Heiru said: its the like the royal blood thing back then in England I guess he wants the Gray Wolf blood in he's family line, so yeah, I guess that's why he did that?
I don't think he wants their blood in his family line. He didn't marry Cordelia. He had a wife and heir already (assuming that Grevil is older than Victorique). He abused them both, condemning Cordelia to a psychiatric institution and imprisoning Victorique in solitary confinement. So it probably isn't a family thing.
Du Blois wants a unique tool and weapon. Victorique is that to him. He is about to put her to work.
Grey Wolves aren't typically seen wandering around in normal society. Cordelia is unique because of her history. Du Blois immediately recognised what she was and seized the opportunity in a most evil way.
For all his wickedness, he has strategic vision and is able to look far ahead and act without hesitation. While he knows that the Grey Wolves have mystical qualities, your average person either doesn't know what they are, or is afraid of them if they do.
Heiru said: On another note, it's nice how Victorique's been getting some new clothes lately. She was wearing the same outfit throughout the first half of this series, but now she's already had like 3 different ones in only the last few episodes.
This is true. I hope they use the blue and pink striped outfit from the ED. I dunno why but it strikes me as something I've seen in paintings before.
KaitoDash said: The Marquis turned out to be an absolute asshole who is even worse than I imagined. What a tragedy they all went through because of his insanity. Ajunky said: Indeed... I thought he had somehow maliciously seduced her but he didn't even bothered with such pleasantries. He abducted, raped, confined, separated her from her daughter and disposed of her to a sanatorium... he definitely earned a horrible karmic death. My bet is Grevil will be the carrier of that judgement. He'll continue to obey his father to betray him at the most critical point. I can't see him agreeing with his father's ways... besides, he said it himself, the hair drill is nothing, he knows that what he owes Victorique is worth a lot more than that.
I think Grevil is a great secondary character. I can also see him intervening on Victorique's behalf. Not because he owes her, or even because he likes her. I think he has mixed feelings about her. But because he's a decent person and he's been changed a bit through his interactions with the Dark Reaper.

"Ew, She's dirty!"
"She got up!"
I found these lines to be funny. I was expecting someone to say, 'There she goes.' after Victorique continued on her way. But none of the un-named students have been impressive in any way throughout the whole season, so I never expect them to say anything intelligent.
DenjaX said: So Grevil is the son of a different mother and not Cordelia. He's a step brother of Victorique. Good to know.
Victorique mentions it at the end of ep.03 when Kujou complains about Grevil stealing her credit.
13man18 said: So she got raped because Marquis du Blois wanted a child with his blood and the blood of the Grey Wolf, but I'm still confused on this whole Grey Wolf thing. Cordelia's past is so sad, but she talked like even before she was kidnapped, she had a bad past also.
Du Blois wants to change destiny and believes that with Victorique, he can do so.
Re Cordelia, watch the arc beginning with ep.06. |
