fan! I find it funny that Yuki Kaji most notable role is Classicaloid not Attack on Titan or even Bananya (praise be). At least now Classicaloid fans can joke about Mozarts and Beethoven battling Godzilla, all 12 of us. The concept art looks nothing like any Godzilla film before. It looks more futuristic and reminds me of Avatar (blue people). |
