Overall, Psyren is an excellent manga that is definitely worth reading. Its combination of compelling characters, exciting action, and fascinating world-building make it a standout in the genre, and it's easy to see why it has gained such a devoted following among fans.

Sometimes I read an obscure manga on the off chance that it may be something interesting, and while Psyren was alright, it's far from a hidden gem. It's more like finding a penny on the ground. Sure, you got something out of it, but not much.

The story starts with an interesting mystery, and while not earth-shattering, the twists and turns are enough to keep you invested. In fact, the plot was interesting enough to keep me going to the end, and was pretty good to the end. It was cool to see how actions in one world effected the other.

The characters are the real problem. ... While some can be fun, not much comes from them in terms of actually being interesting. There were one or two that felt like they had some depth, but many characters are just there. Some characters are even shafted for a good amount of the story, which could've been a good decision if the story was longer, but given it's length, main characters are missing for a good third of the series. The coolest part was seeing some characters changes in both worlds, but the biggest disappointment were the villains who did nothing. The main 2 were important, and a few more were too, but besides those, the villains are very weak.

The battle system had potential, but didn't do much with it. The idea of programming powers was cool, but there was no use of it besides making the main character stronger. Some people did have interesting powers, but it's never the level of even a basic shounen like Naruto.

The art is probably the worst part. It's fine, but it's so basic in terms of style that it might have been what killed the series.

While a fine series, this isn't a hidden gem. This is fine, but there are many better series to read.

I read this with some curiosity because I saw a lot of people praising it as the second Jesus of manga and thought it didn't deserve the axe even though it was 145 chapters.

After I finished reading this, I don't know what most people saw in it, but this series is pretty mediocre, almost substandard, and has an unsatisfying ending.The story and premise were interesting for the first ten chapters or so until the power system was introduced, and the plot leaned more towards the more intense battles, it became a boring read. They seemed deep and complex but were executed so poorly that I ... was too lazy to pay attention. As I said, the plot and setting were interesting but it turned out to be generic shit that was messy and disjointed, especially the second half which was complete garbage. It was like the author threw shit at the wall to see what would stick until the series ended. The characters were flat and stuck in tropes, especially the antagonists. My fucking god, they were some of the worst antagonists I've read recently. They were introduced so quickly and then left the screen and repeated without any of them being interesting or memorable at all. They're bad guys just because they have to be Hurr durr, I'll destroy the world Blah blah Blah, Oh man shut your fucking mouth already.

The art is pretty average, nothing to praise or criticize

I'm surprised it's lasted this long. I'm gonna give it a 5/10 which is very generous because I see potential in it but it needs better execution and plot/writting decision
