Cool! "Saiki was a bit fast paced for the joke to sink in at times" yeah i agree on this. But i think saiki kusuo does comedy more consistent, but whenever gintama does very good jokes, i LOL harder than saiki kusuo.

JUST the comedy aspect, which do you think is more funny, saiki kusuo or gintama?

in the anime, i'm at prior to the Fishman land arc, after the strawhat crew went to sabaody again. In the manga I'm at the part when strawhat crew just went to the reversed mountain (around chapter 100). I'm gonna do like this, read the manga until i'm right now in the anime. Then watch fishman island arc, after finish watching it, i'm gonna stop for a while read the manga until finish FmI arc. Then Im gonna watch dressrosa arc, then stop, read manga until finish dressrosa arc... and you know the rest. I think you understand what im trying to say

Just here to confirm that yes, the Rosario+Vampire manga and it's sequel are drastically different compared to it's anime seasons.

The manga still has plenty of ecchi and harem stuff going on, but its much darker in it's tone and story, there's actual character development and decent story progression instead of some lame-ass comedy/ecchi tropes to fill time.

Definitely check it out.

Steel Ball Run is fantastic imo. SBR originally started out as a spinoff of JoJo and doesn't have any connection to Part 6, so you can read it without reading past parts if you want to.

The manga's great, I'd definitely recommend it. Hirohiko Araki's art is amazing and it's pretty interesting to watch his art style change as you read. Diamond is Unbreakable goes through like 3 or 4 different looks. The anime fixes a lot of the manga's inconsistencies, like the characters' heights in Part 4 for example, and the Part 4 anime reorders a few story arcs for the better, but it also has to cut out some less necessary content from the manga. The Part 4 manga is 174 chapters and they had to adapt that into a 39 episode tv series, so the anime was bound to cut out some stuff. Besides all of things I've mentioned, the anime is pretty faithful to the manga, so you're not missing out on much by not reading it, and the Part 5 anime is coming next month on October 6 so you don't really need to read Part 5 now unless you want to. If you do ever want to read JoJo you can download the chapters in color here or read the colored version online here
