Lol, that was gold. Really liked the sci-fi like ideas with the gimmick this episode.

We also get a bit of Doraemon reference as well. Nice. They are going somewhat old school with these ideas. Overall good episode.

Anyone else get the feeling they'll hafta use Sugie for something at some point? It was funny watching Miyamori go all over creation when he's been there all along. I know they said he was too old but...there's gotta be a reason he's there right? Anyway another enjoyable episode. The Match Girl sequence was the highlight.

Aoi struggling to find someone to help with the key frames.

Seeing how she was when she was interviewed and joining the interviewers staff this time!

You can't get any worse than Tarou xD Wonder how his interview went!

Those companies in Aoi's dream! Kanno! A fun episode, wonder how Aoi is going to get the cuts finished.

Interesting episode and a hectic one as well.
Miyamori is very busy as usual and she also has to work on job interviews as well despite being so busy, well from what i can tell the person that seemed most suited in my eyes was the girl with the yellow hair locks.

Seems the key frames is very hard to still find staff for, them again December is a busy month for many companies not just anime.
Well i hope Miyamori succeeds.

Another thing i am wondering about is.
How many speeding tickets will an anime company have at the end of the season seeing how they drive.

Ah, "Kanno" is obviously Hideaki Anno, director of NGE. But I think many viewers will miss the full connection here.

Back in the day, a certain Hayao Miyazaki was in a desperate situation. At the end of a large project, there was several difficult key frames, and he was completely out of animators. That's when a young man with no history in the industry walks in and says he'll do them. And Miyazaki hires him, and he does a good job. Which is how Anno got started in the animation industry. Similarities should be obvious to the situation in this episode.

She got hired too, they showed her training with Takanashi. And telling a senior at her work to shut up during one of her first days. In Japan.

Think of how the other candidates must have been for Takanashi to be the best one.

Japan and they damn copyrights.
I mean, it's just a reference, if it was me I would be more than happy to see references to my work (as long as I knew that they where made, so that I could check them and smile).

So next episode enters a famous person.

Solid episode. The show sorta has some pacing problems but it's not unbearable.

Looks like the predicament with episode 13 is getting more and more intricate as more issues regarding production arise. Wouldn't be surprised if Miyamori loses it by the delivery time.

Tarou also got more screen time after not seeing a very prominent appearance from him in a while. There to lighten up the show when you need him, even in Erika's minor breakdown, which I hope they delve into more next episode if they have the opportunity to.

Also, those copyrights.
Why do people have such bad taste? Anime isn't subjective anymore.

Wow, that's good to know! I love how this anime is as realistic as possible. And I can't stop laughing with that Match Girl reference. And I have to say, I love the monologue between the "doll" and the "white bear". It's cute every time they are inserted when Miyamori is stressed.

Agree with everything you said and then some. The little Match Girl reference was seriously the best, as were those mosaic-covered anime studio characters.

I'm glad that they even used real-life back stories for this show. And I've noticed how none of the episodes thus far on this show have had poor frames or un-synced faces. They really go the extra mile to practice what they preach don't they?

Another great episode!

Exodus is in its final stages, with a bunch of key frames left to do. Loved all the references, even if I only got a few of them. I wonder who Musani ends up hiring since a few people will be leaving. Also, I hope this Kanno person is Hideaki Anno as well, and I hope he voices the character as well (even though I won't push my luck haha).

"No matter who we hire they'll still be better than Tarou".

- Literally the most honest and true words ever to come from an anime.

Tarou still worst character of 2014. And 2015 too since this is 2 cour.

Speaking of which, I don't know how I feel about this being 24 episodes. It's not bad, but it's not good either. Really just a filler show to watch every Thursday. Oh well, cant be any worse than World Trigger being 50 episodes.

And it's nowhere near as painful as PA's last project...........

Lack of animators, due date, number of cuts, that's a lot pressure put on Miyamori. Even just fining someone to do 3 cuts is hard.

Miyamori hitting the steering wheel with her head and causing it to beep lol.

Don't know why you guys complained about this being 24 episodes, we're now at 11 and barely finished the Exodus arc. If it ends now then the story would be incomplete since we still have to deal with Miyamori and her club mates making their own anime. I don't think this could be achieved within 1 cour even if they cut down the whole Exodus production arc.

Lots of awesome references as usual and we got a new cute character. That NGE director though.. I wonder how all these people being parodied felt XD

Question: Was the censoring of the other anime references pixelated from the start as a kind of a gag and also a way to actually not violate copyright OR were the references originally NOT cencored and they added in the pixelation afterwards?

Other than that, once again a great episode!

Miyamori's struggle to find animators is praiseworthy. Finally, she'll meet a great one soon, NGE's director!

Lol'd at how even people at Musani thinks of Tarou's level. Indeed, anybody is better than him. XD

Poor Yano.. Hopefully, her dad will be alright. But her temporary leave means more work for Miyamori. I think she'll never really get a proper break.

Good episode. Those pixelated characters though.. Learning from episode 6, or a deliberate way to show copyright problems in Japan (or anywhere in that sense)?

Not sure if anybody noticed, but in Tarou's figurine collection, I swear I noticed a brunette-haired Yotsuba at around 6:39.

Poor Aoi though. Struggling to find animators that have the time to produce some or maybe all of the required cuts and with 12 days to go as well. Must be pretty stressful. The anime and studio references during Aoi's search was great!

Tarou has fallen to a new low, being told to shut up by the newly recruited staff member. XD

Haha Aoi's interview was funny, reminds me of my recent interviews for intern...Nabe-P was having fun watching Aoi's inexperience with the interview. He was funny too when she barged in his mahjong sesh with fellow animation industry peeps. But anyways, poor Aoi having to go through so many calls and visits to find animators. Production is tough.

This was a great episode! Miyamori got development, and the interview process was introduced a bit. But why was Tarou having one of the applicants drive him some where? (You can message me if you have an answer) Some of the interviewees were painful to watch though...

So many references in this episode though even the Little Matchstick Girl which Japan seems to love for some reason.

I am definitely interested in seeing the Anno stand in character. it would be cool if they could get him to voice the character, but I doubt that will happen, but I've been surprised before.

I wonder how they are going to work with Yano's dad though?

I agree she looked much more reliable than the other candidates.
But... the schools often teach their students how to sell themselves to the companies and what she said there could be a prescribed story written by the instructor of the school for those who want to have a job as a coordinator or a assistant of the industry.
As for the girl, she brought the proof of her old activity there so I think I can believe her to some extent but it is not always reliable when a candidate tells you a solid and detail story.
