Both series have what appears to be a somewhat naive, 'head in the clouds' main character, though both have a hidden side and secrets to be revealed. The series also have a similar... Atmosphere to them, I guess you'd say. There is just something about both of them. Sends pleasant shivers down your spine. They also have a variety of viewpoints, both switching from time to time to focus on different characters and aspects of one huge puzzle; though Durarara is more complex than K, with a broader cast of characters as well.

Both series have a wide and diverse cast that each have their own in depth lore and association amongst others in the cast. Both series have gang vs enforcement vs focused character(s) that each compliment the other to progress the plot. I think BSD fans will be pleased with ships, visuals, voice acting, and tragedies that are well loved within Stray Dogs itself. (Plus there is background manga lore that really provides the emotions BSD early season 2 brought)

Both series feature two protagonists—one white-haired, the other black-haired—in a sort of guarded-guardian relationship. As well, both white-haired protagonists have more to them than meets the eye. The characters of Karneval and K [Project] interact within alternate realities wherein mystical occurrences are possible. The two series share the quality of having fantastical aspects in play throughout their progressions. Characters' powers are unique, and there's no shortage of futuristic gadgets and sci-fi elements. In conjunction with this environment are paramount forces and organizations that engage in power struggles as connections between characters are gradually revealed.

Similar vibe. Our main cast has a bar hangout just like in K. Gangs who possess supernatural powers. Power struggle with other gangs over territory. Lots of characters who are very close. Action packed and add some comedy from time to time. Talented voice actors can be heard in both series. For example Fukuyama Jun and many more.

Share a similar atmosphere, with underground gangs having superpowers in a similar setting.

Both series start off with the Main Character losing their memories, forgetting who they are and make it their main objective to discover their identity. The main characters of both works are also accused of a major crime by everyone, (terrorism in Eden of the East and murder in K). Both series also have a female lead who believes that the main character is not the criminal that everyone is lead to believe and a slight romance is there. Both series also have lots of twists throughout the story.

Similarities: Both involves guys with special powers. Both involves guys with special powers who dukes out with other guys with special powers. Dissimilarities: One anime is set in a world where the is ruled by kings, while the other anime is set in a world where espers are discriminated.

Both share very artistic city-like styles and have a slowly opening, convoluted plot involving super powers. I'd definetly recommend one if you like the other.

Both main characters are unaware of who they really are at first, but assume their roles quite nicely when they find out for themselves

Two fighting factions, which members have supernatural powers. Many bishounens. Apocalyptic theme. Megapolis backgrounds. And very strange one letter titles, which make hard to find these animes on torrent trackers!
report Recommended by Buran-kun
Both series are about delinquents group with leaders trying to work around each other in the same city. Main character is more or less standing outside these groups and is kinder, in a way, and trying to assist all. A lot of violence and good morals being shown afterwards.

Incredibly good looking eye candy without substance in characters and far-fetched, not-well explained stories.

I started watching K while looking for something similar to ZnT and found that it was indeed a good choice for that matter. In both shows, the main conflict occures between opposing groups who are able to use supernatural powers and circulates around a mysterious murder. Each group is led by an especially powerful or important person. Also both shows work with time leaps quite a lot. Some of the characters are kind of similar (while not from the way they look, rather from the way they act or develop, e.g. Mahiro & Yata or both of the main characters). I also got a very similar feeling  read more

Both Baccano! and 'K' have the same method of story telling in the case of having the first episode not starting from the start of the plot in the hopes of getting the viewer hooked. They are also both based off novels and have the brilliant skills of Shingo Suzuki (K: Director, Character Design. Baccano!: Animation Director)

- recurrent themes of government vs. individual - a large part of the plot is resisting against those who are wrongly in power - white haired protagonists with similar personalities - main characters with dark, hidden pasts

Both anime have similar dark atmospheres, and involve wars taking place in a modern (if not futuristic) setting. Both of them also have visually pleasing animation styles.

Quite similar, you only get what the series is about about at the very end of the series. Both are good and kinda mysterious. Worth watching if you like to get confused.

Only similarities they both have are.. -Involving bosses, leaders, territories -Both involve their gang/followers are like family to each other -I guess both give off quite similar feeling/appeal -Both contains bad-ass action fighting Difference.. -K anime is a serious anime, warm, g type, yet funny anime at times -Blood Lad is more of a funny, entertaining anime, not that serious as K anime

-Sword and Gunfights -Fantasy scyfi style -Beautiful Music and imagery K- Scyfi fantasy that dives deep into the emotions in different personality and types of people. Constant struggle for control over massive power and the claims that come with it. A mystery hidden in plane site, but dangerous none the less. Akame Ga Kill - en epic tragedy that defines every persons personality before and during death. a struggle between the power hungry and the innocent people, both obtaining powerful items that are dangerous and deadly.

Similarities: - Kings in K, Gods in Noragami - Clansmen in K, Regalias in Noragami - Kings fight each other in K, Gods fight each other in Noragami. Both have a comedic atmosphere most of the time but at any given point, everything escalates from 0 to 100 plot wise.

Praeter no Kizu is essentially an exact copy of K but without all the charm that made it fun to watch. But it might still be worth watching if you're really itching for an anime similar to K.
report Recommended by Tamakiiiiiiii
They both have "clans" or "gangs" of people with special powers who are unknown to the public. Both protagonist get into trouble with people who have special powers.

Both have ambiguously gay characters. Both contain a good solid storyline, while at the same time providing you with some fanservice. Both are slightly in the fantasy genre.

I cannot help but compare P5 to K in terms of story, artwork, music, and aesthetics that refine to each audiences' taste. Both refer to real life Japan with various cities that serve as a battleground with various groups and individuals. Not to mention both have a talking cat and amnesiac MC who is trying to uncover the past that serves the key to prove their innocence while a greater evil is lurking trying to ruin other's lives for their selfish gain.

K and Tokyo Ghoul:re contain a white haired protagonist who suffers from amnesia and doesn't remember his past. He is loved by his relatives, but some groups recognised him for his bad reputation (that linked with his action in the past). Also there's an "alter ego" who wants to take over his body. Both anime take place in a city with the clash of the groups/gangs as the main theme (Super power users in K / Either Human vs Ghoul or Ghoul vs Ghoul in Tokyo Ghoul). Of course you must watch the prequels of Tokyo Ghoul:re or read the manga for better understanding.

The overall concept of both is a normal, average boy turns out to have hidden powers, as well as, a back story they never knew of, or had forgotten about. Both set out to fight the antagonist from the world in which they really belong to, with the help of their friends and allies.
report Recommended by giraffuh
These shows are visually similar and they both have fun action sequences.

Both anime envolve around agencies with supernatural humans. They solve a verity of cases while conspiracies and fights with other organisations/gangs are unraveling behind the scenes.

- Both characters have some sort of important power, and they don't know about it. - In both animes there are like street groups like clans, like for example "HOMRA" in K-project and "Dry Juice" in Dramatical Murder. - Both are set in a futuristic world. - "Neko" is K, reminds me all those "AllMates", like Ren. - The characters are colorful, and you can associate a color with each one of them. - In both animes there are fights or battles between different clans, groups or characters.
report Recommended by Sayuri_taro
Both are urban fantasies that revolve around clans that draw supernatural powers from Kings (in "K", the kings are people, while in "Kaze no Stigma" the kings are spirits). Additionally, "Kaze no Stigma"'s first arc involving the main character getting framed for murder is used as the basis for the plot of "K"'s first season, and there's an arc late in both anime where normal people are granted powers via a mysterious network. The main characters are also quite similar: Kuroh===>Kazuma- Both are stoic, serious badasses with a dark past who are more than willing to kill when the situation calls for it. If you want to watch an anime with a quirky female character, who adores the male mc and would go to great lengths to make him happy, even though in some points it seems like she would just mess up everything, but in the end, she isn't just so simple as she might seem, then these anime might be something to you. In Occultic;Nine it would be the energetic, fooling and happy Ryoutasu, who has also said that she is Gamon's minion. In K it would be the energetic, joyful Neko, who also appreciate food. Both have a really nice design of the character and interesting, unique, but similar stories. They are both really interesting to watch. They have one same premise - to save the world. They have pretty male characters and a couple of pretty female characters too.

They're both solid series with tons of style involving gang violence. Both have solid artwork and sound design, but Banana Fish in particular is exceptionally well written! Banana Fish also has the substance that K lacks.
report Recommended by DiscipleOfKreia
Weak duo of protagonists participate in war of factions. There is lot of dialogue between characters why some feuds happen. In GS there is more fights and tempo is faster. My 8/10 and 9/10 anime underrated as heck.
report Recommended by Kareblis
- Plot is about factions fighting each other - Characters rely on each other which is tough sometimes - Both take place in concrete jungles K has more nicely written factions, it even makes you support faction different than the protagonist one

Both have great rap-like soundtracks, even if the premises are radically different.

Both are anime is sidekick and awesome air gear and K Project Gangs K Project fight for gangs air gear sports with boots wheels not sci-fi While K is more superpower based Air Gear is more based around extreme physics.

This series and K give me the same vibe sort of. The intrigue between factions, having supernatural powers is similar and the character interactions. They both have overarching main stories but I think the story line in K flows better and has a better MC.

First of all I've got to say that I got pretty much the same vibe from K as from Kiznaiver. In K the main character doens't know everything of his past and who he really is, so it is also in Kiznaiver. In both anime the main character has a funny and eccentric company and tries to survive with them in a bit weird(?) environment while other people tries to have fun of them or get rid of them.
report Recommended by Suoniemi
I think the spirit of K really lies in the competitive dynamic between the different super powered groups. The characters all are exhilarated by their rivalries and violent fights, yet a bittersweet feeling underlies it because of the consequences of their powers. GetBackers has a similar tone. It is a friendship story between two young men whose pasts have been shaped and twisted by their abilities. They encounter many obstacles, but revel in the chance to test their powers. Both shows are carried by this excitement and the emotion between characters as they battle for and against each other.

Seikaisuru Kado and K(K-Projects) are odd animes. For both the main point is about power to "control or save" the world. I especially recommend it because it represents interesting content. They have different anime themes with development of diplomatic deployments and characters who face popular ideal of "xenophobic truth" against a rival group just to try make peace. "Watch"! You will like at least of what you will "see"!

Both series have a world with kings that have followers whom gain magical powers from their lords and both series revolve around this concept. Both focus on the struggles these powered individuals have to face. K focuses a little more on these magical people and has a modern day setting in contrast to Magi's fantasy setting and more focus on the society. Also, K is full of bishounen and has a unique soundtrack comparable to Magi.

- Amazing and unique visuals + color themes that are colorful and different from the general normal of anime - Great soundtracks - A focus on mind games - Similar design of female characters as well as similar personalities

More magical sword play, special effects, and some pretty awesome fight scenes.

After watching K, the characters Shirou and Kuro totally reminded me of Allen and Kanda especially their personality & relationship. More importantly they are different shows but have powerful beings such as exorcists, clans, kings, and akumas. Come to think of it Neko might be Lenalee.
report Recommended by SlaughterDagger
Cute supernaturally charged main character, whose mysterious past is connected to the the other characters in an as yet unclear way, with a devoted helper/friend by his side, with shounen-ai undertones. The light yet engaging and humorous tone of the anime carries the more serious episodes with ease without too much muddying up the waters.
report Recommended by lilithilk
They both have people with supernatural abilities. Both characters Ganta and Yashiro are accused of murdering someone, also Shiro in Deadman Wonderland is similar to Neko. There isn't really many similarities but it has a similar feel to Deadman and if you like one, it's likely you will like the other.
report Recommended by gin-and-horse
The supernatural element is quite similar in both anime, especially the king's power and the power of the contractor, and is set in an (slightly) alternate universe. Both have opposing organisations in control of, or fighting to control, these powers - the sources of which remains mostly mysterious throughout both series. Darker Than Black has more sophisticated storytelling than K (which is considerably less 'put together') and better developed characters. However, K is good for general entertainment, especially since it's only 13 episodes long, while DTB has more episodic storytelling over 25 episodes.

The main characters have the same feel; in [C], Kimimaro and Mashu are in a trust relationship that also seems like a one sided master pet relationship; in [K], Neko and Shiro also have the same relationship. Additionally, both animes contain a fine line of fantasy, and the fighting style is similar [although in C they use assets, and in K they use swords or other magic] Minaki also highly reminds me of Mikoto Suoh from K.

They have the same kind of animation by GoHands, the same character design and exactly the same way of coloring, beacuse both of them made my Shingo Suzuki. They have the same sci-fi setting with super powers, and a protagonist who has a little animal on his side, and the main characters face with enemies who are trying to kill theme.

Both are action-genre animes. I love the sophistication of the effects and settings. Both have the story of pursuing one goal while knowing what magic/powers they have within.

The basic outlines are very similar with both of these stories. Both include gangs that hate and love each other and their top leaders friends with the other gangs' top leader. The fighting styles are very similar into the anime as well.

Gangs, Leaders, Clans! Both anime have 3+ clan tribe leaders with rivalry and has one wicked gang tribe leader that everyone wants to kill or be friends with. Blue Vs. Red conspiracy also happens in both of the anime.

Despite the differences, the setting as comparing between the shows is in the city where humans fight with supernatural powers from supremacy. K deals mostly with clans whereas 5D's involves humans with signs that originated from their respective cards.

Both have a very cool art style, both have a main male character who's life before this certain 'first episode incident' is a mystery. Also both anime are referring to a silver king (in shakugan no shana is more on the sequels) and the main character's existence is somehow erased.

There are no real villains. There are people who oppose the protagonist, but they have their own personal reasons. I like how these shows show both sides. In Angel Beats, Angel and Naoi kinda opposed Otonashi. In K, HOMRA is trying to get Shiro.

The thing they have in common is the presence of a group of really strong people, way stronger than others, that have the real power. In bleach those are the captains, in K the kings. I enjoyed both!

-Both series involve in gang warfare -Both have a similar plot and atmosphere -Both protagonists (Yatogami Kuroh and Nicolas Brown) use a katana as their signature weapon -Both have a strange girl (Neko and Alex Benedetto) as their sidekick -The difference is that K Project is more on superpowers, while Gangsta is much more violent, bloody, and realistic.

Sana is the red queen and Anna is the red princess. Both are little girls with magical powers who have been forced to endure painful testing. Both have also found friendship with a grumpy man. While the two stories are quite different, Sana and Anna have a large number of similarities.

Both anime are a battle royal where everyone is trying to survive and progress, In K it's trying to promote your king so that he gains the power of all the kings. In Btooom people are transported to an island because someone they new wrote their name on a piece of paper and now they have to collect 7 crystals or die trying.
