Both series are about protagonists who use their spiritual powers to help the living and the recently deceased. Both also start off relatively lighthearted and gradually get darker in tone, though Yami no Matsuei is a lot quicker about it than Tokyo Babylon. The situation between Subaru and Seishirou turns out to have some striking similarities with the Hisoka-Muraki backstory as well. 

The same creators, and the storyline is similar. in both manga there are ghosts and spirint involed. 

They have a similar feel, dealing with tragedy and pain. 

Demons, exorcism and some pretty boys with BL vibes. Both also have quite similar artstyle. 

Both manga deal with the investigation of paranormal incidents which occur in the day to day lives of people that are unaware of the existence of ghosts and spirits. 

Both mangas are heart wrenching(prepare for tears) with an amazing story line.  

First thing--They're both made by CLAMP. If you enjoyed one, you'll enjoy the other. Both stories are dark and shows what if feels like to be betrayed, lied to or to be kept in the dark. These stories feature dark twists and turns that would leave you sympathizing for the characters. 

Tsubasa RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE is another series by CLAMP, both Subaru and Seishirou appear in Tsubasa RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE. Subaru as a vampire and Seishirou as a mysterious world traveler/hunter of Subaru. It is very interesting to see these two in a different kind of situation, anyone who enjoyed Tokyo Babylong would love Tsubasa RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE. 

another hit from CLAMP really dark, tragic with really sweet relationships and nice humor but be prepared for another sad sad sad ending! it's not as depressing as it sounds, better mention what it's about, subaru is a kind of exorcist living in tokyo with his twin sister hokuto and their friend seishiro but everyone's got a past full of dark secrets which will all eventually be revealed.  

Both manga feature dedicated specialists who work for free on supernatural cases (usually involving ghosts) in order to help those affected by those supernatural entities. Most arcs/mysteries are episodic, so if short supernatural mysteries interest you, pick this manga up! 

Both of these dark shoujo series from well-known mangaka begin very episodic, starring a teen boy with a special skill as he goes about his business and helps people. The underlying plots in both, however, are tragic, and their heroes will not be able to go through betrayal and finding their true selves unscathed. 

Clamp is a renowned group of mangaka known for their visually stunning works, complex narratives, and captivating characters. Two of their most popular creations are "X/1999" and "Tokyo Babylon", which share a connected universe and delve into deep themes of fate, tragedy, and suffering. "X/1999" and "Tokyo Babylon" are definitely worth exploring if you enjoyed one of them. It is highly recommended to start with "Tokyo Babylon". In "X/1999", a battle between the Dragons of Earth and Dragons of Heaven questions the nature of humanity and the balance between good and evil. In "Tokyo Babylon", we follow Subaru Sumeragi, an exorcist who faces supernatural cases while uncovering hidden secrets within Japanese society. Both manga are visually stunning and feature engaging characters, offering an emotionally intense and thought-provoking experience. read more 

If you're looking for a series with a similar vibe, then you might like this! Both series have a noir aesthetic + supernatural elements 

Both these manga are by Clamp, and both deal with the supernatural and paranormal while tying them into problems that encompass today's world. Tokyo Babylon is Clamp's classic manga, and considered to be one of their best, if not the best work Clamp's ever done. 

Superficially, they're highly similar - both revolve around Japanese religion as well as exorcism/demons/youkai. The art in Tactics is much more modern than that of Tokyo Babylon (considering it's about ten years newer than Tokyo Babylon) but both feature pretty boys/men in an ... ambiguous relationship. Under the surface, both also focus on the idea of 'westernization' - the decline of traditional Japanese culture as it is replaced by Western norms and values. tactics does this through it's setting - the Taishou era (think early twentieth century) while Tokyo Babylon achieves it through it's plot, and periodical reflections by the characters. Both are fairly episodic, although the characters do develop and mature as the volume count goes up. read more 

While not as severe as most yaoi (it's technically shounen ai and even then, no actual kissing or genuine affection takes place), there is a lot of flirting and brutal pain to be had in this manga. The main character is Subaru who has a pure heart and cares deeply for everyone he meets while his pursuer is an Assassin who considers everyone else to be less than objects. I just think with how twisted the characters are (especially when it follows into X) and the darkness of the series contrasts well with Caste Heaven.  

Both mangas are about mysteries solved by people with supernatural abilities. Although the plots are quite different: Secret Chaser is more episodic with the underlying mystery of Shinozaki's moon pendent and why he's a priest, while Tokyo Babylon is also episodic but has a bit more focus on the whole Subaru, Seishirou and Sakurazukamori thing, both mangas have similar art styles. This may be because the creator of Secret Chaser used to be a part of CLAMP who created Tokyo Babylon. Anyway, if you like one I think you'll definitely like the other. I'm not really sure why I find these familiar... There's just something about the two series. Maybe it's the art? Or the general atmosphere?  

Both Gohou Drug and Tokyo Babylon are excellent shounen-ai series written by CLAMP. 

Despite having a bit of a different feel to them, both series use death as a way to explore life and its fascets in an episodic way.
