It was a great reunion. It's nice to see Setsuna have emotions too.

SixTONES is back for the new OP for the 2nd half, and it's cool and slick, I like it! Probably the best OP out of the 4 OPs in this series. adieu's ED is a calm one, and shall I say, good?

Riku and Rion's chapter may be done with Zero, as so with Sesshomaru's daughters Towa and Setsuna, but Moroha's chapter is just as important, now that Kirinmaru wants to get Akuru for his own gain.

Kirinmaru vs. Moroha is nothing, but vs. Sesshomaru and the half-demon daughters is another thing. Kinda already knew that Sesshomaru is quite strong in and of himself, but trapping the daughters in the same Black Pearl delays their fight and (obviously) stretches time for more development.

The reunion between parents and child though, that finally did it though after a long time of separation. The whole family of Inuyasha, Kagome and Moroha and reunited, that was a long time coming!

Shippo is next!

This is the kind of episode you love to see! Covered all the bases bringing us back for this final cour of Yashahime. Kirinmaru and Sesshomaru facing off for real this time now that Rin is free and safe. Moroha wanted that revenge all to herself but we could see that she couldn't take Kirinmaru down. Sesshomaru kept him at bay till the girls jumped his ass, then things went sideways with Kirinmaru unleashing that giant dark fireball attack. Sesshomaru ate the attack like it was nothing for a second but it's absorbing his power or something. That's bad news if the heaviest hitter is out for a while with this much time left in the show. Maybe Rion and Riku can take Kirinmaru down with something from the mountain where Rion previously was trapped. The girls being sucked into the black pearl takes them off the board too. Thankfully that leads to Moroha finally being able to see her parents. Its been teased and built up and its finally here! Kagome hugging her daughter was so sweet, first inspecting to make sure but knowing. Looks like next episode we get even more Moroha family goodness.

Finally we got the reunion, they really nailed it! (also Sesshoumaru is the best uncle, hands down)
Looks like we are getting Shippou back as as well.

I wonder how they'll gonna get out of the underworld. In the OG series Sesshoumaru could go through the underground mountain passage (and bring others out) because he has Tenseiga but he is down now so that's not gonna happen.

I was getting super worried Moroha meeting her parents would take until the final episodes since Kirinmaru took the black pearl, thank god it wasn't the case, that was a lovely reunion and even looks like Shippou is back form the land of the dead next episode.

I loved this episode. Moroha finally met her parents! More family time please! Sesshoumaru saved the girls but he's down. Takechiyo meets Shippou? Then maybe they can figure out a way to break the black pearl's seal. Riku and rion left for Musubi mountains, it seems that rion has a plan. Riku once again confirmed his feelings for Towa, i hope he doesn't die.

Woke up late as hell so just finished the episode and man what an emotional whirlwind. FINALLY we got the reunion we’d all been waiting for and it didn’t disappoint at all. Kagome going from the fake angry to doting face was beautiful.

Lets all take a moment to appreciate Seashomaru growth here too. Can you imagine sesh of old taking a direct hit for those kids? Absolutely incredible how far he’s come, I swear if they kill him off..

We finally got the reunion between Moroha and her parents, and its pretty much perfect. Like how it takes Kagome moment to process that its actually her. And from the preview it looks like Shippo is back as well.

Don't know why but I laughed so hard at the line "Riku sent Zero to heaven" in the beginning.

Oh, I didn't even notice it was Moroha that was narrating this episode at first until a few seconds in. I guess we're now going full steam ahead into her arc with her parents. It really does feel like an Inuyasha sequel now (as opposed to if Sesshhoumaru were hypothetically the protagonist of the prequel series instead).

This episode overall was really good. Moroha going into Beniyasha mode...I'm surprised her rouge hasn't run out yet (or dried out for that matter, despite the thing being around for several decades before being given to Moroha). Setsuna being the one to say that they're friends shows how far she's grown as a character, like the ice in her heart has melted. Setsuna also showing off a new fiery move I don't believe we've seen before. And Sesshoumaru dishing it out against Kirinmaru, alongside his daughters and niece, defending them by taking the full frontal attack head on. And then finally, the long awaited reunion with her parents. Reminds me of the real life stories I sometimes see in the news about children separated from their parents for whatever circumstances like switched at birth, and meeting their parents after several years as an adult. New OP was okay...I'll be honest, I'm not a fan of SixTONES but I don't hate them either. Just not my cup of tea. But I really loved the new ED, especially since they're featured all wearing traditional clothes. It's like this is what they would have looked like, had their fates been different where they never separated at a young age and grew up together in the feudal era. Although I doubt it, I still hope they get to change up their wardrobe more often, as pretty much all the characters are always wearing the same outfit. Even Sango had a change of everyday casual wear that was magenta and green, when she wasn't wearing her black and pink demon slaying outfit in Inuyasha. I don't know, maybe it's just me that's paying too much attention to the fashion.

I'm glad that this show is back after taking a break last week for New Years (and Detective Conan too, I might add). To commemorate it, I'll share this cute official crossover art from those two series:

And a bit of a digression, but some trivia: apparently this isn't the first time Detective Conan crossed over with this series from Inuyasha, because the voice actor does both Inuyasha and Kudou Shinichi:

Looking forward to seeing the next week's episode now. I wonder if Moroha is going to be asking for her New Year's Otoshidama from Inuyasha and Kagome, lol.

I couldn’t watch this yesterday because Crunchyroll decided to be garbage but that episode was so beautiful. I love Inuyasha so much and so glad that this sequel Yashahime exists. New opening and endings are good I personally like the visuals for the ending a lot! We also got to see freaking Shippo in the opening and he’s going to be in next week’s episode I’m hype!

Great ep. I loved the reunion (but it seems we'll see most of it on the next one), however, I was hoping to see the girls meeting Rin first.

PS: there was a little plot hole, Moroha did not fall asleep after using her Beniyasha power up on this occasion.

Well, it took me a little longer than usual to get to the most recent episode, but it was well worth it! That battle with Kirinmaru was not a fair fight, though as much as he deserved it. But anyways, it still led to the reunion that we saw with Mohora, Kagome and Inuyasha. I didn’t know why Kagome got such a stern look there initially, questioning whether or not it was really her. But despite that, it was a very touching moment, being the big reunion at all.

I with the episode preview, could it be that Mohora get into spats with Inuyasha, her father? Oh Mohora, you really have grown up to be just like your father haven’t you? Lol

Well, here’s to that other reunion, and to the next episode as a whole!

As an Inuyasha for life fan, episodes like this make me feel reassured in the knowledge that deciding to watch Hanyou no Yashahime: Sengoku Otogizoushi in October, 2020 beginning with episode one of season one to this day was the correct decision and definitely worth it.

Of course the sequel is nowhere near as good as the original series as masterpieces in the wild are not conjured up from thin air and everything has to go right in a big way for a long while to generate them and frankly, anyone who thought it ever really had a chance to be is a little irrational and delusional on this topic, but I'm absolutely still glad it exists.

The new and second (technically fourth? - if we're counting the first season) OP and ED alone were some of the best of the past year.

Truthfully, I would never recommend this series in isolation and out of context to someone who hasn't watched (and preferably was immensely fond of) Inuyasha as I feel it would just be meaningless, but I have a hard time believing any diehard Inuyasha fan can't extract something of value here. Even if just in the slight expansion of color and detail to the world of the feudal era - youkai and period human interactions, spirits from the age when actual gods walked the Earth eluding the realm of youkai and man alike, another time travel mystery, traveling comrades with a real reason to go to bat to defend one another which didn't just spring up automatically but developed along the way in a manner which bridges their past, present, and futures together, etc.

Like an immature child to their father, Hanyou no Yashahime can't hope, at least anytime soon, to live up to all the feats and legacy of its predecessor but it is not devoid of some of the same ingredients and hints of greatness and they are occasionally on display in episodes like this.

Man, thanks god i heard a spoiler and skiped ALL THE WAY to this episode, after dropping the 1st season of Yashahime last year.

The reunion was exactly what i was expecting to see earlier in this cash grab, but it didnt had any hint that would happen back them (wtf, just in the 14th episode of second season?)

Even better than Mohora x Kagome would be Inuyasha and her doing stuff together. I would be funny.

BUT i have no expectations of this considering how bad this cashgrab continuation have been.

I got curious why Riku found that apple so tasty, despite having traveled the world when he was Kirinmaru's horn, and I found out that the kind of apple he ate didn't reach Japan till 1870s or so. If it's the Fuji apple, then they needed to wait till the 1930s to taste it.

That was a cool display of powers and it was nicely animated too! Also, is it just me or Seshoumaru didn't act like his usual self after getting hit by that attack. I thought Toga took over his body at that moment.

That was touching reunion!

The new ED sounds nice!

New OP and ED. I am going to miss the last ED Toumei na Sekai by Little Glee Monster a lot. But the new OP and ED are pretty good. I actually like the new OP more than I expected.

I thought the last episode was emotional. But then the ending of this episode got me much more emotional. The reunion scene between Moroha with her mother Kagome was *chef's kiss* perfect! I couldn't ask for anything better! And I'm so glad this will continue in the next episode. Might be the best episode of Yashahime.

Also, I can't wait to see Towa and Setsuna meeting their mother Rin. They were emotional just from seeing Moroha with their aunt. So I wonder what their reaction to their actual mother is going to be like.

Also, Sesshomaru took the L. But not really. He did his job as a father and an uncle by putting his life on the line for the girls. He has grown so much.

So Riku really does love Towa, and I'm sure Towa feels the same way. I think it would still be possible for them to end up together. Kohaku survived in Inuyasha despite it being established that he can't without the Jewel shard. The same thing can happen here. Just because Kirinmaru dies doesn't mean Riku has to.

I think this is the first time Sesshomaru has ever displayed ego. He knows he's that guy. Too bad he lost the fight though.

And of course, the reunion was so touching. I'm sure Inuyasha's reaction is going to be more on the comedic side, seeing the kind of person he is.
