From the same manga author. Focuses on a young boy's experience with romance and baseball.

Slow-paced but steady and beautifully executed character development. While the characters in both series are very different from each other and are at different parts of their lives, the themes of both are very similar. Both are also produced in the 1980s and gives you a very genuine feel for what Japan was like at the time. If you loved one, you'll love the other.

Both are great pieces of work from Adachi, Mitsuru. Though Touch is better just because it is longer and the plot has plenty more time to develop. H2 has the same vibe as Touch and the "main" girl look alike. If you just got done with Touch watch H2 you won't be disappointed.

Actually, the only thing both series have in common are the protagonists, who both play baseball by throwing nothing but fastballs. The most obvious difference is, that Major was pretty much only about some overly cheery guy, who is the best anyway, gathers some friends and gets them into his hobby - and everyone's performances increases. Touch, which is way older anime, also many of these elements, yet hasn't a story that is as unsurprising as Major. Apart from the romance part, which still is kind of cute. So if you're looking for another baseball anime, (which, imo, surpasses Major by far,) with a  read more

Similar genre: romance, comedy, slice of life, only Touch is better.

Watching Hiatari Ryoukou! after Touch is like the most natural progression. Hiatari Ryoukou is an older manga than Touch but after the success of Touch's anime adaptation Group TAC decided to adapt it with much of the same staff and cast members returning (except VA of Minami Asakura unfortunately). The anime also adds a lot of things to the series that wasn't in the manga which is in fact, a plus point. There are some sports in Hiatari Ryoukou but it takes a backseat most of the time unlike Touch, which is a baseball anime through and through. But Yusaku Takasugi is literally Tatsuya Uesugi.  read more

- Main and some side characters have a lot of similar traits; - Protagonist got hidden reserve that reveals over time; Although Touch has more sport-oriented theme with better story line and character interactions, you can still get some enjoyment with Suzuka.

If you watched Touch then you should watch Mix as the latter is an indirect sequel to the former. It's not just an alternative setting like it's said on MAL. If you watched Mix then it's a no-brainer to watch Touch since I think Touch is a lot better and not to mention also a finished work. Both series feature a brother dynamic with a female main character who's like a sister to them but also a potential love interest. Both take place in the same school but 30 years apart from each other. They have similar themes and characters and the same end goal  read more

Both are heart warming stories that deal with the daily lives of teenagers and an occurring traumatic event. The characters need to get over the death to move on. Here touch is more driven and characters struggle is more entertaining.

Both are shonen with mix of sport and romance. The difference is that even though both are Slice of Life "Touch" has elements of tragedy and drama which are present in "Ao no hako".

Sports series where the passing away of a friend / teamate brings everyone togethor to win for their sake. and emotional moments around the middle of the series that greatly impacts the main characters.

Same creator, same feeling, love triangles

Both are excellent choices if you want to watch some funny, entertaining, retro, over-the-top slice-of-life anime series.

Both works by the same author. Baseball and romance is the base as usual. I just think Nine is better, I think Touch is a bad anime.

Both are baseball anime where main character is lazy and unmotivated for various reasons although they have potential.

Both anime revolve around the pitcher. 'Ookiku Furikabutte' follows a hard working kid with no talent, and 'Touch' follows a kid with major talent but no work ethic (at first anyway).

it's the same sport both Tatsuya Uesugi and Hyūma Hoshi aiming to become the top ace pitcher

it's the same sport. whit guys extraordinary talanted for baseball.

Both shows are of the sports anime genre. Despite these two series actually being about different sports, they both follow the same basic storyline. More people should watch Musashi no Ken; it's a classic on the same level as touch by all means.

Touch is also an anime about baseball, but it's older, as it started airing in 1985. But don't be surprised or reluctant to start watching it, as it is very good. It's long, but a nice watch and includes other genres such as comedy, romance, slice of life. I really like Adachi Mitsuru and this anime is a good adaptation of his manga with the same name. If you heard of him or watched Cross Game, H2, you should really like this anime, as it is similar to them.

There are similarities between the two main characters in both animes. The two characters from each story are brothers, the younger brother is the popular one with more success and fame, while the older one is down on his luck however is more talented than the younger brother. Both older brothers have a life-changing experience and begin to work their way towards their respective goals, and over come the younger sibling.

If you are looking for an anime where there is lazy main character, who doesn't like to do anything, then they are both similar in that part. When they concentrate on something they are exceptionally good though and surprise many people. Both take place in High School. Differences are that Hyouka is mystery solving and Touch is about sports. Touch is older but there are some good versions out there.

Drama, baseball, and love for the game all meshed together to form a melodramatic vibe.
