^^ I agree ... ;_; omg, I cried at the end, it was so damn sad...
I already though this would happen from the title: Mother returns to the Earth. We are talking about Victory gundam after all ;_;

Last 15 episodes, shit's only getting worse from here on out. Killing Uso's mother is like the beginning of Zeta Gundam, except I have an even worse feeling about this series. As much as I make fun of this series, this was a pretty damn intense episode.

Wow, that was depressing even for Victory Gundam standards. Powerful stuff though, even if the title did give it away a bit.

Poor Uso... He was carrying his mother's head, that was weird. I guess he'll be the most f*cked up Gundam pilot ever.

Yes, He'll probably lose his mind by the end of the series. Much like Kamile..

Holy crap, this was some fucked up shit. It was kinda obvious that nothing good would come out when a female is taken hostage by a mobile suit, but damn, that part with the head.

Yeah, that head really got me. Good god, if they had actually showed it on screen, well played Tomino.

This was by far the worse attempt at forced drama in the series. We already saw that carrying another mobile suit isn't impossible, so why didn't he simply pick up the wreck suite and fly away? Or that you can adjust the power output on their sabers like they did countless of times before? Or better yet, why not rip the joint off the arm with his mobile suite?

WHERE IS THE LOGIC HERE?!

It's even worse by the fact that no one will question the inner-world functionality of how this plays out. This was simply artificial victimizing to provoke a reaction from viewers to get "da feels."

I expected an Evangelion 24 as soon as the soldier took Uso's mother, but it ended uglier with this motorcycle accident. (nice scene for a Road Safety prevention clip by the way)
Too bad this interesting conclusion was made possible by a sudden change in the beam saber functions. Also, based on last episode, aren't MS (in this case, an half MS) in Victory light enough to be transported?
Side question: since when are suits able to fly high in the sky on their own for so long? (I noticed this in previous episodes but thought it was an error)

4/5 Uso is now fully "independant". Sorry, blond girl.

@St0rmblade Well, sorry but it's exactly the kind of sudden and "shocking" scenes those clips are betting on, in France at least (curious? Check "Sécurité Routière").
At one point, Anno admired Victory. Inspiration/hommage is thus highly probable.
Looks like this episode stayed in your mind: 3 post scripta over several hours. XD

Maybe not, but I have no idea how to know: the interview was made during the broadcast of Victory. We only have his opinion about it for that period.
The interview only includes one "spoiler" (for the Believers), it's about one character's last scene in the last episode.

I... I don't even know what to say.

This was way too dark even for Victory standards; Uso bringing back his mother's head still bleeding and just handing it over to Marbet was heartbreaking. I agree that the beam saber thingy felt contrived but frankly, the rest of the episode largely made up for it. I always feel bad when Uso has to witness horrible things but this time might be the first where I legit felt like tearing up. I'm still mad at Cronicle for letting all those horrible things happen under his command though, and I have to wonder why he didn't bat an eye at the Motorad squad wiping out a whole city when one hostage getting killed was enough to make him curse his senpai, but at least he made his disgust clear this episode.

I'm not sure where we're headed now but what I know for sure is that we just lost Uso for good. Also fuck Katejina for being so unjust, inconsiderate and harsh with him.

EDIT: The episode title was one huuuuge spoiler.

You know.. for "battle genius" he is quite a fckup regarding saving people. I mean... simply quick way of cutting of that robots arm and then later simply dismantling that hand at safe spot would have saved his mother... but nope.. just bork up and be a moron.

Holy mother of God was that intense! Friggin Uso.. Jesus Christ.

A couple of things did piss me off about this episode. First, maybe I'm not aware of an ethical code of the army, but this Nazi like ideology of Zanscare that, in the last couple of episodes, was MURDERING innocent people of earth and suddenly using a hostage to your advantage is a dirty tactic.. WHAT? Also Katejina has got to be one of the biggest heels in the Gundam series. Seriously, fuck her.

The part with Uso's mom dying was totally heartbreaking. I figured she would die since this is Gundam, but then I thought she might survive! And then.. just fuck me. What I did not like was Uso bringing his mothers head back with him. That to me was way too forced and seeing her pass away was enough drama. It was really overkill.

With all that said, just fucking intense episode. Uso has been so intense these last several episodes and I love it. He really is heading to a mental institution just like Kamile.

Tomino really outdid himself with that death. I suspected something wrong after seeing the title, "Mother returns to the Earth", but not this. Now I won't even be surprised if Tomino decides to kill off Karl too. Though I think Uso could do something to save his mother given that the enemy pilot seemed to be knocked out. Also Uso's mother disappeared from the enemy's hand for a second or two and reappeared in one frame before crushing (yes I'm that picky)
nice scene for a Road Safety prevention clip by the way

that's harsh xD

By the way, I still can't understand the hierarchy involving Pippiniden and Chronicle. Who has a higher rank? They seem to be switching roles from time to time.

P.S. Nobody's going to convince me that this episode was not an inspiration for Anno.

P.P.S. Was Katejina trembling at the end?

P.P.P.S. Uso's mother died without telling him anything whatsoever about his father

Too cruel, this was a shitload of bad luck.

But yeah it seems logical that it's impossible to extract a person from the mechanical machine hand grip. Even if Uso had ripped off the MS arm, the grip might have crushed the person nevertheless because of corrupt servo signal. A maintenance crew could have opened the hatch and shut the MS off, to secure the hostage.
Lets sum it up, you should never transport a person like that, it's not safe.
