they are both very artistic and poetic and driven by an awesome musical score.. so if you can't appreciate something that's more interpretive and artsy then this probably isn't for you.. they feel something like a daydream, something pleasant and floaty.. yea, floaty.. hah.. anyways they're both great.

Both are set in a surrealistic world.

Both are surreal works with an emphasis on water-the unmoving ocean in one and steadily rising rain in the other.

They both belong to the dreamy Tamura Shigeru Studio and have a surreal quality of story-telling think pieces with heart. Phantasmagoria consists of fifteen 5-minute shorts and each is a delight.

Well executed surreal with obscure-ocean setting. They both concern about fish.

Kujira no Chouyaku is a world of bright, bold blocks of colour (usually mono-colours), with emphasis on line and shadows (I recommend it to fans of graphic novels and comics), while Iblard Jikan is set in the style of a Sureal-Impressionist painting due to the amazing style of artist, Naohisa Inoue who created the paintings used for the animations.
