I was surprised as well! Who knew AnimeEigo would have a better retro selection than Discotek this time? I'm definitely looking forward to Sasuke the most but, then again, the earlier an anime, the more I'm hyped for it. For example, I'm so mad Tezuka Productions never licensed the subs for Princess Knight, since they already subbed two episodes. The dub for that show was so horrendous I couldn't even watch it.
Qualms aside, it's also great that they are releasing Remi on Blu-ray. Ever since discovering that Magical Princess Persia, despite having an official streaming release so recently, vanished into the ether, I've grown to appreciate physical media more than I already do. And I appreciated it a lot, just not enough to consider buying it if it was on streaming. Nowadays, I may consider it if the show is really good or really niche. (Not that my physical anime collection is that big. I can count it on two hands.)
Thanks for the update. Sad to hear they quit scanlating.
Happy holidays if you celebrate and if not, have a great December and I hope to chat with you again in 2025, hopefully about the newest chapters of Calbania Monogatari.
Thank you so much! I will make sure to check them out. Started watching Cardcaptor Sakura and it's lots of fun. I saw that you watched so many old school anime, I visited your club as well. I was wondering which one would you recommend to watch where there is character development/story progression? I don't mind the monster by episode feeling but I also would like to watch the character grow up and have experiences haha.
Hey˚Sally˚! How’s it going? I came across your profile while I was commenting on the Magic Knight Rayearth forum and couldn't help but take a peek at your anime list. I’m really impressed by the shows you’ve watched—our tastes seem to align pretty well, even if my list doesn’t quite do that justice yet, lol!
I noticed that one of your favorite anime is Futari wa Precure. Did you watch it as a kid, or is it something you discovered later on? I remember catching a few episodes when I was around six, and recently got the urge to revisit it. I’m torn about diving in though—it seems like something I’d love, but I’m not 100% sure. I checked to see if you had written any reviews on it, but didn’t see any. I’d love to hear your thoughts on it and whether you enjoyed it! And if you have any recommendations based on our shared tastes, I’m all ears. You’ve got such fine taste, after all! ♡
I know it's late, but thank you for answering. Your answer that you don't know if you'll like it as much as the original shows how much you truly love the original work.
You're not going to decide not to watch the remakes, and you're open-minded enough to say that you might watch them in the future.
I hope you'll continue to come across great works.
