The principle is the same for those two LN based manga. They are insekai through reincarnation. They are fantasy non-RPG setting working exactly like RPG for the hero, with a huge focus on gained abilities expensively listed like a shopping list along the course of the manga. It means the story follows mechanics of a RPG (more of a RTS like Warcraft 3 for Re:Monster) where the hero evolves through gained abilities and fight stronger monsters. The spider is way less OPed than the gobelin, though.

Humans born into another wold, but as different creatures. It makes an interesting and fun twist to the "born into another world" genre.

This is about male protagonists that start from the bottom, and have to work their way up to high standing. All this happening in an RPG setting.

Well as a starter both protagonist are reincarnated in a new world. While both are fantasy, Douluo Dalu is more of a martial arts manhua while Re:Monster is more of a fighting mahua, no real techniques. Both of these also have the rule of 'Survival of the Fittest' since if you are weak in their world you have to obey the strong. Both protagonist would also be called either OP or geniuses, since they get strong so incredible fast.

Transported/reincarnated in another world

Taking place in a fantasy world setting, both series appeals to an adventure with unnatural possibilities. The main male protagonist is their story are known to have strategic minds and often comes up with clever concepts. There is a considerable amount of fantasy themes and mechanics that we learn as the story progresses on. Recommended for fans especially those interested in world building and fantasy/adventure.

-Both MCs are monsters -Both MCs are strong and have strong allies -Both MCs are brutal, ruthless and are almost emotionless.

Protagonists are overpowered. They eat their defeated foes to gain even more strength. Through eating their opponents, they thrive.
reportRecommended by MagicFlier
Similar to the main character. The atmosphere is similar.

Both feature a MC who is reincarnated as a monster and has continuously gotten stronger/evolved. Though Nozomanu offers a more slow paced progression than Re: Monster.

Both main characters begin in a new world; no longer human. They both 'evolve' into other monsters.

1) Both main character are transported/reincarnated into another world 2) Both stories are set in a fantasy world 3) Both main character can steal the abilities or skills of his enemies 4) Both main character life in "the hell" (for a short time in the case of Seiichi) 5) Both main character start as the weakest class 6) Both main character become the strongest in the world (almost a god)

Both Focus on making an army of monsters (kinda in this case) and both MCs are treaded by humans as a monster.

- MC starts out from the bottom in another world (farmer/weak goblin) - Incorporates level grinding RPG elements (gaining experience/skill points) - Both seem to be wish fulfillment MC's

Both have similar type of plot, and that their main character have pretty much the same ability of consuming things to make themselves stronger. I recommend reading both if you have the time.

Isekai, eat things to get skills and powers, become OP. Be reincarnated as a monster and use former knowledge to advance civilization.
reportRecommended by Curls_of_Blue
OP MC that still finds real challenges for self. In Dungeon Seeker, the MC is challenged more than in Re:Monster. MC not afraid to kill people. Difference: Dungeon Seeker is not a Harem.
reportRecommended by Curls_of_Blue
Similar settings, and the main protagonist is breaking all the rules of how fast they gain power. The twist of this one is that he is not human.

Re:Monster and isekai, both main characters got transported to another world, funny, thrilling manga, i recommend for all

1) Both main character die and are reincarnated in another world 2) Both stories are set in a fantasy world 3) Both main character have a "cool" past, were secret agent in his previous life 4) Both main character are genious among his contemporaries 5) Both main character are the strongest in the world
reportRecommended by Kiakrre
Both have a theme of evolving in a game-like fashion. While Toaru Ossan no VRMMO Katsudouki the man is actually playing, re:monster is a sort of alt-reality. Both are more focused on the MC rather than the other characters and both MCs are pretty smart.

Toukyou Hatsu Isekai Yuki is a collection of short stories, the first of which is which I would recommend. It leans heavier toward humor but both involve reincarnated protagonists who start at the bottom of an rpg type world and are trying to work their way up from that.

Each of them is an awesome story about a reincarnated guy in a fantasy world having kept his past life's memories and living his second chance to its fullest. If you like one of them, you HAVE to read the other.

Both manga has an MC who were once human and got reincarnated into a monster class. Both are very strong and created a tribe/village of monsters. The only different are the age of the MC and the species they reincarnated into.

When a person died by someone with a knife and stabbing him on the chest repeatedly and then get reincarnated in a different world still retaining their previous life and using that knowledge for this new world they now live in both manga are very good to read I recommend both if you haven't

Similar fantasy settings and "level upgrades"

Both main Characters are reincarnated into a new world while retaining their memories. This allows them to appear as geniuses and impress everyone. Both also have magical creatures, magic and lots of RPG elements. While Re:Monster is more like a RPG game, where they can level up their abilities and evolve into new classes, in Mushoku Tensei they have to train/learn their skills.

Very similiar artstyle, also characters resemble eachother. The similar is that both have powers and character development.

Dark Fantasy filled with tragic deaths and rape, Adventures trying there very best to survive the horror of the goblin monsteres lurking deep in the dark caves.
reportRecommended by TheRogueMage
The premise of the stories is that the main characters starts anew in a fantasy based setting. In Re:monster the protagonist starts straight from the beginning at the age of birth. With Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu - Outo no Ichinichi-hen, the protagonist starts in the middle. With Instead more of a bigger theme on trial and error. Of course given their circumstances, the two stories main protagonist takes advantage of the given opportunity to achieve their goals.

Both manga are a high fantasy where the MC is very intelligent, meticulous and overpowered. The setting and pacing give the two a similar feeling, overall. Re:Monster is about an intelligent goblin who is able to gain abilities by eating other creatures or objects. He works toward his own and his people's betterment. Unfortunately, at this point, the thing they have most in common is that there isn't enough of either.

travel to a different world gain new skills they start off as weak characters but eventually learn how to fight like bad asses

In Re:Monster a normal guy dies and gets transported to another world, starts as a weak goblin. Over time gains levels, new abilities from the monsters he kills and changes class. Solo Leveling a normal guy nearly dies, after that starts a new life with new abilities like leveling and absorbing skills from others. Would recommend both.
reportRecommended by Sekobro
Both have evolutionary path plot points, with the MCs choosing paths that make them similar to humans. Skills and leveling are very similar.
