Kingdom and Historie are works of historical fiction that center around the rise of two monumental empires of the ancient world, Qin Dynasty China and Macedonia. Hara Yasuhisa and Iwaaki Hitoshi respectively have both interpreted the historical record in a compelling manner never short on action, intrigue, and acuity while still adhering to the confines of authenticity.

Historie is nearly as extraordinary as Kingdom - takes place in Greek history, similar to the Warring States period in Kingdom.
Highly recommended if you're interested in adventures, state/empire unification, strategies, amazing MCs & scythian war.
Stories of low ranked servants or slaves becoming famous in a historical setting where wars erupt frequently. They have great leadership but still are loyal to someone above them in hierarchy.
*Both are bloody and contain lots of horror, especially cut up bodies, decapitation etc.
