This manga is so outright odd and absurd it's hilarious, impossible to take it seriously.
The "seductive but autistic" shoujo man archetype here is brought to its astounding limits.
The women are a little more vivid, which is not saying much, even if the protagonist just take decisions for the sake of the plot. No character improvement so far whatsoever (when you think Koharu finally grew up a little, BANG she does something really stupid).
The "moral clashs" the characters have in the course of the story are laughable, same thing as the occasional drama.
I guess if you like abusive relationships or hitting your

I feel like everyone who has read this manga stayed up really late to read it, like myself... It's a curse. I've read the reviews and known what I was getting myself into but wow... it was worse than I thought.
The polygamous relationship peaked my interest and curiosity at the beginning and tbh it was pretty enjoyable up until a certain point. (For me, it was around chapter 105.) The author really forced this idea of keeping a polygamous relationship when it really didn't need one. The story felt like it was empty. Nothing was ever solved but more or less pushed to the side. ... Aug 17, 2020
This review will have spoilers in it, still, I'll try to remain vague about the reason for "major" plot points. TL;DR without spoilers at the very end.
This story is like a drug. Why do I say it's like a drug, you may ask? BECAUSE DRUGS ARE BAD FOR YOU. I feel like anyone who's approaching this story will likely finish it in a few sitting as it draws you in in the same way you'll get drawn in by watching a car crash. It's a dumpster fire that keeps on giving and whenever you feel like it can't get worse and it'll finally start to get ... Mar 3, 2022
This manga REEKS of sexism and patriarchy. It is the perfect example that just because it was written by a woman doesn't mean it's feminist. Unfortunately women can adopt sexist views as well.
*Spoilers* I read a couple of reviews before writing mine and it seemed that no one stated what was obvious to me. Forget about scores, characters , art etc for a moment. There is a scene where Koharu is starting to have suspicions about Ryuu seeing another woman outside the Hare-Kon and is tempted to pry his cell phone. Ryuu sees her holding his cell phone and does what? He takes her pants ... Dec 7, 2020
Harems are a dime a dozen in the world of anime and manga, portrayed as the ultimate male fantasy and often played for laughs, it’s a trope that is riddled with issues while not portraying polygamy with any real accuracy beyond gratuitous sex. For some, polygamy is an alternative lifestyle that can be fulfilling and painful for others.
Polygamy has been a vehicle for numerous abuses all over the world, and it is generally misunderstood by many that see it as free reign to cheat on partners. The truth is, there are committed polygamous relationships, but rules are set by those within the relationship in the ... Feb 23, 2017
though I oppose polygamy(and the opposite) act but this manga really gets me into it aside of my views.
the story is not about typical harem manga stuff, the author really describe polygamy in women perspective, and since the women who encounter this situation is the MC, whom an individual, asexual(?), tomboy girl, the story went awkward, but rather become funnier somehow lol. another thing that catch my eyes is the CHARACTERS, OHHHHH the author were too goood for this one. its not moes*it, its a semi-real creatures we were talk about, its a rare thing to see cute, beautiful ladies pairing with long haired cool cooling ... Bad. Like really, monstrously bad.
Story: 1/10 The story follows a young girl named Koharu Maezono who after a bad breakup in Tokyo returns home to find her family in debt, 30million yen in debt. Out of a sense of duty to her family to save her parents from selling their house and restaurant she agrees to marry a mysterious man named Ryuunosuke Date. This is when things get really ugly. Date already has two wives and is forming his own harem. He's extremely sexually active and dominating, regularly attempting to force himself on Koharu. The story basically follows Koharu's relationship in the Dare family as she puts ... Jan 20, 2019
I have never written a review before, however, this manga was so bad i felt compelled to. I had seen screenshots of it before and decided to check it out because of the nice art and hot main guy, and went into this pretty skeptical after I read the synopsis. I am not a fan of harems, but thought I should try one on for size.
The entire time I read Hare-kon, i felt sick to my stomach. the women in this marriage are being emotionally abused and MC was sexually assaulted several times in the 30 something chapters I read. For something that's supposed ... Jul 7, 2024
This manga is… Distressing. The art is great, some panels are breathtaking. But… The tone can be all over the place and some of these portrayals of human relationships is sickening to me, personally. Not just that, but there isn’t a single moment where all characters are happy. The titillation is just… Gratuitous and dumb. I think some may like it, I personally say tread carefully with this one. So much cheating, so much sexism and perversion… And it’s presented in this wholesome package.
I think the main character is a floozy who just gets tossed around based on circumstance. The main protagonist is a ... Dec 12, 2020
Contrary to the majority, I don't dislike Ryuu one bit, in fact he's interesting af, he reads "troubled" women like a mirror and are attracted to them, no surprise the author is a woman so she knows the ideal alpha male, all male harem authors should take note
IDK why most readers would want them to leave him when the whole premise is tackling the pros and cons of polygamy SMH it's like saying Light is evil each and every episode of DN, preaching one's own ego ugh!! Low-key disappointed, it didn't utilize it's full potential, it hold back, if there's a sequel, Urara better join ... Jul 19, 2020
I just finished reading it, but it was better not to finish... nasty final fuck
This will be short and brief, that ending was horrific. Multiple things were never investigated. He wanted to know more about Ryuu's past, I think he would develop it further. Instead, he presents himself as a complete idiot and a filthy man. The women in this practically adore him. Maybe this is how NON wanted it to be, that's fine and all, but there should have been a bit more depth to the characters. There was a bit of Madoka but not much (and this manga made me hate his character). ... Apr 15, 2018
I don't usually ever write a review out, nor have I ever, so please go easy on me as this is my first review. I just had to say something about this manga and speak a piece of my mind about this story. First off the story is very nice, it makes my heart flutter and the characters before I even noticed I became enticed with them. Later throughout the manga, very far, they start to come into some really ridiculous problems that really gave me a shock factor from how nice the story was going at first. What i'm trying to say it becomes

I've read a lot of problematic shit in the past years but this was... so bad. And such a waste of time. It feels like NOTHING. The characters are all so annoying (ML is terrible.. i dont even know how to describe him... he's a manipulator, a r*pist, unfaithful... and the list goes on and on), and it feelsl ike nothing really happens into the story, nothing changes, there's no character development and all his wives are stuck with him no matter how badly he treats them and how much he cheats on them or treats them like shit. It pains me that the author

So let's get this out of the way first, yes, the artwork is great. I saw some mangacaps from this and wanted to check it out because I was in the market for some romance. This definitely didn't satisfy that.
All this is is another harem manga where everyone just manipulates the women into thinking, 'hey! sharing men is great and I love this harem situation all of a sudden'. There are only 2 sensible characters in this manga, and both of them leave (which is why they're sensible). The guy is just a manipulative creep, the MC is naive but that's nothing new, and then ... gotta admit this manga was a black sheep among the harem genre.
from the illustration point of view, this surely an incredible manga, and for me the writing is not that bad after all the ups and down the story has to offer. the concept of this realistic harem is really good the biggest flaw i see in this manga is the rushed final arc. it doesn't have much context needed and the whole who's Rin father is a bother. but over all i think this manga is a whole lot better than the average isekai harem being animated every season. first of all the title itself explains it all so dont go expecting a vanilla story out of this. I like the manga the author stirs a lot of emotions in you as a reader, it may not be a story to your liking but i can tell you it is a very well written manga! Its one of those manga that once you read you cant stop, you get sucked on the story and sometimes even relate to these characters plus the art is absolute divine! You see the title already so you know what your getting into so stop crying and complain about

I only read this because I was bored this summer, but it was quite addicting to read. I finished all 187 chapters in about 7 hours lol. In all honesty, I don't normally read steamy mangas like this one...let alone a harem one...and I don't think I will again. I'm conflicted as the art is so pretty and the story is actually fun to follow (there's SO much drama all the time) up until about chapter 100 or so, and then the storyline just goes downhill. Although never a dull moment, there are scenes where I have to ask "Did this really need to happen??"

I am honestly ashamed that I am even writing some sort of review for this. I feel like most people, I decided to binge read this in like 2 nights and of course I am coming to regret it. Did I see the bad reviews? Yes. Did I listen? Obviously not.
I initially saw a screenshot on tumblr and thought the ML was good looking so I thought. "Hey, why not?" Welp, not getting ideas from tumblr again. While the art is interesting, the story itself is just bad and the characters even worse. What good is an attractive ML if he's absolutely awful? Just do ... Feb 18, 2021
At first, it was very weird for me to be reading a story pro-polygamy, but with time that became the most ok thing in the plot.
Madoka is terrible, her character is easy to hate and when it comes to her arc and you get her side of the story, you'll think "oh well she had a rough time", then she leaves her clearly unhappy marriage and will finally live for herself and that was great, it was sort of a redemption arc. When Joe comes into the story you'll start to think you understand where this is going for, Madoka left, Yuzu will leave with her ... Mar 25, 2021
OOOOOOOOOOO I am HEATED!!!!! I will write two reviews one without spoilers and one with. I will separate them.
NO SPOILERS: If you want a manga with solid character growth and development, a good set of plots to follow, and overall a story that makes sense? Look somewhere else. You won't find any of that here. While the subject of polygamy is taboo pretty much everywhere i feel like to approach it any other way than how this manga did would have done that institution much more justice. -Koharu is the main character. She is headstrong, speaks her mind, and overall young at heart. She ... |
