THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
well well well
the characters definitely look interesting.
Also the setting is to my liking.
it's a little too overdramatic though or a little rushed which makes it seem a little cheap storywise.
(i haven't read the manga yet)
music is so-so.
animation lacks at some points but is quite good at other ones.

Gonna watch episode 2 for sure and probably gonna finish it since it's only 4 eps anyway, even if the drama stays this way.

I agree on this one. Didn't like the music too. Added to that Ian sounded... well... gay. Animation was pretty fine. And the ED with Mihai was 'ucking disturbing, IMO. Pretty much deserves a 3 out of 5. Next ep should be good since Badou's in it XD

Enjoyed this 1st episode. Quite interesting.
Looks like each episode will show us diferent character. Mihai is not my favourite - that's for sure.

It was as expected... very similar to the manga (no dramatic changes, which is good). Hopefully the next episodes will stay the course as these first two episodes.

Nice. Mihai is my favorite of the main 4 so I really enjoyed this and Ohtsuka Akio's voice fits him so well. Though the animation does bother me a bit.

Ditto.
I don't know why, though I think it might have partly been the animation, or maybe even the music, but I just did not enjoy this nearly as much as the manga. For some reason this was just far inferior.

Yeah, I agree. I didn't understand that either. The anime is just an adaption of the first manga Dogs which introduces the main players of Dogs: Bullets & Carnage. A little strange that they wouldn't just call it Dogs. Anyways, I'm just holding out until Haine and Naoto's episodes.

Mmm well, I'm not familiar with the manga, but after watching the anime I may give it a try.

Probably I will watch al the 4 OVAS cos they are short.

The fist ep is fine, and it was enought to give me interes to whatch the other 3.

But I realy don't se the point in relising 4 OVAS of 15 min each so I will expect that they eventualy start airing a serie with more eps and more minutes in each.
It's ok to think that this will hapen any time soon ??

WHERE ARE PEOPLE FINDING THIS I CAN'T FIND IT ANYWHERE

Anyone think this may lead to an anime of B&C? Part of me would liek that, part of me doesn't since anime studios tend to screw up monthly manga such as DOGS with alternate endings due to not having enough material.

Really liked the first episode... great setting / animation and story (so far). I too have not read the manga yet but this little 4 ep OVA might be a great intro to what seems like a good hitman themed story. If the story does turn out well I hope it is adapted to a longer series.

Second episode was subbed and I'm about to watch it right now! :)

But the ending - gosh, how disturbing. >_<

I swear before I started watching it I didn't know it's actually an adaptation of the original manga not the "bullets" (as the name implies). What a pleasant surprise that is, because IMO the first "DOGS" manga is way better than the sequel!

Anayway, it was good. The animation could've been a bit better - more stylish maybe and the action scenes could use more dynamism.
The most important is that the characters were portrayed pretty well.

I didn't think some kind of seemingly "adult and violent" show could be so mushy and half-assed. It was extremely bad scenaristically speaking too, the twists were horrible, really. Still the atmosphere and direction choices were quite good at the beginning, so I thought I'd watch some kinda cool show, but it seems like I was mistaking. I'm not speaking of the art and animation either, since both were really bad (but well, studio David isn't exactly known for its high budget shows...).

Firstly, the character design bugged me. Maybe it was the fact that everyone's face looked as if they were anorectic, but still were muscular as hell.

Though I have to say, for someone who never heard of the manga, I'm rather impressed. A bit on the short side, so everything seemed rushed, but I liked the characters. Not all goodygoody, but not bad, and that for such a short introduction...

Will watch the rest too, since it's short anyway.

How was this poor directing? Seemed like a pretty direct translation from the manga to me, with a few minor difference.

Of those deviations, the one I most take issue with is their presentation of Ian. He came across as WAY too sympathetic in the OVA.

In the manga, when he doesn't kill Mihai in the graveyard, you're completely shocked, because his portrayal up until that point has been that of a bloodthirsty lunatic. HIS EYES ARE CRAZY IN THE MANGA, something that is never once shown in the anime, where on the contrary, he's far too calm and understated.

Also, that scene of Milena dying? Weak sauce. She was naked in the original, with breasts and pubic hair exposed. Made it more lurid and disturbing. Also, the way it was presented originally...as a random flashback, before any of the other backstory, just a naked woman shot to death by this insane teenager with the vicious eyes...was far more effective than the slow, gradual build they used in the anime.

That being said, I liked the original Dogs one-shot, and this first OVA was also pretty good.

Yeah, the first OVA was good.
If I hadn't read the manga it would've been better, cuz the art in the manga is just too awesome and difficult to animate.
Mihai isn't my fav character, but he still have some good points^^
Maybe I didn't like the music, especially the ed O___O
