I think the puppet show scene was genuinely hilarious and I also like how the relationship of Kyoko and Godai is slowly building up. I'm loving this show so far and I really hope it keeps it up.

Geez, what do the other tenants do for a living?
It's funny how they randomly just drop in.
"Don't know what you're celebrating, but I got the drinks. Konpai!!"
Haha puppet show was a hit, their relationship is making progress. =)

I was laughing right along with those kids.
The puppet show was approximately 403 times funnier than that in the manga.
Mama Ichinose's laugh is so damn hearty.
The ED is pretty good, but the first ED is my favourite.

This was a really funny episode. The puppet show was great; and, that dance performance with the multicolored body suits that Kyoko stopped to watch was also bizarrely entertaining.

I just kind of realized, red-head like, always has her tits out hahaha

Fan-service, and nobody is getting hit because of it! That's a +1 in my book!

I agree that they're doing a good job building up their relationship. It's gonna be so satisfying when they actually get together!

The puppet show was quite interesting. Hopefully, Kyoko will continue to warm up to Godai.

Hey, where's your usual hate.

I agree, loved the puppet show. Great character interaction, ending was cute too.
Can't wait till they actually get together. I know there will come a point probably midway through where things stagnate, always happens with long running romance anime.

Wow, that puppet show was hilarious when Kyoko got involved lol
Also nice to think that Kyoko may have been in college if she chose a different path in life :)
Godai sure loses his composure easily around Kyoko, he better learn to maintain it in better form ;)
Also, OMG Lum and Ran-chan! :)

Damn that Urusei Yatsura reference at 14:47

I really expected those tenants to mess up Godai's moment to shine, but it was quite a succes...except for the homebrewery club

The kids were like: "wtf is this shit? but it's fun though hahahaha"

Godai was rock hard exited during the play, my man had a foggy brain for sure.

and Goddamn those tenants went hard on those alcohols destroying all kind of livers. Even the brat was like 'mom you're embarrassing me common what are you doing' but at the end he was lying down like he gave in or he took 2-3 shots.

The episode was amazing. From the preview in episode 14 I thought that this might be a tougher episode to watch (I don't like puppets too much), but this was so fun. Kyouko-san exploring the festival and imaging herself at university, it really had something to it.

And the puppet performance at the end was just so funny. I've already been thinking a lot of what rating I would give the show. I'm realizing that in the end, all that matters to me how a series made me feel. With Maison Ikkoku, episode after episode, I just feel calm and happy after watching. With this in mind, I currently can't see myself not scoring Maison Ikkoku extremely high.

The biggest twist of the episode was surely at the very end though. New ending theme!? Oh, how I am going to miss the first ending theme. It's my favourite ending theme in all of the anime I know, only matched by the Honey & Clover ending theme (Suneohair - Waltz).

I'm starting to enjoy all the neighbours making fun of Yuusaku and I can't deny the end was sweet.

That dancing was something and Kyouko enjoying it would explain a lot about her interest in Yuusaku.

The puppet show with Kyoko san became a core memory for Godai san for sure. No man wouldn't enjoy that rubbing and oppai action.

Ichinose san laugh is so contagious :D

That ending was so sweet but even prince Godai got slapped :(

The new ending song is my favorite.

I loved watching different expressions on kids' faces :p ..this show takes care of littlest things so casually and that makes everything alive.. I wish Kyoko had the opportunity to attend college too.. in a way I was hoping she's be inspired to enroll, but guess she will have to carry on her manager duties. The ending was very cute.

I had a feeling the guy above me would pass me eventually lol, with my pacing it was inevitable, cool that another MAL user is going through this show at the same time I am tho. And man this episode was so much fun, haven’t seen many college romance anime but I can definitely say college kids can put on hell of a school festival, it’s a level above high school ones for sure, heck the puppet show which was supposed to be silly even looked impressive. And speaking of the puppet show, once Kyoko became a part of it it became a different level of fun, Yuusaku was probably freaking out on the inside but his goofs during the show really made it hilarious, and the kids were eating it up lol.

And after all the puppet show fun was had, we got one last great moment between Yuusaku and Kyoko with the puppets, it’s funny that once the tenants aren’t around to meddle they can be very sweet together, guess we’re lucky they drank themselves stupid at the college lol. And there’s aome other things I wanted to mention, like Kyoko looking especially cute with her fit and hair braid, definitely one of my favorites looks for her so far, and also very nice Urusei Yatsura cameos in this episode with Lum and Ran being in the Kyoko slideshow, and also the preschooler versions of Ataru, Shinobu and Megane reappearing during the puppet show, the UY fan in me lights up when I see little callbacks like this.

Also very nice new ED, I don’t think it’s quite as good as the first but it is a great one, I believe Picasso also did the ED to the 2nd Ranma 1/2 movie. And as one final note, here’s some trivia from a deadhead, the Grateful Dead played on the day this episode aired on 7/2/86 at the Rubber Bowl (which is no longer there) in Akron, Ohio, a very hot show with a cool sit-in by Bob Dylan, I haven’t heard a lot from 1986 but that is one of them, maybe I’ll listen to some more soon so I can talk about more dead shows in these posts lol.
