-Both are about two leads who supposedly despise each other yet are forced to feign an intimate relationship with each other due to the nature of their situation -Both have a similar artstyle which almost singlehandedly distinguishes them from the myriad of competition in the genre -Both feature similar characters and supporting characters

Both comedic. Both guys are your typical quiet ones, but Kazuya in Rent a girlfriend is a complete degenerate (part of the fun).

these shows not only have similar plots (MC with multiple love interests) but close animation, too, with almost the same color selection and OPs/EDs - the typical romcom-ish ones. the main difference is in the MCs, not quite alike.

If you enjoy romance stories with multiple twists and shifting storylines that keep the viewer engaged and curious about what's to come, good choices are Rent-a-Girlfriend and Domestic Girlfriend. Both series offer excellent character development and captivating narratives.

both about a perv male MC and also a weak personality, the girls are similar too...
report Recommended by RezAra_
They're both romantic dramas with lots of pretty girls :) I'd call Rent-a-Girlfriend a great anime to start the next decade of anime off with, as its style and visuals are a breath of fresh air for long-time anime watchers.

Both are romances involving college students. Kanojo, Okarishimasu is more of a harem, slowly introducing multiple love interests, whereas in Golden Time, who the protagonist will end up with is clear from the start.

Both are romcoms with a center couple who tries to act like fake boyfriends and end up being real boyfriends for the eyes of their most approchable people and on the way we can see the love interests of the main character with other girls that aren´t their couple

Similarities: Both guys were stupid and undecisive. Both have girls whom can be mistaken as THOTS. Both have certain girls whom were clinging to them. Dissimilarities: Fuufu Ijou, Koibito Miman The guy is stupid , undecisive and pretty much as wuss. The girl whom the guy was partnered may look like a THOT, but actually just fashionable. The other girl whom the guy likes is basically wife material. Kanojo Okarishimas The guy was stupid , but not a wuss cu'z he can fend for himself, but he's a bit of a pervert. Oh, and he lies a lot. The girl whom the guy like becomes a reluctant gold digger. The guy already has a girl friend,  read more

After a romantical failure, the protagonist starts dating a random person (in Koi to Uso, it is chosen by the system, whereas in Kanojo, Okarishimasu, is by paying). Eventually, the main character and his fake girlfriend start developing feelings towards each other.

The stories are different but yet these 2 focuses on having girlfriends/wife, and both revolve around romantic comedy between the couples. In tonikaku kawaii, the couples are real but in kanojo okarishimasu the couples are fake.

Sad unpopular boy gets pushed around by girls

+1 at Gamers being similar to Kanojo, Okarishimasu. Has a "normal" mc, a harem, heaps of misunderstandings, and a romance plot that can make you spin if you try to keep up with it.

Spy x Family is a more serious and less rom com version of Rent A Girlfriend. Both animes involve some transactional relationship that require both the guy and the girl to keep up a false appearance in which they're dating (marriage in Spy X Family's case). Kazuya and Yor feel the pressure from their peers and family to have a partner while Chizuru and Loid have career related reasons as to why they're doing this false relationship. Of course both animes would have them fall in love eventually.

The harem type situation is simular.

While both animes are polar opposites in which one of them is dating for real but have to keep it secret and the other one is fake dating but have to pretend that they're a real couple, the humor is similar because both involve having to hide the secret and a lot of spicy shit happens when the secret gets leaked to the wrong people. Both series have some girl who blackmails the MC and the MC must do her bidding.

Both animes have a tsundere relationship as its main plot. The MC finds himself accidentally meeting someone that becomes reluctant to emotions towards the MC. As the story progresses they start to like the MC and let their true feelings show.

Both have a similar story and comedy

* The shows both feature a distraught MC that has issues. * Both have a somewhat similar art-style and animation. * Romance targeting the MC's friends are present in both but are targeted differently in each. * Both have a decent story, although ReLife has a much longer and more fulfilling story with better character development.

In this new installment we got to see Chizuru borrowing the look and feel of Rukachan, she in this occasion got to see that Chizuru new role as Yuu Saegusa, working as actress and E-sport tournament player as a side job. At first I saw Rukachan... with the attitude of Chizuru... omg my suspicion was correct... we got Rukachan withe soul of Chizuru in this new anime.

HAVE A NICE ENDIND BUT SEEASON ONE WAS BOARING

Both anime have very look alike characters Inglis as white haired Chizuru and Raphinha as Ruka Reincarnation then we got Eris as the long haired Mami and lastly Leonne is the shy Sumi-chan

In the chizuru Multiverse this time... although the characters has different names and background story the soul remain the same... Chizuru new role in The iDOLM@STER Million Live!? is as Shiho Kitasawa. the appearance is almost the same but much earlier than Kanokari... a young chizuru realizing her dream in the show biz.

Both are chaotic romance anime with wild shenanigans and characters you can root for.

Both harem, fan service like anime, with similar art styles!

Denji is extremely similar to Kazuya, both are horny teenagers who really want to get lewd with girls and would obey any order given by one of them as long as they see a way to get lewdness in exchange.
report Recommended by Ionliosite2
The main character have the same kind of obsession they Both "don't" attract girl the girls also are also kinda similar I. guess and the anime let you the same feeling at the end I want more of this.(The second season of sauna is better than the first one for me and reveal the true potential of the show)
report Recommended by FaustHigurashi
They both explore romance from an unconventional, perhaps uncomfortable premise (Kuzu no Honkai: relationship with someone whilst pretending they're someone else, Kanojo, Okarishimasu: relationship with a fake girlfriend)
report Recommended by pixruru
Both needed to pretend they are in a relationship.

Similar anti-hero protagonists who lives pretty much entirely revolve around losing their virginity. Another group cast of girls with varied personalities who fall into the life of the protagonist some way or another. Similar comedic tone with lots of jokes made at the expense of the protagonist and characters playing around with the feelings of others.
report Recommended by bloodyboyblue
In both anime, the main character resorts to the service of a rental girlfriend/video girl to help him get over a heartbreak. But he eventually develops feelings for the girl, and has to find the key to this impossible love... Video Girl Ai has less comedy, has more fantasy elements, and the main character is less of a total failure / cringy creature.

Need another anime that teaches you how NOT to treat others? Well look no further! Both involve a male protagonist that cannot seem to help but dig themselves a deeper grave. Rent-a-Girlfriend is meant to be comedic, while White Album is heavier on the drama.
report Recommended by SayonaraRai
Harem show with a pretty obvious main girl and a looser, pervert, virgin MC that gets increasingly dependable while the plot progresses. Especially following seasons will focus more on that growth though so at this point Kazuya is still much worse than even Keitarou in episode 1.
report Recommended by shezario
Both are about adults that seem to be unexperienced with girls... and are rather pathetic.
report Recommended by yonatan_
in both anime > couple Both are sweet romance anime > care about others secrets > romance overlord
report Recommended by asinime
Main protagonists are college-aged, the male lead is a "loser" with close ties to his grandmother, the female lead is a beautiful out-of-reach woman who lives in the same building, Ruka and Yagami are similar, and Sumi and Asuna are similar.
report Recommended by Kerzic
Both main characters have a harem and they both have funny moments- the key difference I think is in gotoubun, uesugi doesnt show feelings for a specific one and pursues her, while in kanojo, kazuya is pursuing a specific one of the girls.
report Recommended by reoleo113
Both series share similar types of humor, which spans from a light-hearted laugh to full-on degeneracy. If you found Yahari Ore no... hilarious, you'll likely enjoy Kanojo, Okarishimasu.
report Recommended by M_Demarco
Both about a male character who sucks with girls, who eventually gets surrounded by lots of females and becomes a harem. The same type of vibe anime, light-hearted, warm, harem, school life funny anime.

This is probably a weird recommendation, but I do think if you really like the characters of Rent-A-Girlfriend, you'd probably find something similar in Re:Zero. Both Kazuya and Subaru are complete simps at the start of the series. They're made to be pathetic, annoying, helpless, and they both reflect a lot of boys around that age. If you like Kazuya because you can tell he's not a bad guy deep down and are cheering for him to get better, I think you can find something really similar with Subaru. Alternatively, maybe you like Rent-A-Girlfriend because of its plethora of cute girls. And Re:Zero definitely has a  read more

The two anime are light and fun romance anime that have a similar setup to the story. They both have a female MC that heavily contributes to the character development of the male MC. The male MC in both anime start off as rock-bottom type characters like they're just really rock-bottom, low quality and are starting out from scratch. Rent-a-Girlfriend is more on the comedic and complicated relationship approach to the story while Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki is more on the gaming and life philosophy in which games and life are being correlated. Both anime can give out lessons that can help your social life. Really  read more
