Both anime are about a girl who can turn into a ghost (but in Noragami it isn't as permanent). The main male character is helping the girl out to turn back to normal.

These series involve demons leaving their world and entering the human world. Maou and Staz (the main protagonists from each series) are both demos, who are overpowered, somewhat ignorant of the human world, and come across as anti-villain type good guy. Each of these series has a bit of romance and disguises a darker plot in a very colorful vibrant world. Neither series takes itself very serious as they each have their share of parody moments.

- Both have a Halloween-like theme to it filled with supernatural creatures galore. - Both are shonen fighting anime. - Fanservice galore in both - Similar humor - Soul and Staz both have really similar personalities - The art style to Blood Lad is strikingly similar to Soul Eater's in a way. I actually believed that both of them were by the same creator when I first saw Blood Lad! So if you like the art style in one then you might really like the other.

In both series, there is a supernatural setting where there are beings that are otherworldly. Additionally, the main male protagonist are hotheaded and are not human themselves. There is a lot of humor in both series although Blood Lad also has more fan service and even a little romance. However, they both have the fact that the main male protagonist is not human and possesses similar personalities. Both shows also gives similar vibes in regards to its atmosphere.

If you're fan of comedy involving supernatural beings or certain day when a normal character becomes abnormal, then Sankarea and Blood Lad are two series that should be worth a try. They both involve the concept in which a normal character who recently died returns to life but no longer are the same as they are before. They must adjust to their new living conditions and often faces new strange twists with the "life" they live now. Both series has a lot of comedy and fun dialogues. The character interactions are also amusing to watch. At the same time, expect little bits of romance development along with  read more

Both have a powerful vampire main character that lives in a demon city. Also both contain some comedy.

-Both involves delinquents as bosses -Both super strong and supernatural powers -Both involves demons, underworld, demon kings/bosses -Both hilarious, good, entertaining -Both involves a lot of big boob + eechi
report Recommended by iNinjeek
Both lighthearted comedies that feature super natural beings like Vampires, Werewolfs etc.
report Recommended by JVskunkape
Very similar art style and humor. The demon lord or in this case vampire lord meets a unique person. He helps her out and on the way becomes more human like than demon/vampire.

Both comedy intensive series with eccentric characters. Both have great characters with lots of varied and really strong character designs. Both have super up beat OSTs & great art styles.
report Recommended by JVskunkape
-Both anime have a formidable prison (In Nanbaka the prison is the main setting, while in Blood Lad it's just a minor setting). -Both MCs have a group with unique members (Vampire & Demons in Blood Lad / "Super" humans in Nanbaka). -Similar artstyle and color scheme. -Both focused on action and comedy.
report Recommended by renzospark
Both anime feature vampires, similar atmosphere, similar art, feeling, some crazy characters, comedy and a halloween themed world. Plot is a bit different. But if you like blood lad you will definitely like servant.
report Recommended by Rose007
Same type of comedy in both animes. Both have people with supernatural powers.
report Recommended by richie233
They both involve a badass main character. They both have something to do with territories and battles for land.
report Recommended by Littaylor
Blood Lad and Dorohedoro both involve a main character that has been transformed and is trying to figure out how to turn back into normal humans (Caiman and Fuyumi). It involves the human world and demon world being separate, and transportation between them is possible through magic doorways created by sorcerers. Both have a diverse, likeable cast; both are trying to solve a mystery. Both have a weird magic drug addiction. Watch Blood Lad if you wished Dorohedoro was a little bit more zany with lower stakes. Watch Dorohedoro if you wished Blood Lad was way more gruesome and more action-packed.
report Recommended by azumarillo
Both series about young demons who use comedy as a major focus. Both of those main characters are sons are very powerful & the highest rank of demon.
report Recommended by JVskunkape
Both feature demons and show their own interpretations of demon society. Blood lad is a lot more lighthearted although both shows depict similar ideas of supernatural demonic entities. Both have great humour although Demon Slayer/KnY's is used more sparingly.

Only similarities they both have are.. -Involving bosses, leaders, territories -Both involve their gang/followers are like family to each other -I guess both give off quite similar feeling/appeal -Both contains bad-ass action fighting Difference.. -K anime is a serious anime, warm, g type, yet funny anime at times -Blood Lad is more of a funny, entertaining anime, not that serious as K anime
report Recommended by iNinjeek
Both animes show: * a character with a purpose to go into the human world * scenes that are not really serious * plenty of references of other anime and video games
report Recommended by UnfortunateLefty
Both anime have a violent dark comedy humor, strong main character with a supernatural twist, and quirky animation that gives them similar vibe.
report Recommended by Ploom
Both have super natural elements such as death gods called shimigami and vampires and demons. The main character desides to become a hero, in death note by killing criminals, in blood lad by resurecting a girl that turned into a ghost back to her human form.
report Recommended by JakklL
More undead humor? Of course. More undead fights? Why, certainly. Are the characters as cold as their bodies? That's a difficult question. One of the main aspects in both worlds is how the personalities of Zombie-Loan's zombies and Blood Lad's vampires and their like can develop. Their casual and not so casual lives (or "deaths?") will be explored. And fights against ridiculous or outright weird opponents. Expect them. Why is it so troublesome to be undead in either world?!

Vampires, werewolves and other mythical creatures. Both series portrayed vampires as one of the strongest demons. The concept of the two series is quite similar - there are the main character and the girl he wants to protect.
report Recommended by Gokudo-kun
Both about vampires; besides Hipira could perfectly be the child-version of Staz: they like adventures, they're quite clumsy and reticent about their feelings, they like exploring unknow worlds...
report Recommended by Jajja
-similar art style -awesome fights -great characters -lots of funny moments -supernatural powers -both are really pleasant and enjoyable series

Bell reminded me of Haruko a lot. Both have a zany world and some non-sensical action. Both are short fun times, sadly Blood Lad is incomplete though.
report Recommended by WitchJacqueline
Both feature vampires (though Blood Lad shows other creatures too. In different ways, the vamp's life is sort of ruled by a human (though, Blood Lad is in a romantic sort of way). The shows carry the same dark tones, violent and bloody with some humor. They also share seiyuus (Yuki Kaji, Takuma Terashima, & Ryohei Kimura).

Adventure with non-human protagonists and various clichés. Both are not very well done, but they are fun to watch and have some nice fights.
report Recommended by Sardinyas
Blood Lad and Vanitas no Karte both revolve around vampires, and have a similar brand of humor. The stories are very different, but the main characters, Staz and Vanitas, are kinda similar, and both aren’t afraid to switch from light hearted moments to dark moments (more in Vanitas no Karte). Check them out!

Similarities : - Dark joke as a main theme in this two series - incredible action-packed plot - main cast ridiculously strong - unique world building

Both have the same premise, adventure and battle using supernatural powers while protecting the girl. Spiced up with ecchi scenes for the heroine.

Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt and Blood Lad have some things in common. First of all, both anime have parody elements in them, with Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt parodying Western media and Blood Lad parodying several manga and anime series. Both anime also have a similar set of main protagonists as well. The art styles are similar to an extent as well. I really like both, but I prefer Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt. However, Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt is much more crude and vulgar than the relatively tame Blood Lad, so keep that in mind.

Connecting to supernatural affairs. Blood Lad and Shakugan no Shana give a supernatural MC to pair up with a clueless human MC, of who ends up pairing up with the supernatural being during their new irregular lives. In Blood Lad, the vampire Staz finds the human Fuyumi, who ends up dying. With this, Staz vows to resurrect Fuyumi, of which, proceeds for him and Fuyumi on a long journey to resurrect Fuyumi. However, Shakugan no Shana puts Yuuji in the same situation, though, it is impossible for him, as a torch, to come back to life. Due to this, he follows Shana and her missions as  read more

Parody to dragon ball franchise. The MC is an otaku who is addicted to Japan and of course, anime. His favorite anime is dragon ball series.

both have similar comedy both are mixed with romance both have the same athmosphera, though the plot is very diferent, Hayate Ayasaki is a hardworking boy whose irresponsible parents even give him as a payment of a futile debt to the Yakuza. Fleeing from his pursuers, he meets the girl Nagi Sanzen and decides to kidnap her but, fumbling, seems to make her a declaration of love; can not make the request for ransom. At that moment, two true hijackers appear that lead Nagi, but Hayate goes behind. He manages to save her and asks for a job as a reward, but he gets hurt.  read more

I was surprised that I enjoyed a vampire anime so much. I was nervous when I saw Staz's initial reaction to human Fuyumi, but after his stalkery interest in her went away, I warmed up to the anime. I originally tried it out because someone commented that the same voice of Nice in Hamatora is Staz Charlie Blood in Blood Lad. The characters are the most interesting part of this story. Definitely make sure to watch the OVA as well because this anime gears up in episode 10 and then drops you cold. -KH

Aliens and supernatural creatures are crazy for human entertainment.

The roles are somewhat reversed but both Seto no Hanayome and Blood involves a normal main character whose life changes after an abnormal day when they meet a supernatural being. From there on, they have a strange relationship in their worlds. There is a lot of humor and comedy as well as references in both series. In fact, it makes usage of these to entertain viewers. There is hints of romance that is accompanied with humor. Along with that, both series contains supernatural elements that are out of the normal world.

Coincidentally Staz and Nice are both voiced by Ohsaka Ryota. Both of them act the same way but are awesome/epic at the same time. Staz and Nice are gang leaders and the most powerful person ever. Each has a crew of members who help him when he is in a bind. One series takes place in the Makai (demon) world city while other is just a city. Both series are filled with action and comedy.
report Recommended by AnimeFan500
Both series have lots of comedy and involve fighting. Along with the humor both series still have a good story behind it.
report Recommended by MunrowjinBuu
Both has Parody.Fun, in a really own way, and a main character that's not necessarily a "hero", and just do the things as they want.
report Recommended by supersayajim3
Both anime feature a "Highly intelligent, plans everything that's happening, everything everyone does is part of his plan and benefits him" type of character. In Log Horizon, it's the main character: Shiroe In Blood Lad, he's only a support character: Braz D. Blood Lastly, you could say Braz is basically a vampire version of Shiroe. The way they are drawn is extremely similar. Same glasses, nearly the same hair, similar height, etc.

They have to do with demons, magical stuff basically. Also, the characters are serious yet hilarious.
report Recommended by anime_freak1234
A magical world and demons living in the ordinary world? Yes that's right both these animes have this kind of setting with lots of comedy, great characters and a nice pacing!
report Recommended by RafaelDeJongh
Is it really about vampires? No. It's about a few numskulls getting up to shenanigans and some of them are vampires.
report Recommended by newagemage
Both feature supernatural beings in curses (jjk) and the demon society (blood lad). Both have great humour with very lovable characters & OSTs.
report Recommended by JVskunkape
Both are comedy anime that feature the "demon lord in human world" trope.
report Recommended by Indolence
Both anime have main characters that are leader of some kind of gang. Both anime can be quite silly. Both have a human girl who has been turned into a monster and is trying to become human again.
report Recommended by BerrakBurcu
Both are action-packed anime that take a seemingly overdone genre (vampires/samurai) and put it in a refreshingly humorous and contemporary perspective. The protagonists are distinctly strong and violent, but one way or another end up on a quest to help a ditzy girl. If you liked one, then you'll likely enjoy the other too.
report Recommended by lovelything
Both have a very unique animation, along with both of them having a supernatural theme. Although Bakemonogatari progresses through talking, Blood Lad progresses with a lot more action in it.
report Recommended by ConquestOtaku17
Both Vampire/Super natural heavy anime with good humour. Great characters, soundtracks & characters. Unique & cool character designs.
report Recommended by JVskunkape
The plots of these two shows are very different, but if you're looking for a refreshing comedy they have a lot in common! Both shows make references to various media, such as manga.

both will have you laughing like crazy! the mains are sorta similar in a way since they are both otakus and I think their attitudes and personality are kinda the same. if you enjoyed Blood Lad you will surely enjoy No game No life and vice versa!
