Recommendations

Deftly written psychological dramas about teens going through harrowing trauma. Both have a fixation with a particularly torny subject, although Hibari no Asa handles it much better. Featuring characters exhibiting horrible moral decay.

-SPOILERS FOR SATOUGASHI NO DANGAN WA- Sexual abuse, both show the ways that people go through having their bodies stolen from them. A Lollypop or a Bullet is more of an outside perspective but that makes it all the more meaningful when it comes together, Hibari no Asa is through the eyes of that little girl. Two little girls dealing with the same trauma in different ways. Safe to say both made me cry really hard

Both are about the consequences of the bystander choosing not to intervene to protect themselves.

The body as an object of desire, perceptions/assumptions of the people around, and mental health.
