It's funny, this is like my fourth time through this series and I only now realize how well done Lafiel is as a character. She's obviously intelligent judging from how she so easily orchestrated this rebellion by Febdashe's vassals, and she's obviously dangerous. Are all the "pure" Abh this cunning?

The baron has a sizable harem, but he didn't put too much effort into the loyalty part.

Boy the Baron has these women brainwashed, good for Lafiel waking some of them up. This is getting good.

The father reminds me of Christopf von Köfenhiller from Spiral Labyrinth . . . They look exactly the same and act almost exactly the same, the only difference I guess is that Christopf is in an actual prison.

I really love Lafiel now. Hostage? Who's the hostage? She'll turn the entire base against you lol.

Well I really hope nothing bad happens to those who turned against the baron.

Lafiel has made this series for me. She's perfect, an independent woman who doesn't flaunt the fact that she can take care of herself. Praise the heavens

It is a pity the anime cut away the former Baron's ramblings about his family history (which is actually a rather slick way to infodump how a lander citizen can attain nobility within the Empire). Jinto's distracted expression to all that would have been hilarious.

The Baron rules by fear and absolute orders, so his vassals are all lost without him around. Funny how they even have to be reminded to protect their master that they "love" so much.

Romance hinted between Jinto and Lafiel, since this series is about them, should not be a surprise. Since Jinto was the first person in a while that treated Lafiel like and equal, she probably opened up to him quite rapidly. Same goes for Jinto too.

Opening narration explaining that Lafiel is 1 of 8 vying for the throne explains her badassery> !! V.V

It's times like these that I'm happy to have plenty of unused character favorite slots. I get the feeling Lafiel could end up in one of them.

She did a great job getting this rebellion put together. It looks like things will go her way too.

I greatly appreciate the opening narrations. They provide a lot of background info and they seem to be told from the perspective of a non-Abh, which can give some cultural insights as well.

I liked the dining scene. Yeah. The fast based dialogue was pretty damn good. I will say though, this was really the first time Lafiel has really shown her character's strength. It wasn't really present in the Gosroth though, so the shift was somewhat stark.

Also, small detail, but why does Lafiel have both guns? Wasn't one given to Jinto? I'm also amused that all this was over wanting fuel.

Pistols were kept on the shuttle. Lafiel took both when she snuck in.

The baron's maids aren't the fiercest combatants are they? By all means they had Lafiel and Sernaic outnumbered and outgunned, and yet Lafiel still managed to intimidate both them and the baron out of the room. Maybe that's a testament to how composed Lafiel can be.
