Pupa

Both of these are quite similar with regard to the horror and cannibalism stuff. The difference between the two, however, is that Tokyo Ghoul has a plot. 

Both shows are about the daily lives of human-like monsters that eat people. 

Both anime show the daily adventures of sick cannibals with tones of random blood and gore. 

Both are fairly gory shows that feature a person who suddenly becomes a human-eating monster and have to cope with their new lives. Pupa's plot is very incoherent though while Tokyo Ghoul makes a lot more sense, so if you liked Pupa you'll defintiely enjoy Tokyo Ghoul. 

Both are psychological horror anime about monsters looking like humans (monsters who once were humans) eating humans. Both are gory and full of violence. 

Both of these shows are a really really bad adaptation of a great manga. Both of them are edgy, have a weak MC and some kind of human mutation/deformation. 

Some filthy casual is stripped from their ordinary life by a living being, turning them into flesh-feeding monsters. The protagonists both fear their new life ahead of them. Both filled with dread and disappointment 

Dark themed, cannibalism, monsters. In some way, they're similar. 

We have in here some similar stuff, like there was present a older woman when the main character (or at least one of the main) got his/her power awakened, and there's the part of someone need to eat flesh to survive. 

These seem to both have somewhat the same "Humans are Tasty" theme. Another similarity would be that both contain more black screens than action. However pupa is in my opinion, even worse than mars of destruction for the fact that it was 12 episodes instead of just one, whereas Tokyo Ghoul was decent. 

Monsters that eat human flesh are present. 

-Both shows are Gorey -Both shows are Psychological/Horror -Both shows involve cannibalistic creatures. -Both shows involve a human who was turned into a cannibalistic creature, within the first episode. -Both shows feature a main character who has the ability to sprout a red tentacle-like weapon from out of their back. -Both shows feature a little, cannibal girl with short, brown hair, brown eye, and a pink flower hair piece. -Both shows contain a scene where the main character is strapped into a chair and tortured. 

By borrowing ideas from the famous Zhuangzi’s recountal of a butterfly dream, employing the leitmotif of butterfly as a powerful symbol of transformation, and setting up a mysterious and palpably grisly atmosphere, Pupa and Ranpo Kitan, both in their own ways, seek to explore the uncertainty and frailty of human existence, as well as provide commentary on the prevalence of decadence in the desensitized modern society. With true horror becoming an increasingly rare phenomenon in the anime industry, the viewer may find the two titles to be refreshingly deviant in their disloyalty to the anime norms.  

Both are grim, moody, mature anime that involve butterfly symbolism and a fair amount of mystery and gore. 

You like butterflies right? I like butterflies, butterflies are deep, thankfully both Pupa and Game of laplace capitalise on this excellent symbolism to produce thought provoking works of animation. Both take a cute little sister protagonist and have an older teen tag along to be "that guy". And of course, to ensure that both will be remembered as serious dramas both pack copious amounts of gore that you should take seriously, definitely 

Similarities are as follows: -cute protagonist(s) -violence -death -symbolic butterflies -blood, lots of it. so much blood. -very mature 

At an initial glance both narratives seem to be another nauseating permutation of gore fantasy. However, one needs to look beyond the veneer and find the mature multifacted symbolism that explores our primordial instincts that is juxtaposed to the stagnation of consciousness from society. Both are apropos reflections of society. Both can be considered artforms and it's for those that can handle the subject matter. There is nothing otaku about each of the anime, so be prepared. Clearly a tour de force from both their respective authors. 

Very intelligent pieces of work about nihilism and involve the concept of death and rebirth. An engaging cast of characters and an interesting storyline, as well as amazing artwork and gorgeous animation quality make these must watches for anyone looking for a deep, mature, complex psychological horror, potentially rivaling masterpieces like the Shining and the Silent Hill 2 video game. 

Mature, thought provoking tales about justice in a failing society. Both involve deep butterfly symbolism and copious amounts of gore. 

Both share several main themes such as butteflies and maturity. BUT Pupa is sh*t. 

Monsters/aliens/ whatever disguised as humans eating other humans. Difference is, Kiseijuu is actually enjoyable.  

Kiseijuu has parasites and pupa has a disease. Main characters both are like monsters but can maintain a human form. The main difference of this anime is that Kiseijuu is about survival and pupa is just pupa. :D I can't really see pupa's anime purpose and the ending... just wtf? 

They both include body horror and transformation. 

Parasytes, parsytes everywhere  

Both are short and violent anime from the 21st century and have a very small soundtrack. They are also both in MAL's bottom 100. 

Both, with intricate aesthetics and unexpected cruelty, spaning through exploding heads and gruesome teddy bears, rise profound ontological questions about human nature. 

If you like anime that's so bad it becomes really entertaining, then Mars of Destruction and Pupa are for you! Both of them are also pretty short, make no sense, and can provide quite a laugh to deranged souls like me. 

Lots of blood, gore and questioning authors sanity. 

Very gorey animes that can be watched rather quickly due to the length of episodes of Corpse Party and how short the episodes of Pupa are.  

Its gory, lots of blood. and ill make you not want to rewatch it again. 

Pupa and Corpse party both have a high gore level. There are lots of twisted events and the art in both anime isn't that good. If you're a fan of gore then Pupa could be what you're searching for or you'll find it a waste of your time. The episodes of Pupa are around the 4 minutes each so you have a total of around 40 mins to watch the 12 episodes of this anime. Also the story in Pupa is really short and easy to understand. You can't really connect with the characters since they don't have any deep backstories, same goes for Corpse Party. You can find Pupa on youtube.  read more 

both are the worst of their kind , Pupa literally one of the worst anime i ever watch - and i only watch 2 episode . If you hate Tenkuu danzate skelter heaven then your bound to hate Pupa  

If you like the feeling you got while seeing School Days, you'll love the one you get while watching this great anime. 

Do you like adorable girls doing horrifyingly gory things? Do you like a male lead who's only main role is to stand there and look horrified? Then, both of these anime have what you're looking for! Gore, cute girls, evil organizations, these two seem to have it all!  

We have in here some similar stuff, like the torture/experiment on the wiked for more information, and at some point, the organs were removed and grew back again. The polt is not actually the same, but there are similarities on the way the main characters uses their powers to fulfill their actions 

Pupa is just like 3 minutes of AoT, only with more blood and edginess.
