@CottonModem I am not surprised. Even considering Konoha to be a hardcore fan of Bishoujo games, she is used to plenty of hardware computing power, resources and portability, high DPI input peripherals, GUI, 24-bit color and software like Adobe Photoshop, which does Floyd-Steinberg dithering. It is easy to forget the 1990's hardware and software.
@leonardobarba It was more that she didn't seem to have ever looked closely enough at the art that inspired her as an illustrator to notice the dithering patterns. Especially if she ever compared it to her own art. Just an excuse to explain it to the viewer I guess.

She was, of course, born after 2000 though. I should be thankful she didn't ask why people were copying things around via a 3D-printed save icon...

That ending caught me offguard, she's back already? Btw nice episode, liked it a lot more than the first. Also 16 bit sensation as in the 16 colors.

@CottonModem Konoha is not a lost case; she knows what a floppy disk is... (laughs)

@MegamiRem Yes, it seems. On the next episode, how much Konoha's work in the past will affect the future? About the 16-bit, it is related to the 16-bit processors and Operating Systems; for a comparison, today, both ones are 64-bit. About the 16 colors, it is related to 1990s computers' video hardware and monitor, which could display 16 colors from a fixed or a customized palette.

Very interesting look on the artistry on CG art scenes back in 90's. So they only got to use 15 colors huh instead of 16 but the end result looks really good or even better than the modern one ngl. Konoha's voice is still pretty high on crack but I think I starting to get used to it. Nice talk on the bishoujo's impact on otaku industry to convince Mamoru. That was surely quite a cliffhanger. Really cute episode.

@EcchiGodMamster You are right. Art style apart, the oldest Bishoujo games are from the 1980s, which, of course, had the art style of their decade... During the 1990s, computers had enough hardware processing power and resources to allow a pleasurable Bishoujo game experience.

@VivaceRex Keep in mind screen resolution was much lower on 1990s computers.

@leonardobarba

Yeah ofc... I never said otherwise

I was talking about the artstyle of the games

Why are they using 2000s artstyle in 1992 unless the plot twist is maybe that someone from the 2000s also went back in time?

Great episode, was over in an instand.
Considering Konoha was born in 2004 I guess that we can give her praise just by knowing what a floppy disk is, even if she somehow expected Photoshop and drawing pads being a thing on that time.

Back to the present, I wonder if something will change for her meddling, I doubt the script has the guts to make something like "and just like that, fuck gacha, VNs are still king now".

Will she end up working for Key? Would be awesome, but kinda don't want to watch Key as their full lewd era.

The very annoying voice and seemingly poor localizations aside, this wasn't too bad. I just wish there was a better main character, someone whose personality is not grating to watch through. Because beyond that, lot of interesting little details were showcased in the past and how their bishoujo games were produced and drawn and just how culturally different times were then compared to how much it has evolved to the present day. Even the cliffhanger with Konoha returning back does leave some intrigue as to how that functions. I don't know about this show honestly...

gosh, this 2 episodes we fun. If only the OP and ED were based on 90s jpop and japanese newjackswing, and if the character design were closer to retro stuff like CS-ware... but I guess that would be asking too much

I love how the ED song is very reminiscent of the songs bishojo games used up have. Especially with Shinji Orito and Nakazawa Tomoyuki teaming up again since their Key days. Love to hear it! KOTOKO too.

Finally we have the complete opening and ending, they are very good. What a laugh Konoha and the expressions she has make me laugh, the poor thing is very anxious, but when she wants to explain things about the future and they don't believe her, she gets desperate very easily, poor thing fhdsf. Anyway, after those last 2 minutes of the chapter, I'm not sure if the next episode she will be able to go back to the past, or if she will have it as a memory to deal with those people she met when she went back in time, but in the present, very intriguing.

Im really liking this series so far. As someone who really likes visual novels from the 90s-2000s, I like to think that the main character's characterization was intentional because it resembles that of a typical girl from a bishojo game, and I noticed that they've dropped in references and visual novel tropes throughout the show so far. I don't know if any of those details were intentional, but if they were, I love it so much, and it makes me much more interested in the series than I already am.

Konoha is a bit annoying because of her really high voice and exaggerated reactions, but at the same time I don't mind her because I like that she resembles a bishojo game character a lot. If that was intentional, that was a really clever choice This series overall is bringing me a lot of nostalgia from when I was just getting into anime at 10-11 years old and being really into moe anime girls.

Looking forward to seeing what happens next!!!!

Mad respect to anyone who draws with a mouse that too on that old computer. I once tried drawing with a mouse since I don't own a tablet and it was really hard I eventually gave up and started drawing on my phone with my finger lol, my drawings suck though.

She could've shown them her phone and tablet to prove she was from the future lol sad that she finally found true happiness to just end up back in the present. That sucks. She cries waaay too damn much bro.

Easily AOTS. I don't even know when these 20 minutes passed. ED song stated playing just after few minutes. At least it felt like this.

Anyway, when I discovered PC98 visual novels I was shocked too that 16 color art can look this insanely good. Kono Yo no Hate de koi o utau shoujo YU-NO (my favorite VN and generally my favorite story ever) had phenomenal art quality.

@bankai_shinji if anything, I'd pick Kusuriya no Hitorigoto. I was already bored with Spy x Family in the middle of last season.

I'm hooked!

I'm also hooked on how they presented on how to create 2D games back then.

It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.
