I hate the main character but this is wayyyyy too interesting to drop. Madhouse animation = FABULOUS.... clamp character designs = awful.

Agreed.

Animation was great, and I'm a bit confused as to whats going on. Looks like this'll be good in any case. :)

And if anything, I'll watch this just to listen to more Nightmare. :3

I'm probably just repeating what many already said...

I loved the animation and art of the first episode and the overal feel of it.

Idon't mind that everything isn't clear right from the first ep on.....that's what makes the mistery, isn't it? :D

Could become a memorable show. Lets hope for the best!

Pretty animation! :D But I think there was too much sakura, they just kept falling and falling and falling and falling.. CLAMP gives us a female Rollo, eeks.

Really liking it so far, great atmosphere, and loved the pseudo-shoujo-ai. The moonlight dancing scene was especially nice.

Also can't get my head around the fact that this has a lower rating than generic crap like Akane-iro ni Somaru Saka. No offense to anyone who likes that, but what the hell.

hmm... well I'm pretty sure we can all agree that this was weird.
I still don't see how this will connect to the guy at the very beginning on the train, but we'll find that out later I guess.
And no, she did not die. Her smile is proof of that. But I feel like it was more of a trick to get Yoriko mentally screwed and alone. Everything Kanako did and said was all to lead Yoriko to that arguably delusional state by the end of the ep. And this was done so no one will notice her if she dies or goes missing? (assuming we're following the synopsis on the MAL page, I'd say that the PI was hired by Yoriko's mother after she goes missing) Hmm.

Great episode. Someone needs to sub episode 2 :(

I really enjoyed the animation. Great contrast to what I'm watching currently.

The two main heroines were very interesting in their own way.

For some reason I got the feeling Yori pushed the other girl into the train because she saw a zit on her? Kindda shattered her image of perfection, and felt like letting her anger out in form of murder? Idk, but serious confusion.

I didn't think of that yet, but it's an interesting thought. The other girl could've done it herself since she knew there was a zit so having Yori push her never crossed my mind. But now I'm even more looking forward to the next episode, thanks!

I had barely any expectations going in but this definitely had what I was looking for hoping I might stumble upon (sempai-kohai relationship + suicide) except I wasn't planning on having a boner for over half the show.

I don't like how it looks (probably due to CLAMP) though. NIGHTMARE was unexpected but I was excited when I heard the first two seconds of the OP. Lost in Blue is a great song in full and I hadn't heard Naked Love before. So w00t! Hundreds of years of naked reincarneted girls = hawt ED.

This is one of those shows I tell myself "I'll drop this but I'll check out 1 or 2 eps since it's new season stuff", but it was unexpectedly nice. Until the end at least, the end was wtf.

Liked it! Not at all what I thought it would be...

Especially the scene with the detective having a nightmare in the train really surprised me since it had nothing to do with the plot, but still was amazingly intense.

looking forward to the next episodes.

creepy. an interesting show no doubt but i don't think i'll watch the rest late at night. hahahah!! however some parts of the story are like so totally random, like the guy in the train with the girl's head stuffed into the box. but then i don't mind since this is the first episode and i am patient enough to watch how the story unravels in this series. oh, this episode really drives home why i was (still am a bit) so terrified of dolls.

Finally something that's poetry to watch. The whiff of once having been literature is strong in this one, sets it apart.

I can't think of anything bad to say about it at all so far.

It was ok for a first episode. I'm just intrigued by the ending and what did Kanako mean by reincarnation. There's so many mysteries things in this episode.

Has a nice mysterious dark feeling to it. I like this type of thing, just hope it won't get boring in the process because of too much slow rhythm.

I guess that detective in the end will be the main character in the series and from now on we will follow him.

They certainly didn't give us all the answers from the first episode but there was nothing really that complicated. I don't get why people had a hard understating it. The most weird thing is probably the head in the box in the first scene. Was it really alive? Well i guess they will explain in the future if such thing is possible and why.

Generally the main character of this episode was a stupid girl. Her mother didn't really looked to me to be a bad person despite the bad way she was presented to us threw the eyes of the girl. It seemed like she despised her simply because she was getting old. She had an obsession with perfect eternal beauty. But it is very likely that her mother had a hand in her daughter developing such obsession, because if you watch your mother all day in frond of the mirror putting staff on her face in a desperate try to look younger such things come to your mind. We all want to stay young and beautiful but this girl took it to the next level and it had the perfect friend on that weird rich girl.
The rich girl escape to her fantasies of angels and reincarnations are probably her way of trying to escape the stressful life that she seemed to have been going through.

At the end i think that she pushed her because she saw the zip and her perfect image of the rich girl was ruined. But very probably the rich girl let her see it so she will push her because she couldn't jump by herself.

I got the feeling that the one girl pushed the other in front of the train. She was the only witness. I was thinking maybe she was so distraught by the pimple that she killed her friend in order to keep her from aging and losing her beauty? or something like that...

So I'm sure it wasn't just me but the whole time I was expecting them to just start making out. There where so many moments where she had that bedroom eyes look and they got really close...then I got confused by that pimple thing, which I suppose made sense since she thought of her as being flawless?
Poor baby though for getting hit? I really wanted to know what was on her mind that made her cry(Maybe it was the pimple, who knows) and I was sad that she was hit, but then the smirk at the end got me confused...did she do it on purpose?
I guess I will find out in the next episode. @_@

Whoa, that's a brilliant start imo for this series.

The OP song looks decent so might not skip. I love the premise of the show so far. "The Woman in the Box". Oh, I got the thrills and chills already just from the first three minutes. The piano like OST also gives off a good feeling.

I got some yuri vibes from this though...for the first half.

That first episode was not mind blowing, but it did have it's moments. It was a bit confusing at first, but I'll just have to wait and see what's next. The characters are interesting in there own way, which is good. Something almost supernatural about it, but that instance in the very beginning.... What does it mean. The anime has intrigued me.

I found that more creepy than I imagined I would at various parts. The doll's eyes and mouth moving in particular. It's done a good job of making me interested as to what's going on and what'll happen next.

Also the animation and art was really nice, unexpectedly so.

Well, story aside (one of those super-slow paced ones...), the atmosphere is incredible. The animation, the camera work, the movement and gestures (HQHQHQ), and the colors... I'm also liking the OP.

Much more creepy than I imagined, at some moments I expected something to pop out and scare me, but that didn't happen... now if only this were a horror, ha. Would be a good one. o.o

Well, to me it looks like the braid girl killed the other girl, because she had gained a flaw. And she had to be forever flawless, unlike her aging other. And her subconscious is denying her.

I think they tried too hard to create mysterious athmosphere without even making a build up to the character, which made the whole first epiosde kinda boring. First at the end where stuff is finally happening i kinda got interested. The part with the guy in the train having this nightmare was definitly the best scene in the entire episode. The rest was just 2 chicks taking way too much crack and talking absolute nonsense.

Not sure what's going on, to be fair I was kinda feeling bored throughout the episode.
I was more interested in the first scene in the train (head in the box) than the girls that are each others reincarnation.

I guess I'll see where this is going.
