Mm, I don't really mind stories that have been done before, even if they have been done better; everything in media is a simulacrum, copies without an original or, at best, with an inexact/uncertain origin. If I did I would never be able to read anything again, and I am far too word-voracious for that lmao. That being said, I do get the sentiment, somewhat. (And yeaaah I try to stay up to date but I'm missing some ~200 titles in my anime list alone...I won't even bother to update my manga list, ever, that'd require an inhuman effort.)

I agree, I agree! The 90s and early 2000s were the best epoch for animanga. I think I started to lose near-complete interest around 2016, which is a lot more recent. I still watch things from time to time (I am big on content binges) but I can hardly be arsed to update my list after I do. Not that I've ever been great at doing that, mind. ^^;

Yeaaaaaah. That was expected tbh; I called it out before the first season was even over. YOI is gonna be just as milked as SAO. As long as there are paying fans (and oh boy, are there fans willing to pay!), it isn't going to die down any time soon. :/

In recent years, I've become quite skeptic of the medium, tbh. I think anime peaked in 2008, give or take — I used to be a seasonal watcher but these days I can barely find one show worth my eyes; it's all just repetitive fanservice and overly-bright, overly-saturated animation. Or maybe I'm just getting old and cynical, lmao.

Ahah, thanks. I wrote that when I was quite winded 'cause I felt so...robbed of the time I wasted watching that steaming pile of shit. And yes, I have read Banana Fish! It's an alright series, though the resurrected hype around its anime adaptation (which, imo, is alright but only alright) has left me completely uninterested in actually watching it. ^^;
