They're both romantic dramas with lots of pretty girls :) I'd call Rent-a-Girlfriend a great anime to start the next decade of anime off with, as its style and visuals are a breath of fresh air for long-time anime watchers.

although plotline may be different, mai and chizuru shares similar characteristics and it is evident within both the anime that they are comparable.
Chizuru and Mai share very similar personalities the main difference between the two animes aside from the plot is that Sakuta is smarter than Kazuya. you can see the contrast of a smart dude and a loud crybaby simp. so my recommendation here is learn from Sakuta guys! Kazuya is basically what are the things to avoid doing. What is interesting after watching both anime we can picture a alternative future of Chizuru becoming a celebrity and a better Kazuya a confident smarter guy that knows to have a healthy relationship.
