In my eyes, Lucky Star is KyoAni's version of SHAFT's Hidamari Sketch. The main characters in both animes have similar personalities (the tomboyish Miyako is like Konata; Sae/Kagami; Hiro/Miyuki; Yuno/Tsukasa; and their sensei both act childish). Episodes consist of random but amusing talk about everyday life things and Japanese culture and an occasional reference to another anime (though unlike Hidamari, parody is one of the central themes in LS). Lucky Star was made specifically for the otaku and its pace is much more frantic than the laid back Hidamari. Nonetheless, when watching, you can’t help but notice that these two animes feel very much the  read more

Hidamari and GA are both about a group of girls attending art classes at their high school. Hidamari focuses a little less on the art asepct, but the shows are still quite similar. GA is kind of like the middle ground between Sketchbook and Hidamari, so if you liked those, you'll probably like GA.

Slice of life, circles around art. If you've seen one of them, watch the other too. I enjoyed both of them ..

Both are slice-of-life comedies featuring a group of female high school students (and occasionally their teachers). The humor comes primarily from the quirky personalities of the cast in both series, and they share the same laid back atmosphere. The art style of Hidamari is a little more unusual, though.

K-ON is basically Hidamari sketch with musical setting. Both set in super-positive ideal world filled with super-friendly characters. Both story featured four main heroine attended in same school with similar interest, one is art and other is music. Both series have common stereotyped manga characters And Yui is Yuno lacking one hairclip.

Both of these slice of life anime are about a group of cute girls doing cute things. The jokes are similar and some characters share many things in common.

You cannot go wrong with this one. Both are the higher profile manga serialzed on Manga Time Kirara. The noteworthy selling point of every manga in this magazine is girls' love. If you can't go a day without non-explicit girl-to-girl cuddling then both are the right choice. Plot is not non-existent, but sadly, there are quite a lot of anime out there which qualified more as mild sex-sale than 30 minutes of storytelling. It's possible to praise how good the story, jokes, puns, and conversation is, but at the end of the day many people watch this just for d'awww. But that shouldn't let you down,  read more

Extremely high profile non-miyazaki slice-of-life anime that get many installment. In one famous opinion piece about anime, "rowing a boat" is a coined term means slice-of-life anime with slow pace that watch the everyday life of bishoujo characters. Both anime are rowing a boat. One is rowing in a utopia future re-make of classical Venice city, the other row a boat in a modern day Japanese high-school setting. Rowing-a-boat anime will be highly soothing or extremely boring depends on your preferences (of girls in the show or maybe settings.) Let's just say that rowing-a-boat is not new of a genre, but somehow only recently become highly-anticipated.

They're both created by Shaft, there's an all-female cast, and Miyako and Mami are both voiced by Kaori Mizuhashi!

Created by the same person and produced by SHAFT. Hidamari has a few references to Pani Poni Dash as well.

Character are really similar especially Miyako and Torako or Yuno and Ayumi. Both shows deals about ordinary life of four not-so-ordinary high schooler, while Hyakko is a little bit more "random" than Hidamari Sketch.

Both about artists in training at a dorm setting. Bunch of wierdness and oddities mixed in as well~

Loads and LOADS of one-shot jokes. A method where a joke is told and a corresponding picture is flashed on a screen usually under a second. It's a form of comedy but for the ones that understand the jokes it is also a very rewarding style that enhances the joke. Anyways loads of one shot gags and loads of girls although the mood are both complete opposites of each other. Still, its worth giving both a try if your really into that style of comedy.

-both are adapted from a 4-koma manga. -can be considered far better from the original as a matter of adaptation due to the style of animation. 1 short chapter actually manage to be animated in 10 - 20 minutes per episode. -both can be considered part of the SoL/comedy tandem but instead of focusing on comedy, both shows focus more on SoL.

Yuru Camp is a show like medicine, in the dosage of one or two episodes a day it will give you a warm fuzzy feeling in your heart for the time you 'use' it, but the time after it ends and you have to stop taking the medicine you grew accustomed to can lead to cold withdrawal symptoms. So i'm here to fill the void with the first other show that is my original medicine for this problem and that newer viewer might not yet know, Hidamari Sketch. Hidamari Sketch has one large advantage over Yuru Camp and that is that it ran from 2007  read more

both anime have a very similar feel to them, if you liked one there's a very good chance that you'll like the other.

If I can say that Manabi Straight was about the beginnings and growth of friendships and what happens before, during and after the process of moving on, then Hidamari Sketch is about the fun times being had when those friendships are already in the growing stage and the future is nothing more than a passing glance. Both have great casts of characters that work together and have fun. Hidamari Sketch is more laid back than Manabi Straight, and the former is a series of standalone episodes compared to Manabi's driven plot, so keep that in mind.

Both are very funny and cute.

Both are cheerful, lighthearted comedy/slice of life series focused on daily experiences of a group of young girls and their friendship. If you liked Hidamari Sketch, Kiniro Mosaic will definitely put a smile on your face

Manga Time Kirara anime about schoolgirls. Sure, that describes like twenty series but these two are among the minority that focus on the schooling rather than a club or extracurricular. Not to say these two are solely set in school.

main girl in both bathing at the last of every episode and somehow both are voiced by Asumi Kana

Slice-of-life comedy filled relaxing anime. Doing everyday activities with friends like what they would write, "cute girl doing cute things".
report Recommended by FrengkySinaga
in both anime, every episode starts with main character(s) waking up at the morning and most episodes end at the same day (in fact all of Hidamari Sketch eps end at the same day but already forget whether all episodes of Binchou-tan was like that or not) Also while Hidamari Sketch is very much more of a "nichijou-kei" series rather than being an "iyashikei" show, both anime are pretty chill. Also both have great soundtracks though that doesn't necessarily mean that if you like Hidamari Sketch OST, you will like Binchou-tan OST or vice versa but in both the OST really improve their series

Two shows about cute girls doing cute things. But it's more than that as the main female character befriends other girls at a new place where she never thought she's become apart of. There is many charming scenes throughout both series and connections that are built. Appreciation can be accepted with the interactions, dialogues, and genuine ideas of both series.

I Can Find Some Similarities Between Both Of Those Shows So Here They Are: They Are Both From The Manga Time Kirara Series Some Voice Actors Worked On Both Of Those Series's (Cho, Miyuki Sawashiro And Rie Kugimiya For An Example) Possibly Arigi Kinda Resembles Yoshinoya-Sensei A Little Bit Yuno And Yasuna Oribe Kinda Look A Like Both Have Catchy Theme Music Weird And Cute Moments For Both Of Those Series's And Their OVA's Were Released In 2013 If You Like Kill Me Baby, I Would Recommend You To Watch Hidamari Sketch, They Both Kinda Have The Same Plot And Characters

after watching only 2 episodes of Comic Girls i quickly noticed how similar this two shows are, mainly because of how the four main girls even though their personalities are different play similar roles on each show Kaoruko=Yuno Koyume=Miyako Tsubasa=Sae Ruki=Hiro

I am not recommending bakemonogatari, but monogatari series as a whole. Both series have a lot of flashing pictures and both series have a timeline, but they jump around in it (though monogatari series does so in arcs and hidamari sketch does so for each episode). They both have a lot of humor. Though the stories are totally different you should still give both series a try.

Both are slice of life comedies dealing with students living together in an apartment building and both feature frequent Chibi gags.

Both slice of life, random stuff anime. And they both revolve around a group of girls. The humour is also very similar.

You can't really go wrong with this two. Both based on manga from Kirara, the tasty shoujo-ai magazine for male demographic, both shows are similars in too many ways. Hidamari cast start off with four characters. The airhead, the cute, the cutely wicked ,and the cutely bullied. That's pretty much the same with A Ch. Their activities is based on schoolground, added with on-location cuteness anywhere they go, meaning their settings is exactly the same, small Kirara style world with women to men ratio 20:1. They love each other a lot. It's likely you won't see your (real 3D) lady friends express their affection for each other  read more

As I was watching Hidamari Sketch I couldn't help but think of Bamboo Blade. They both are about a group of students at school and have somewhat similar comedy.

Yuri in less distilled form, but Slice of Life more heavily concentrated than crystal meth. These are the qualities that will either make you love or hate both shows equally. Tamako Market is pure slife of life, telling us what the largely female casts do daily. It is set in an average modern day settings, and focus on the little ladies' activity within their sphere of interest. There are some arguable fantasy elements, but I shall refrain from spoiling that. Hidamari Sketch is also telling us what four to six girls, depending on season, do with their life and art class. Yes, they actually sketch from  read more

Both have four lead female characters following their daily life with comedy, except that Bottle Fairy focus mostly in girls imagination. Even thought Bottle Fairy can be more akward.

-Both anime's moods, animation, and flow of the story/plot are very lighthearted -Both are slow-paced and centered around Slice of Life over Comedy

If you liked the animation style of Sakura Trick, and are looking for a "all girls" slice of life anime, take a look at Hidamari Sketch. The director of Sakura Trick was the Assistant Director for Hidamari Sketch. Hidamari Sketch also has a yuri relationship, although it's low key, has no ecchi, and is not the center of the series.
