Break Blade Movie 1: Kakusei no Toki

both have guys with incredible talent using some sort of machine that runs on power provided by the user to help save their country from being taken over. 

A territorial war for "natural" resources / energy crystals. A unique Mecha. Half-hearted love story with triangles. War, sadness, deaths 

Both are about a war, where the main guy decides to fight to protect those he loves. There´s machines with pilots. Also in both, two good friends turn into enemies and fight each other. Both have great art and soundtrack.  

'Generic' is frequently used to describe Broken Blade's tale of mecha warfare, and even I - with my limited experience with mecha - must confess to being reminded of Gundam SEED on a few occasions when watching. It's so well-executed and beautiful looking & sounding that I cared not, but the similarities are worth noting. The first SEED-BB similarity is the 'Friends becoming enemies' subplot prevalent early on in BB. Just like in SEED, the two friends went to school together; one being averse to war and the other being a pacifist. But skip a little into the future and two find themselves on opposing sides in a war, piloting robots. The second comes in the third movie. Halfway through SEED, the series reached its peak when Kira confronted Athrun and his team on his own. The two were finally prepared to kill each other, they screamed their names at each other in their cockpits, etc etc. Guess what happened halfway through BB as Rygart imitated a rhino and fought with his old friend, Zess? If you are looking for a mecha type Anime with great animation, characters, and narrative to boot! These two are definitely for you. If you like Bounen no Xamdou, you are bound to like Break Blade and it's following sequels. Make sure to check them out! 

Always in the mecha genre , the two movies take part in a set of movies where the main character in both looks different from the others , very combative , they use this difference to their advantage in battle. 

Similar in that there are mecha in more fantasy setting but the similarities probably end there. Tone and presentation are completely different. The emphasis on Knight's and Magic is the light-hearted telling of the Main Character's goal and dream of completing his own personal, amazing mecha whereas Break Blade is very serious and conflict-driven. 

Both share the same base premise: the main character lives in a society where the majority of people have a power, but they themselves don't. The MCs both gain an ability that makes them potentially much more powerful than the people around them, and decide to use their newfound ability for good. From here they diverge, as Hero Academia goes on to focus on Deku's life at hero school, whereas Break Blade follows Rygart as he joins the military. 

Both give a very similar feeling. Both have futuristic monarchies that are plunged into war. Both have princesses that fall in love with their protectors despite being betrothed to a prince. The MCs are both underdogs, whether it be because of nonability or because of social class. Break Blade focuses more on the MCs fighting and struggle, while Princess and the Pilot focuses more on their romance. Break Blade can be summed up as a battle focused Princess and the Pilot with mechs. Vice versa, Princess and the pilot is a romance focused Break Blade with fighter planes. 

Both have this ideal feeling like "nobody is evil" and stuff like that 

Both of those are about a young man who never rode a robot but accidentaly or for a unwanted purpose got into it. 

Magic and mecha are the combo that brings these two together. Escaflowne portrays magic in a more traditional way with wizards, spells, dragons, etc., and Break Blade takes a more scientific approach. Both are enjoyable shows with a decent amount of action and just enough drama to sweeten the story. 

Both shows display well the hardships and the personal struggles of those, forced into participating, and also both shows tackle the political moves of the factions, as well as a good portrayal of a moral greyness and ambiguity of the characters. Gundam of course, over countless decades has fleshed out in all of it's sequels and spinoffs or reimaginings all of these topics, while Break Blade has only 6 lenghty episodes to do this, which makes it impossible to be compared, but even so, both shows in it's core share similar tone, and themes. 

Protagonist of BB is the male version of the Cross Ange protagonist - they both live in a world where everyone can use some kind of energy that they cannot (quartz/mana) and they are branded because of that (un-sorcerer/norma). Additionally, in these anime we have golems/ragnamails which are basically the same, and the protagonist are gifted with the one that no one else can use. Other similarities include a lot of mecha, occasional drama, deceased family members & weak-becomes-strong kind of protagonist.  

Both have an ancient mecha unearthed to help fight in a war, while the pilots of said mechas have super powers that they use to control them. Each series has absolutely gorgeous backgrounds and animation. 

Both are fantasy mecha series in which the main character comes fo inherit a powerful machine that's been hidden away, in both cases due to a close relationship they have to kings. The main difference is that Galient's MC is more outwardly willing to fight to achieve his goals, while Break Blade's MC initially seeks to avoid combat and the series deals with how he comes to terms with his new position in the military.  

Both works features war between vastly different factions, as one of them is seeking for peaceful resolvement of the situation. The point of both works is more of an exploration of the psyche and the feelings of the main characters about all this, not solely the war itself. 

Two fantasy worlds with similar history. Small monarchical belligerent countries. Enigmatic "legacy of ancectors". There isn't much fan service. However, anime don't pretend to be too serious. Characters participates in dramatic war with mecha. Protagonist is on the side of small country that is attacked by more powerful neighbour. All characters are pleasant. There is no black-and-white morality. Everyone have their own reasons to fight and things to protect. BB have much action and concentrated on war while SW is meditative, mysterious and concentrated on slice of life.  

Blonde Haired Boy hasn't amounted to anything, he then finds an old Mech and proves that this Mech is better than the others. 

Both main characters have power to awaiken a mecha wich no one of his kind can - in IS - no male can, but in Break Blade no one can. Although "Break Blade" has a much more serious storyboard. 

Do you like anime that are set in an Arabian kind of world? Do you like a dash of fantasy and some romance? Then watch both of these! (Make note that Break Blade is a serie of 6 movies) 

If you liked the mech in Asura Cryin, then you will like Break Blade. On top of this there is a storyline that is complex and fun to delve in as you root for various characters. 

Each take mech into a historical era, one that of the samurai, and one that of the European old ages. They have strong storylines, not to mention nice action. The mechs are well designed and the characters, for the given length are well developed. 

Magic in General is at play and you are either weak with no magic or powerful with magic. Great fighting scenes and pretty good story,only difference is that break blade is mecha while MKNR is magic , school,romance related genre. 

Both have mechas that aren't as godly as most other mecha shows. 

Unicorn Reminds me of Broken Blade, the story is kinda the same, and all the character all have something in common in both shows. Of course i can recommend Gundam Unicorn to any other Gundam Series because they all have the same plot :P 

I know those two show has nothing in common but both show is in a movie format which each episode is around a hour and both show are awesome and has 6 movie in total... 

the story line is not the same but the characters are very simular in looks and personality + in both animes the main characters were best friends and then became enemies . I watch Naruto for years and when I first saw Break Blade it was the first thing that I thought was that the characters are exactly the same 

Both anime are very similar from how they piliot there mecha and the story were two side face each other even thou they are very much identical. 

Main character in both series are from poor families and end up being a badass mecha pilot, both series have it's amazing moments that just make you go wow..
