| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- I was able to watch this thanks to a japanese friend of mine I haven't read the manga so I can't say how well it adapted the chapters but damn this movie was amazing.It has everything that makes Mushishi such a masterpiece but now with a movie budget...these visuals <3 This might very well be the most beautiful movie I have ever watched and just seeing Ginko again brought a big smile to my face. I can't even describe how calm I was once the movie was over,it truly sucked me in and I felt at peace.It's the feeling only Mushishi can give me. I will simply rewatch the tv seasons now...again. 10/10 Masterpiece. |

| What a stunning way to end the franchise - this movie was literally perfect. It might not be among my favorite stories of Mushishi, but it ends on a very strong note overall - it really is a shame that this is the last bit we're going to see, now that everything has been animated. I'm going to miss seeing Ginko around - it's been a lot of fun. |

| As amazing as the chapters of Drop of Bells already are, this movie just blew them out of the proportion and proved superior to the manga version. The visuals and the soundtracks were absolutely stunning, let alone the story itself. I have no words to describe how great this was, as it even surpasses the level of a Masterpiece. I shed a tear or two once the movie ended, since there'll be no more Mushishi episodes. From the bottom of my heart, I sincerely thank Urushibara Yuki-sensei and Artland for producing this marvelous piece of art. |

| It's been a long time coming but this was a brilliant end to a brilliant series. I highly doubt I will ever experience something as masterful as Mushishi again. Farewell Ginko. Shall we ever meet again shall be up to the laws of nature to decide. |

| Wow, this really was a great one. The Circle of Light and how this body's effect on the lords were really... quite cruel. How Kaya was taken away twice from her family made it quite sad, especially seeing how she was able to smile. Though the most beautiful aspect of this movie was how Kaya accepted every part about herself, and then with the responsibility that follows. When the bells rang again, the way her brother described the event, how the first time was to him a celebration, yet the second time was a sorrowful experience. I have to say that Mushishi really was a series. How it managed to invoke emotions from its viewers in the most fascinating way that was beyond intriguing. Yet sometimes granting a calm state of mind, that follows with a strange sense of fulfillment. This series will be sorely missed. Haha. |

| That was a really bitter sweet ending but man this film was too amazing in just about every way you can think of.....The emotions were strong as per usual with anything titled Mushishi So this is the end? That's really sad because I don't want to say goodbye to such a wonderful series that I only reentry got into this past 2 years :( |

| Absolutely beautiful. The themes presented during this episode gave me the most closure I could get from an episodic anime like Mushishi. Nakano Yuto is almost like Maria Falconetti, in that he has starred in very few roles (Maria only one) but delivers an incredibly powerful, yet understated performance. I'll miss his soothing voice. I'll see you next in the manga, Ginko. I miss you already ;_; |

| Meh, was hoping for some sort of actual conclusion but instead they made it almost entirely open-ended... well whatever, wasn't really expecting too much from an episodic anime like this anyway. Just felt like any other episode really 5/10 |

| That was beautiful. Ginko was willing to trade his own life in exchange for hers, but Kaya insisted that she will, and will always be, the lord of the mountain instead. After the credits roll, when Ginko told himself that it's time to get going, a thought came to mind that I won't be seeing Ginko anymore after this, huh? Where will the wind take you from here onward? It's a solid 9/10 for me. And when the narrator was speaking before the credits roll, didn't her voice change into....Kaya's voice? o.e Really lovely finale. Sayonara, Ginko. We'll miss you. D: |
| For a moment there, I thought Ginko was going to be the new lord or sacrifice himself for Kaya, which he almost did. Its so cruel how Kaya had to be taken away from her family just when she really hoped to be with them once again. It's over? I was hoping for a closure arc, but nonetheless, beautiful!! Ginko and his cigarette will truly be missed! Hehe |

| Simply stunning, ah how I missed Mushishi. The way the nature - mountains, forests, plants - are portrayed is something magical, combined with ambient nature sounds and soothing music. It just feels so different and far away from other anime. Truly a masterpiece series. |

| Thank you for one of the best and most unique story of all time. No other medium than anime could give us these feels and atmosphere. The way every episode is told is just amazing. Everytime I watch an episode, I am amazed by the fact that always the last few lines in an episode are the best closure an episode could get. "Mountains, beings, and nature's laws are bound by an arrangement, and within it, we live." Really thought-provoking. |
| Fucking beautiful. 40+ minutes of Mushishi beauty. I knew Kaya wouldn't return to normal after all that and although she may be "near", she'll never be the same again. Loved the emotional appeal that combined with elements of fantasy in this to tell a human story. 9/10. Also, that OP song is still fantastic as ever. |

| Great Episode, not one of my favorites but a good farewell to this masterpiece of a series. Although I know that Mushishi is not predominantly about Ginko and more about bis travels and the people and the Mushi he meets on them, I would have loved to see a reunion with Tanyuu(the woman with the black leg) and a final conclusion to the Forbidden Mushi. All in all I will Miss this series greatly and especially its OST. |

| So here we are, Mushishi is officially complete in anime-form. I would have loved to know more about Ginko, but I guess the less known the better when it comes to this series. Sad to see my favourite anime end, but I'm happy to have seen it all, and grateful for such a show to even exist. |

Outstanding movie, definitely above average compared to other episodes. Knowing this will be the last new Mushishi episode I'll ever see, I watched it with a melancholic feeling. Manly tears were shed. |

| A bit disappointed with this final episode, I thought it was about average or so compared to the rest of the series. Liked the idea of a human becoming lord of a mountain but not much happened with that other than she became one, then came back home for a bit, then returned to the mountain. I didn't read the manga so wasen't sure what this finale would entail, mainly I was hoping for something else along with the ending of life continuing on. I wanted to see Ginko visit Karibusa Tanyuu and the fordidden mushi again and see that get resolved, also maybe something more with Ginko either about his past or future, perhaps Tanyuu ending up traveling with him like she wanted. As far as the story as it was, thought it would be cool if Ginko took the girls place as lord of the mountain to save her and it would be sort of like The Legend of Ginko. Also if Tanyuu made a book about all of Ginkos stories for him to be remembered by, whether he returned to see her again or not. I found all of the second season to be not as depressing, most stories had a happy or neutral ending, none that I really found sad like the first season. Maybe next time I watch all these I won't save this one for last. |
| And the story ends... The depth and message of the post-credits scene didn't strike me until a few minutes after I'd finished the movie. That Ginko wasn't just saying goodbye to the mountain but he was saying goodbye to us, that this is end and it's time to move on... as I replayed the final scene, this hit like a brick and I was overcome with truly sorrowful chills. That scene - what a truly beautiful yet painful way to wrap up the story. ;-; I'm not too sure how I feel about the rest of the episode. It's not among the best Mushishi stories - far from it, in fact. I am especially unsure about how content I am with it as a finale to the series as a whole; I was honestly expecting something a little bit more grandiose, complex, and (most importantly) unique, not something that felt like any other Mushishi story. I feel as if I had certain expectations going into this that weren't really fulfilled. I harbored no delusions of seeing Tanyuu again or anything of the like; I just expecting something a little more... overwhelming. That said, it still felt so surreal and enchanting in a way I can't explain. Something about it just... consumed me. It was as if I was lost in the story and couldn't fully process its events. I couldn't think of a better way of concluding this episode's story. Mushishi has always been about its bittersweet reflections; I'm content this shines so strongly in its finale. Said and done, this is a beautiful episode and does no injustice to the series. Mushishi is without a doubt one of the most intricate and beautiful series of all time. I'll miss it terribly. |
