Synopsis

In a quiet corner of the city, four-year-old Kun Oota has lived a spoiled life as an only child with his parents and the family dog, Yukko. But when his new baby sister Mirai is brought home, his simple life is thrown upside-down; suddenly, it isn't all about him anymore. Despite his tantrums and nagging, Mirai is seemingly now the subject of all his parents' love.

To help him adapt to this drastic change, Kun is taken on an extraordinary journey through time, meeting his family's past, present, and future selves, as he learns not only what it means to be a part of a family, but also what it means to be an older brother.

Mirai - 2018 - A movie you should watch with your family on a Sunday evening, because it's a movie about family.

My personal experience began with thinking it was about how moments of distance between parents and children lead to children creating "worlds" in their minds and making the mind work as hard as it can to fill the emotional gap and thus draw their own conclusions without a guide to show it the ways of life.
From the second stage of the movie, I had a clearer idea: the movie is about how we learn from each other throughout life, living and learning, ...

Mixed Feelings
Synopsis is very misleading because Mirai is not the one coping with the arrival of his little sister (in fact he's way more pleased than real life brothers would be)... his parents are the ones trying to cope with having two kids, while not giving enough attention to a TODDLER and the husband not knowing jack shit about housework. Overall a nice movie but the entirety of the plot revolving about Mirai learning about love and family or whatever while presenting us a setting where the parents are the stressed out ones with much more to learn... well.
To be honest the start left such a ...

Mirai was by far one of the worst movies I think I've ever seen in my life. Nothing about this film was appealing at all and how it was nominated for best animated film of the year is beyond me.

The film Mirai just had so many things wrong with it that I can't even begin to describe. I'll start with Kun: I understand that with being a child you can expect a level of immaturity. At some point in their life, all kids have been immature / brats at some point and that's normal. However, Kun takes it a step further to the point ...
