Both series has a similar feeling that deals with a realistic and dangerous job that often puts the main characters' lives at risk. Both series' main protagonist are cunning and often plans their moves ahead in order to accomplish tasks assigned. The tasks are sometimes considered controversial and not legal by public standards. Of course, they do come with great rewards. Both series has action, drama, and gives off a seinen feeling.

The premise might be different but their style is similar. Characters involved in their perspective stories have violent pasts that made them whom they are in the present. Yet, they seek to live their new life with goals to fulfill. There is a lot of action present in both series, mostly involving with firearms. The characters are exceptionally skilled at using such firearms during missions/tasks that they do on a daily basis. Expect violence, revenge, and secrets that unfold as their stories ties in together characters collectively to formulate something to talk about.
