While very different in themes and story, Madoka's and Hidasketch's character designs were created by the same person and look notably similar. Both series were also animated by the same studio, Shaft, which is known for its unique style of cinematography. If you loved the art and animation in Madoka Magica but want to watch a light slice of life, then you will probably enjoy Hidamari Sketch.

Madoka as an idea started during the production of Hidamari Sketch and it shows. 3 of the Magia Quartet held the same roles on Hidamari Sketch; producer Atsuhiro Iwakami, director Akiyuki Shinbou, and original character designer Ume Aoki. Shaft produced both. Madoka is clearly based off of Yuno, both being kind-hearted airheads who find themselves in unfamiliar situations, although the stakes are quite different.
Basically, Hidamari Sketch is if Madoka Magica was a normal slice-of-life.
