Just Another Casual Anime Watcher… or So I Claim
Hey, I’m Shirou Itsuka, 19, just a regular student who enjoys a good anime binge now and then. Not an otaku or anything, don’t worry—I’m not out here collecting figurines or memorizing theme songs. Just a casual watcher who might occasionally fall into a 12-hour marathon because, well, why not? If you’re into casual anime convos or just need someone to recommend a show that won’t ruin your life with endless filler episodes, I’m your person.

Ranking My “Totally Casual” Anime Journey
Ah, it all started with Naruto—the gateway drug I didn’t see coming. Just an innocent show about a loud ninja kid, right? Fast forward, and here I am, judging every anime by how much it reminds me of Naruto’s “Believe it!” From there, I’ve climbed the ranks of anime, reluctantly hooked on everything from super-powered high school kids to emotionally scarring plot twists. So here’s my “I’m not an otaku, I swear” ranking list of anime, judged purely by how much sleep I lost binge-watching each one.
From Ninjas to Titans, and Somehow… High School Romances?
I started with Naruto, dreaming of becoming the greatest ninja—simple times. Then came Attack on Titan, where my new idea of "entertainment" was watching giants eat people while humanity struggled to survive. Hunter x Hunter dropped me into an existential crisis as I questioned whether I’d survive the Hunter Exam (spoiler: I wouldn’t). One Punch Man showed me that being overpowered is just plain boring. Jujutsu Kaisen proved that high schoolers can fight cursed spirits while dealing with typical teenage angst. Death Note gave me a taste of a guy who decides to play god and wipe out criminals. Now, I’ve wandered into romance, fantasy, and slice-of-life, where teens have more intense love triangles than most adults. After all the soul-crushing battles and power-ups, I’m still stuck watching characters figure out their love lives. Because apparently, saving the world still doesn’t stop you from wondering if your crush likes you. What a ride.
Anime Romance: More Emotional Rollercoasters Than I Signed Up For
So, here’s the thing: I never thought anime romance would hit harder than any of the epic action scenes. But Clannad? Oh, boy, I cried like my life depended on it. I mean, you start with these innocent high schoolers, and next thing you know, you’re emotionally wrecked by life’s biggest tragedies and the kind of love that makes you question everything. It’s like they intentionally target your heart with every twist and turn. And then life happened—work, responsibilities, and suddenly I’ve got no time for anime. I guess, in the end, it’s not just the giant monsters or cursed spirits that’ll leave you traumatized. Sometimes, it’s the quiet moments of romance and heartbreak that really mess you up. But hey, life’s busy. No time for anime anymore… unless, of course, it’s that one show that might still shatter my soul.
