Kingdom and Historie are works of historical fiction that center around the rise of two monumental empires of the ancient world, Qin Dynasty China and Macedonia. Hara Yasuhisa and Iwaaki Hitoshi respectively have both interpreted the historical record in a compelling manner never short on action, intrigue, and acuity while still adhering to the confines of authenticity.

Both have a historical context. However while the focus in Historie is more on the intellect of Eumedes and the historical context, Vinland Saga focusses more on the battles, suffering and development of the main character. However if you like either one I am pretty sure you will find the other one entertaining as well :-)

Another historical Manga, both depict the life of someone who really lived.

Historical setting, badass characters, genius generals. Thankfully, the story moves quite a bit faster than it does in Historie, so make sure to check it out! Second Punic War is full of wonderful battles and larger ethanol I've but still interesting figures.

Both are about kingdoms and empires both characters started from the bottom they both become important characters in the army they belong to... historie is inspired from a real soldier in ancient Greece but there is a huge similarity to berserk compared to the other recommendations to Berserk this is the closest thing you can get

Historical manga, war, awesome strategy and a protagonist who's a brilliant tactician.

√ Calm and intelligent "side characters" main lead. They do not like the attention, they are just pursuing their interest kinda vibe. √ Both main characters are passionate and a little obsessed with their field (e.g. books and medicine). √ Both setting took place in the old days (e.g. Greece BC and Eastern Asia). √ Both manga display power hierarchy.

Historie is not about drawing and so that, but its lecture is really worth. You might read it relaxed because is a very chill history.

Although not as good, Zipang is an alternative History manga where a modern naval crew ends up in the middle of World War 2. If you enjoy history then you are sure to find all the historical references and the backdrop quite appealing.

These manga' stories are very very different, but what makes them so similar is the protagonist. If you like a really good protagonist with lots of integrity and a very abnormally strong/quick-witted mindset who also goes on many adventures then look no further. Plus both the protagonist overcame slavery and went through a bunch of stuff. Plus plus both are underrated (IMO).

Innocent and Historie are series which is illustrated on real life historical figures and both have been depicted quite beautifully. An exquisite Historical tale you can experience through innocent and historie.

A Display of amazing tacticians in both stories who are exceptional in politics and warfare, achieving deeds that makes them famous over the centuries. Both protagonists experienced a terrible up bringing which leads them to accomplishing remarkable feats in the worst conditions and immense pressure most would fail in. Both are set in a historical environment not to mention the two narratives also indulge in Drama, Action, Military, and Adventure, genre components.

Both Historie and Buddha are about the lives of an exceptional man that actually lived at some point in history. Neither series tries to make things forcibly interesting by adding weird things that clearly don't belong (like mechs and light sabers) and are interesting just by telling the story of that person.

I found that they gave me a similar feel. Both have a lot of cultural aspects and both are historical manga. However, Otoyomegatari is more focused on the relationships between the characters than Historie. I absolutely loved both of these manga, especially as they both have rather intelligent protagonists, I highly recommend both and believe if you enjoyed one you will enjoy the other.

By the same creator. Has a same setting. The characters are similar. It also features great historical figures.

Both of these tales are somewhat romanticised renditions of the lives of historical figures, but their similarities run much deeper than this: both series are more concerned with the growth of their protagonist than any epic overarching storyline. Character development is arguably the entire point of both manga (with brilliantly drawn and minutely researched exposition of course).

Both manga go into detail of military strategy and tactics and how it developed in the early days of our civilization. They both show just how much thinking went into every battle back in the days when technology was limited to the simplest tools and materials. Both manga feature realistic battles, where you won't find a loud charismatic main character leading his soldiers to victory by plot armour alone. Battles in both manga are full of struggle and uncertainty. Both manga serve as a good history lesson, the kind you would hardly find in a classrom.

Both MC's are naturally gifted with talents that help them standout and become popular with the people around them, both in good and bad ways. The Two MC's use their wits and tactics to get themselves out of dangerous situations, They also have a way to get nations to follow their lead These MC's also go through very hard life struggles losing love ones and growing up less fortunate that gives them the drive to become something more Both manga's have amazing art work and character design not to mention great Action, Adventure, Comedy, Historical elements
