*sigh* another recap episode....

at least this marks the end of an arc and marks the debut of Erin at 18 years old.....

at least a temporary change in the ending song...I think they should change the OP and ED soon....

Next episode, it seems the new teacher is going to cause some trouble to Erin....His eyes look sneaky despite his smile (which looks fake by the way)
bla bla bla
The endless debate between fans and haters. At one point, after spending a lot of time on MAL, you just realize it's totally pointless.

Yeah, boring recap episode. And since the last few episodes of Erin have all had some degree of recap in them, I really did just dislike this episode, and didn't see a point. At least we could have gotten the Mist people's take on everything...but that didn't happen.

well this was a more realistic recap than the last one. i am not surprised by it although i would have preferred to be just a regular episode. it seems that that new teacher, among other things, will be motivated by jealousy towards erin

The only reason that could possibly prevent me to score this anime a 10 is the awful lot of recap episodes (not that it's a huge problem, Touch and Eureka seveN for example have loads of recap episodes, and they are two of the best series I have ever seen) or an unsatisfactory ending. Hoping for neither of them ;) Oh and Erin at 18 is still nice.

From the preview, I got the impression that he likes her and the other guy (forgot his name) is jealous. I could be wrong though.

And ya the recaps in this are worse then unrelated fillers

I agree, episode was a bit pointless. I still can't understand why 27th episode was so large (640 MB or about 450 MB). Why would anyone want to have it in HQ anyway? It was a recap episode!!! Waste of space.
Anyway, I'm afraid that the way it's going they might not close all threads and the plot may be incomplete. I don't want to wait on sequel 5 years :/. To be honest I doubt they can close it, there is too much going on and we have only 20 episodes left from now.
Nonetheless I've added Kemono no Souja Erin to favourites recently and I still rate it 10 (although I must admit I considered to decrease the score). There is no better new anime.
But I digress, in the next episodes even the worst malcontents will be chained to their monitors, I'm sure of it :P.

Another pointless re-cap in this episode. Still, there's few moments for adult Erin, so I don't mind.

She said ''You're a college student now, so do whatever you think is for the best''. If you mean the moment that Erin went to Lilan at the end, she's wondering if Erin might be able to achieve something Esal-sensei couldn't.

This really felt as the ending of an arc... Anyhow, two pros this episode:
1.) Older Erin, once again.
2.) Lilan has purple feathers and a beard now. What's up with the anatomy and genes of Oujuu... But hey, as they're already a mix between a wolf and a huge bird, I'll leave it at this.

It will be the new ED starting episode 31+. It is “Kitto tsutaete” by Takako Katsuaki.

I actually wasn't bored (don't ask me why). Though they recapped the previous episode waay too much. If anything they should have recapped the early 20s eps or something. Or do what NoteD suggested.
Btw, older Erin looks pro.

Episode 27 was that size due to the insane animation present in 90% of it. You know, all that weird art and stuff, and the boats, and the meshy stuff, etc.

You missed my point. Why bother to make this episode look like a HD anime when it was a filler episode? I'm completely aware of demanding animation.

Um what? A fillter episode? It wasn't a fillter episode compared to QUITE a few others I could mention.

If you really want it to look like absolute crap, re-encode it yourself. And regardless of if you do that or not, stfu about our choices, m'kay?

Written by quality checker, lol. We're not on your private forum so you can write "stfu" as much as you like, I don't give a damn. You don't like my posts? Don't read them or gtfo.
And seriously, fillter episode? And you're quality checker? :D

Typing quickly doesn't mean that I'm a bad quality checker. It just means I don't necessarily care enough to respond to crapfaces such as yourself with the degree of perfection I hold my releases to.

And as this is a public forum, I was, as you so nicely pointed out, doing exactly what it is my right to do. Say what the hell I want. :)

Those responsible for the pacing of this series deserve pain. What, in the name of all that is holy, is the point of spending the last half of episode 30 re-capping what happened in the last half of episode 29!? And even what came before was senseless re-capping of what had only happened an episode or two ago. I'd understand the point of the re-caps if lots happened and it was hard to remember it all... but nearly every episode covers so little ground that they serve no purpose other than further slowing down an already snail-paced series. Grrrr.

It pissed me off because the preview tricked me into believing 30 wouldn't be a re-cap; the sneaky bastards only using the TINY amount of new footage to suggest it'd cover some post-TS goodness. Gits.

With this and the utterly worthless Jone farting dream episode (27 - the mist even made it lag!), I'm becoming more and more determined NOT to go higher than 7/10; in spite of the impressive bond formed between Mary Sue and her wolf-birdy.

True, this anime fails at pacing for a lot of episodes..
but the content itself is just awesome... sadly, it spends too much time on recaps (okay, only 2 so far, but they are both unnecessary imo) as well as flashbacks (<--- what annoys me the most). I also dislike that before, they often had to "summarize" everything that happened in the previous episode again (which is often done in long running shounen-anime).
I think the show will get an 8 from me by the end of it, but it really has the potential for a 9 or even 10 :|

Horrible recap. They should have cut it so we saw things Ethal-sensei would have seen, not just rehashing the whole history from Erin's POV.
The worst thing about this episode was the 10 minutes of new stuff, which prevents this from being an episode that could be skipped entirely.
Your mean should be an even bell curve only if you watch every show that comes out. Having a high-slung mean doesn't mean you're rating improperly. It can also mean you're selecting shows well to watch mostly things you enjoy.

Skipped (to the last 3 minutes or so). This series could/should have been done in 3-cours (39 episodes) instead of 50.

Lilan looks pretty with her new feathers.

Too much flash backing! Anyways, one thing I did gather from this is that it seems that the discontent between the two halves of the country is more public (It seemed earlier that the public on the royal half thought the duke's half saw it as their duty to die for the other half and really saw them as trash, but now Esal pointed out that they duke's side is very discontent as well, although that might have just been simple logic), either way, I am sort of praying that the latter part of this anime now turns to the turmoil within the country and focuses on some role Erin will play in resolving it (and if she does it with the help of Lilan that would be awesome!)

Goddamit, this must be the beginning of the dreaded flashback phase my friend told me about (even though there was one much earlier with the Mist people). Still, that timeskip epilogue is really cool. Grownup Erin and Lilan both look awesome.

Specialises in poison, ay? It seems the oath failed. The Queen's gift will be killed, Erin will take the blame and follow closely.

My guess:

a) Done to protect the Queen's legitimacy.

b) Done to destroy the Queen's legitimacy by drastically reducing the amount of beast lords in the land. This world's version of the Queen losing God's favour or the mandate of heaven.

c) The Queen's symbolic importance is lost. Similar to Japan's political structure for most of its history, the grand duke will have full control as the defacto ruler without having to constantly kowtow and protect the Queen's interest. The Queen's house if she be lucky can continue on as a holy figurehead but forfeits ALL opposing political power so long as the Grand Duke dynasty continues.

I don't like how the time skip episodes are mostly recaps, but the few scenes we got were great!

Like Esal remembering how she used to feel something similar to Erin, and how she hopes that the girl will reach the answer that she wasn't able to.

I didn't mention this before, but I'm a bit worried how Erin mentioned following the same path as her mother, I don't want to see her dying in such a gruesome way, especially without doing anything wrong, her mother's death was hard enough!

But Erin is looking great, she's gorgeous, and even Lilan is in her best shape, she's an adult Beast-Lord now, but she's way more majestic than the others in Kazalm!

Awwww, grown up Lilan and 18 year old Erin both look great!! And how about that revelation at the end that Jone and Esal saw a wild beast-lord! Still, other than those two things, I was left disappointed by this recap, which was much more straightforward than the first one. We didn’t really learn anything new looking through Esal/Karisa’s eyes unfortunately. I was really hoping that we’d see more of Nasson. Ah well, what can you do. This new teacher, who will be outside the bubble of the promise everyone took, promises some drama in 31.
