Yes, I absolutely love Kia Asamiya's artwork.
Instant Japanese would be a better choice for mastering everyday Japanese, great for self-teaching. May the author or Boyé Lafayette de Mente RIP, a man about Osamu Tezuka's age.
I have yet to read They Were 11 which sounds like the manga my semitomboyish friend Jasmine would enjoy as much as Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin which sadly, didn't get a full adaptation. I love Yoshikazu Yasuhiko's artwork by the way and so does said semitomboy from North Carolina who is also a historical nerd.
As for anime, I'm mostly re-watching what I've seen decades ago and I really hope that Macross movies will start coming out next year. A half-Asian tomboy showed me that Den of Geek article about future Macross movies not too long ago. Would be nice to see your favorite seiyuu take on new roles as well.
Hopefully, Romi Park will be a pilot or a little boy the same age as Loran from Turn A Gundam in a future Macross movie. My Canadian friend is a huge fan of Romi Park as well.
With that said milady, I marvel at your ability to read that many manga.
Hmm! I guess I should check out Gou Tanabe's works too.
Re-watching IGPX makes me wish that Namco Bandai could do a remake of Cyber Sled, my favorite arcade game since I was very little besides Jurassic Park stuff from Sega. Being a kid in the 90s was awesome.
I also re-watched Twilight Venom once again this year and I just love the English dubbing in that anime.
Have you been studying Japanese too and what kind of sci-fi manga do you usually like?
And I wouldn't really say I have weird taste in entertainment, but I do tend to like the less popular and more obscure series
I see I have found someone with good taste on this site!
By the way, we're working on a new version of Crow NCOP with lyrics, it should be ready soon.
