Hey again! Good to see that I have made you want to rewatch sangatsu to some degree haha. Honestly, thinking back to sangatsu, the more I appreciate it. As I am writing this, I just dropped chainsaw man, and what I realised is that a lot of modern anime lives off of fetishes. I have noticed this in other anime such as made in abyss and akebi-chan, but it's really become evident to me after watching chainsaw man... So in contrast, sangatsu was just so appropriate and respectful. It seems to be a rarity these days haha

Bocchi is awesome. I highly recommend that you check it out as it is a very easy watch. The show is probably one of the best comedic focused series I have seen in a while. Almost every joke hits hard. It is animated by very passionate people, the number of artstyles they use per episode is very unusual, but highly appreciated from my behalf. The comedy is better than the drama, but even the drama is above par. There is a subtle character develop for the main character bocchi, which is really naturally done. It's a tight package, especially since the music in the show is very well done, and detailed to an impressive degree. I am torn to given it a 7 or an 8, but I'll see when I finish it whether it's worth an 8 or not! The real star of this show lies in the main character and if you relate to her in some way, it's even better! I personally don't relate as I'm not such an introvert like her, but I can understand her struggles nonetheless!

Hey man, apologies for the late reply! I have had quite a bit of traffic on my mal page recently so it took a while to get back. I agree 100% with your view on the tone shifts, especially with my first experience of the series. The Kawamoto's where when I first realised the 'tone shifts' of the series. But as you said, they served as a clear representation of the shift in energy in their household compare to the lone, desolate atmosphere of Rei's own place. I could definitely appreciate that aspect the second time around!

I would say Rei was my favourite, especially because of how he changes over the course of the series from a 'lone wolf' to a true, supportive friend. However, I loved so many characters from that show. Shimada, especially in the first season, was an absolute star. I LOVE his backstory from the rural side of Japan. Those episodes had such an intense atmosphere about them that even the first time I watched it I remember loving it! I also really loved Rei's teacher, Takashi. His banter with Rei was so lovely to watch, and I love how he supported indirectly the Kawamoto's. That aspect was handled so beautifully!!! And finally, the entire cast of the Kawamoto's.... How can you pick just one! Hina was a standout character, but Akari and Momo had their own charms. Honestly, everytime I think of them I just get reminded of this warm, comforting atmosphere that was present in their home. The soothing colours of orange hues, the delicious meals, the cats making a mess of things... Just such a serene environment that always felt like a treat.

Nothing else to add to it! The longer I let it sit, the more I love sangatsu! Truly the best show to come out in a very long time!!

Hey man, thanks for the comment! Yes, sangatsu was an absolute treat this time around. I was really surprised by how much I liked the first season compared to when I first tried it 6 years back. I remembered the show as being quite forgettable, with strong tone shifts and a strongly introspective outlook (to a fault). But of course I was completely wrong. The first season turned out to be such an elegant, meticulously planned experience with an outstanding cast of characters and practically perfect audiovisuals. There was really very little to complain about. Episode after episode, there was either a brilliant exploration of a character, or an excellent portrayal of a shogi battle, both of which were equally engaging. In terms of the first season, the ending scene brought tears from my eyes, which is very rare for me to do. But... that second season. Somehow they managed to up everything from before. Even stronger audiovisuals, deeper more nuanced exploration of the characters, less time spent on shogi battles to focus on the struggles of the cast. It was an instant favourite, and definitely one of the easier shows to recommend to most people out there. I don't know what I disliked about it on a first watch because there is practically nothing I dislike about it now. Yes, the comedy can be quite intense, but most of the time it was quite hilarious. Rei is an introspective character and does overthink things, but many people do as well. Seeing Rei overcome stuggles and grow was a truly gratifying experience, and I wish a third season would have come out already. It's one of the only reasons why I don't have the second season a 10/10 - because it's not finished. The manga has lots more of the story yet uncovered, so I don't feel that sense of completion when I finished it!

Honestly I have no idea, maybe they're a group or sth? And yeah modding communities are fucking blessed for both fixing and enhancing games when devs don't bother.

Nah, Symphonia was my favorite overall video game for the longest time lol. And yeah I can definitely see someone saying that tbh, I definitely feel that way about Replicant and Automata and my top favorite games in general.

Honestly, a lot of Tales games have amazing stories, like Abyss, Symphonia, Berseria, Vesperia, list goes on really. Tales games are mostly character-driven so it depends on how attached you are to the characters overall.

Yep it's a mix of both the aftermath of Covid and people losing their mind due to it, which both ended up having a negative impact on my plans/life.

As for me, i mostly lost my motivation for everything really, i've only been keeping up with my on-going favorite works(Jojolion, OPM) and barely reading or rereading stuff from time to time. I haven't watched anime in a long long time, read and reread some comics about 2 or 3 weeks ago, which was fun, and i haven't read any new manga for quite some time now, and even fell behind some of the works i've been following. As for gaming, as you can tell that the entire industry has been affected by covid and the release of games i'm waiting for got delayed unfortunately(Elden Ring, Hollow knight Silksong and Hellblade 2). And i haven't been playing much lately, i should get around to playing Nier remake which i have been waiting for, and RE8. But the standout of these last two years for me is definitely Hades, knowing Supergiant i was expecting it to be a great game, but it completely blew me away and immediately got into my top 10, it's one of the best fictional works i've ever experienced and a true definition and representation of the gaming medium that uses the medium to its fullest potential. It doesn't stop or get stale for even a second, and keeps on renovating and reshaping itself, with a narrative that is full of heart and passion, i absolutely love it. Highly recommended.

Some other games i played, Doom Eternal which was good and fun, Streets of Rage 4 which brought me back the good oldschool vibes of the series, enjoyed it alot, Crusader Kings 3 which is a masterpiece. RE3 remake wasn't as good RE2R unfortunately, it felt too short and less focused for its own good. I also watched TLOU2 on youtube and it was terrible. I played more but these come to mind right now.
