| New episode also means new arc..which also means some new rule changes /events for the tournament. Tatsuya has a sharp mind so of course, he suspects something was amiss about tournament management. Buildup episode but an important one since its up the standards of the arc. Given ths season's vibes, something definitely feels off. This episode also forced schools to change their teams and lineups. Definitely controverial but hey, this arc is just getting started. |

| Let the Steeplechase arc begin! A notification has been circulated to magic high schools nationwide regarding alterations to some events in the upcoming Nine Schools Tournament. Three out of the six events have been modified, indicating that nearly half of them will undergo changes. In response to this sudden alteration, the student council of Daiichi High School will be occupied with comprehending the new rules, reconsidering athlete selections, and adjusting CAD systems. Amidst the widespread discontent about the tournament's management due to the sudden timing adjustments, one month prior to the tournament's commencement, Tatsuya harbored doubts about the pervasive military theme of all the newly introduced competitions. Changing the ED for this arc from Kairi Yagi's to Sangatsu no Phantasia's. Not as great, but still enjoyable. |

| Steeplechase arc here we go! "Gynoid" is a real thing apparently, didn't know that. Also since when is Kudou with black eyes former head? Iirc he was the head in season 1. Nine Schools Competition, huh. I'm getting season 1 flashbacks. It's now written "Steeplechase arc" in the OP. Btw we've barely seen that girl that started living with Tatsuya and Miyuki this season, strange. The ED changed! It's really nice. Everything's really interesting, but I'm not getting how exactly does Kudou plan to use the dolls in the competition 🤔 |

| Using the nine schools comp as a testing ground for the parasites from a certain POV does make sense. The commitee sure pulled a fast one by replacing three of the best events with military themed ones. The cross country one esp shouldn't even be in a high school competition to begin with. Kudo's that the military are also keener than expected. Ah yes the bumping into the Saegusa sisters scene. Nice to finally see that animated. Tatsuya managed to shut down kasumi quite well there. At this point the competition this years gonna be far more tricky. |

the current kudou head setting himself up for failure, will surely affect the Kudou name and standing... incest is wincest but sorry, really wish the author had planned for a legit harem with mayumi in it, would be criminal for her to end up with someone else than tatsuya (copium) new ed is fun. |

| Mahouka Fridays let’s goo. Time for the start of a new arc and after how good double sevens went, I got high expectations for this one. Again, it seems the eyes of the magical world are about to be on the schools. With the nine school competition coming up we’ve got some interesting additions to the competitions.. steeplechase seems like it’s going to be an insanely tuff challenge for the kids, especially with the mechanical dolls planned to be tested during it. As usual, a ton of political negotiations going on behind the scenes with the JDF, magicians and other parties. Honestly kinda got overwhelmed at some points with the info dumps and various alliances, but I do know it all hinges on the nine schools competition so can’t wait to see that play out. Gonna seem kinda dumb cause of all the worldbuilding during this ep being so good, but my highlight was Saegusa in her swimsuit and her little sisters hanging out with Tatsuya and Miyuki. Mayumi looked AMAZING 😩 knew she was stacked but damn. Izumi still fan girling every time she sees Miyuki never fails to make me laugh. Then Kasumi being unnecessarily rude to Tatsuya.. made her ass look real dumb when he said she was on a date with her sisters as well 😂 it’s funny how she’s like the complete opposite of her big sister. Luckily for her Tatsuya didn’t take it to heart. Great episode, can’t wait for the next one. Studio are cooking. Truly Mahouka szn. |

| The steeplechase arc begins and with a new ending song too which was good. Everyone's plans are in motion, all I can say it's gonna cause a big commotion and it'll be upto the GOAT to stop it. Always love to have more Mayumi and this time in a swimsuit, so lovely. Her reactions were very amusing and that scream, cute. Was fun watching the twins interactions with Tatsuya and Miyuki. Miyuki pouting also cute. |

| It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it, is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service. |
| These characters are so bland and not memorable... I remember that i enjoyed the 1st season but the rest is just boring. Somewhat okay fight scenes but thats all |

| I don't think I should have read the wiki. I didn't remember whether Kudou Minoru was introduced yet or not and looked him up, leading down the rabbit hole to discover that he's I guess he's lucky he didn't get any deformities like a 3rd arm growing out of his forehead or something. Always nice seeing Saegusa Mayumi...I was worried there would be very little appearances from her now that she's already graduated and is a university student. Tatsuya being sly with pulling the reverse uno card. Seriously though...what were you insinuating here, Kasumi 🤨? Kudo Makoto, the disgusting creep...meets with the Chinese spy and openly welcomes the foxes into the henhouse despite knowing he could be dangerous. And did he just pull out a freaking floppy disk?? You'd think they got better technology a hundred years into a sci-fi/magical future. Normally the ED isn't changed so early, until the mid-season at least...nonetheless, I'm not complaining. Looks like we're moving into the next arc with the Nine Schools competition. Loving the new ED theme, even if I didn't recognize all the characters like the two on the far left and right wearing the kimono at the very end, who are half cut off. The parasites on the painted screen doors look really monstrous. I wonder if the maid-parasite Honoka bot Pixie is going to play a role here too. |

| In the midst of all this plot getting thicker stuff, we see they managed to keep up the fanservice with Saegusa in a bikini, like WOW. Her little sister is beginning to question our MC's Sweet Home Alabama relationship with his sister. Uh Oh. |

| Alright I got a few seconds of Erika and Shizuku this week I'll take that. No need to mention Mayumi... SHEESH. Let's see what happens with these parasite dolls, I hope we get to see a major pop off soon. Seems like Tatsuya isn't gonna be able to just be a student for much longer. New ED is nice, I like Sangatsu no Phantasia quite a bit. Glad to see them get some music in this season. |
| Thing are properly shifting up a few gears now with the Nine Schools Competition fast approaching, where some event changes compared to the previous competition back in season 1 does have a lot of people concerned. The info dump was pretty heavy, but it does give me a better idea as to see who will be doing what before as well as during the competition itself. One thing I can see happening is the tension being on a far higher level than normal. As for the rest the episode, us fans were blessed with the sight of Mayumi trying out a sexy white bikini, where Tatsuya happened to be at the right place at the right time to see for himself before he covered his eyes. I never get tired of this trope! XD The twins were also pretty cute as well, with Izumi gushing over the fact that Tatsuya and Miyuki were shopping together, whereas Kasumi tried, and failed, to succeed in berating Tatsuya for the same reason. These interactions made this episode even more enjoyable overall. |

| This series has one of the most unproductive and uninspired politics in all of anime. They just like to do that, so they do that, and somehow we're supposed to believe it's "worldbuilding". Saegusa in swimsuit was WOW tho. |

| As good as the incest is (only Mahouka gets me to say this) I am deeply rooting for Saegusa x Tatsuya to become an official ship. That beeing said, Miyuki blushing when Kasumi said they look like they are on a date is definitely kino. |

| Okay, nice buildup for this new arc, they're changing the events from the tournament to fit the anti magic policy and pro military one, meanwhile there are a lot of background cooking... Shopping part in the middle of all of that was fun, nice swimsuit from the teacher ahah. Also the new ED is much better imo |

Miyuki is as cute as usual. It's a shame the militarised sporting events in the Nine Schools Competition will undermine all the progress made towards demonstrating the civil utility of magicians that the fusion reactor test made. Kudou and his parasite dolls are a menace. |
