Also for a show about assassins, it took them long enough to kill someone. I was expecting Mirai Nikki, and I'm not getting Mirai Nikki.

This is closer to Another than Mirai Nikki, although both of those have supernatural in it, Mirai Nikki also got 26eps rather than 13 to fully flesh out the story so it's hard to compare.

Since it's a battle royal style anime, I was expecting some insane mind-fuck story altering plot twists like in Mirai Nikki...sadly this is not the case whatsoever.

hey there's still like 6 more eps so maybe we'll get a twist at the end. It was never some world-altering plot though anyways.

The major problem I see in this anime is the poor execution, which was more visible in this ep.
That said, I really liked the idea behind this episode in particular, if only it had a better execution.
Still, favourite episode so far.
And poor glasses girl (whatever was her name?), all other assassins so far had a theme and a meaning to their characters, except her (unless she comes back).

Wow, all three of my favorite characters died in one episode. Seriously, what the hell man. Anyways, the girl with the pink hair is still alive so it's ok. I'm actually very surprised on how well they excuted the Romeo and Juliet sucide scene! I almost cried.

I don't think their deaths were "meaningless" per se. If they had both gotten out alive (through failing their assassination attempts), they likely wouldn't have been able to live happily with each other. As Azuma said, they are both assassins, and mutual enemies at that. There is also the undeniable fact that Hitsugi killed Chitaru's teacher's daughter. Even if they got out and Chitaru spared Hitsugi's life, Hitsugi likely wouldn't be able to live with the guilt (since she treasures Chitaru so much), and Chitaru would have a hard time looking at Hitsugi the same way. With Hitsugi being a serial killer already and Chitaru's fierce loyalty to her teacher, they likely would've ended up fighting each other anyway.

I guess in a way, their deaths were pretty pointless to the story as a whole though.

Meanwhile, I'm not convinced that Shiena is dead. She still has an ending song and it's not like a lot of poison entered her body either.

Would've been more emotional if I had time to get attached to these characters. As a standalone, the death scene was actually done quite well.

Chitaru was one of my favourites. Kinda sucks to see her go.

(-_- #) what the fuck was that? It had potential, but failed. No explanation, no back story? Why was she angel trumpet? Why did she kill that girl? Why did she want to be killed? Too many questions with zero answers.

I know all that but it was meaningless.. there are stuff that could have been done. Hitsugi kills for her own needs not for money and not for others so why kill herself? And Chitaru wanted to bring a smile back to her sensei, was she able to do so by suicide? I doubt it. There are too many plot holes so to say xD.
Even though I understand they 2 "loved" each other it did not seem to be such a powerful love to kill themselves, not like Romeo and Juliet.
As of Shiena.. it doesn't matter if she is dead or not (though by what I understood from the anime she is not) but it doesn't matter because she already gave her letter of "look behind I'm gonna kill you in 48h" and she failed by being sent to the hospital and she definitely did not get out of there in time as Hitsugi gave her letter at the same time and her time limit passed a few hours after she died.

Wow... 3 people died in this episode...

I feel bad for Shiena though.

I mean seriously, she didn't even get to do that much and she's gone already.

Any way, good ending though, kinda hoped for it and it happened.

Six episodes and Tokaku-san's still a virgin assassin. Maybe she'll actually kill one of her classmates later on in the series.

Kaiba metioned something about how to slice watermelons properly in the preview. Just who would be next? (Hopefully not Banba, yet.)

So cheesy & so predictable... it would have been a far more powerful scene had these two been build up better. All this time I thought they were already related in some way, turns out they were strangers who were attracted to each other. As many have experienced, I too felt nothing when they died.

There's also the question as to how someone like Chitaru who's acquainted with decent people (teachers and lawyers) became an assassin in the first place. It's the same question as to how a girl with seemingly normal upbringing like Haruki was even an assassin. It's almost like they couldn't find enough people and just picked random people with some fighting ability.

God this show is so rushed, if they just took their time a bit I feel I'd like it a lot more.

I guess the ending was sad, but it was pretty silly. They barely built up the relationship between these characters, so I don't know why it randomly expects me to accept they'll die for each other. Romeo and Juliet got a whole play devoted to their relationship, these two got a rushed 20 minute anime episode.

I'm quickly starting to figure out that Tokaku is the only person with a functioning brain cell between these characters, everyone tries to assasinate Haru in the stupidest ways, I mean she put POISON on the prop swords! Hey I know a much better way to kill someone, and it's no where near as contrived, it's called a gun.

I think I was supposed to feel something at the end of the episode *shrugs* This show is really in dire need of character development. I like Chitaru a lot and it's such a waste that her death seemed meaningless :/

Shiena's elimination was kind of an unexpected comedic relief haha. She issues the notice, gets done in by Hitsugi, gets hospitalized...oops time's up you're out of the game lmao.

I don't think we'll ever get anything meaningful from this anime if they keep up the "Assassination of the week" formula.

Oh the irony. At the becoming of the episode, I actually thought that Kirigaya was going to kill Namatame, but I prefer the ending they went with better. Since they eliminated 3 people this week, something big is probably going to happen soon, but its too bad that Kenmochi didn't get to have her own ending theme.

None of the actions by any of these character make any sense.

Also, I didn't realize I was watching shoujo-ai when I started watching this show at first (synposis seemed kinda interesting). Once I did I had watched too much to stop : D Dunno whether to drop or not.

Oh are you talking about how they got rid of anything worth censoring during the game in the library? I guess that was creative since it was explained by the game, but I'm talking about how in noucome, they censored one of the characters by having a soccer ball blocking what was under the character's skirt, and then someone kicked the soccer ball and a can appeared where the ball was, so it was kind of using objects to censor like how this episode used the leaf.

Yeah, Chitaru taking the poison made this episode awful for me. The anime hasn't had enough character development for me to even care about the bond between her and Hitsugi. Chitaru came here to get revenge for her mentor and this happens? Yikes.

Yeah I realize you were talking about that, I just remarked that the NGNL example is newer, since you said "since NouCome". Also it's not just original because it's explained by the game, but because it entirely removes what censoring is there to obscure. It's in essence making fun of how ridiculous censorship rules are. Also, it's funny because it means that the bluray won't be "uncensored" :-p

Your right, but I think I used the wrong word choice when I said unique censoring when I meant the specific type of cencorship with objects that "casually" move to censor the body

When Shiena got the boot:

When Hitsugi is revealed to be Angel Trumpet:

Oh. O_O

When our lovely couple committed suicide together:

Alright I take that back Hitsugi. You and Chitaru broke my heart.

Why should send in cow with all the rush? The plot is not bad, if it was very "airy" storytelling.
People who lose potential under it.
Not bad at the end of the episode, despite having a structure almost identical to the type of narrative.
I am also a little sad for the end of Kirigaya and Chitaru, poor Shiena has not even begun his work.
Very beautiful designs, also the animations were decent.

Well I for one think it was a well done episode, especially that whole analogy with Romeo and Julliet.
And I mean, yeah, sure it was "executed" a little too quickly, (get it? :>D) but you can't really blame them considering how slow-paced the manga was

Damn, right in the feels. T_T

I loved how they reenacted real parts of Romeo and Juliet, then put their own, cruel twist on it while still following the story. Pulled my heartstrings right out of my chest.

I still can't get over the fact that it was Kirigaya herself that threw herself onto the blade. Could totally tell Chitaru was resisting...

That background music while the whole was happening made the scene. Without it, it really wouldn't have been the same.
