The eventual culprit being the doctor of Kojiro Kuwata being led to Takao's trap from Ryuichiro's words of lies, and she and Kotori begins piecing the puzzle, piece by piece, as critical intel is referred to become the Kuwata Hospital's next successor. Furthermore, Daiki's job as a stimulants dealer only proves detrimental for his position to want to succeed as the next chairman, but Sakurai still doesn't have the smoking gun that could vindicate Seiji's arrest if the locked-room mystery is not solved, which will lead to Kotori being transferred out if the arrest goes ahead. Of course, Kotori reassures Takao that he'll be fine after being in her tutelage for 8 months, even if she doesn't solve the mystery for him to miss working with her being the unbreakable duo.

With the last rites being discovered, Takao's diagnosis of the matter all leads to one incorrect assumption...that involves a star? Upon looking at Daiki's CT scan, the Star of David causing subarachnoid hemorrhage to the already deceased, which resulted in the neurogenic pulmonary edema rushing fluids up to his lungs, it was a mystery case where there was no killer at all, just inflicted by Daiki's own medical circumstances that everyone thought that there was a killer involved. With the case closed, Kotori is able to keep his job at Takao's department, and the two will work together for the years ahead.

It's an alright show, though its chemistry of medics and mysteries leave a bit to be desired.

I mean, sure the ending felt all nice and fresh, but honestly, as a mystery, it was kinda boring since they just saved the super obvious suspect for last again... I don't know, maybe like every other shitty case in this show. No seriously, how are you going to be a "doctor detective" and spend only one case in the hospital??? And you know how that turned out? Turned out to be the only good case to come from this show.

If it had just stuck to the roots and actually be a doctor detective show and solve cases in the hospital, maybe this could've been good. But obviously it didn't, so. Not to mention the visuals after that first delay... HA. It's laughable how bad they got, especially in this last case. A complete difference from the OP and ED, which are probably the best visually this season. A shame they were wasted on such a show.

All in all, just watch Apothecary Diaries man, lmao.

The End. Once again, Takao did a good job.

This was mostly an average show, but it had its moments. For me, all that detective work was more or less boring.

Kenta's case was obviously the most interesting one.

The conclusion of this bizarre locked room case. Takao went detective mode here, which is impressive. She fought this case without violence and did it with her brains and skills. Some of that looked superhuman imo.

A fine anime overall, felt like this case wasn't as interesting as some of the pervious but overall still satisfying.

Ah I’m gonna miss takao so fucking much man I loved this show. Great conclusion to the locked room drowning case! This episode is exactly what made this series so interesting. It never let you get comfortable and whenever you think you have something figured out, it humbles the hell out of you!

I was so ready to type up an essay on how Kuwata Kojiro was a pos willing to set his nephew up to die and plant drugs on his brother to get that chairman position out of jealousy. Turns out, like most things in life it wasn’t that simple. Just because someone’s a drug addict doesn’t mean they want to kill their family or are evil. Kojiro had his issues, but he wasn’t a bad person. Genuinely just panicked when he saw his nephew unconscious. Doesn’t matter how much medical experience you have, we all are human and can make mistakes like that.

Even Takao was stumped after the police ruled him out from being the murderer tho. I didn’t know where this story would go from there, but again it’s Kotori, the unsung hero of this series who comes up with what ended solving the case. Just a passing remark to Takao is all it took to blow the case wide open! They’re the best team. We were all looking in the wrong direction, projecting what we wanted to have happened on this case. There was no murder!

I never heard of SAH or a pulmonary ebema before but man they sound like horrible ways to go out. Daiki may have been a delinquent but he didn’t deserve to die and it’s unfortunate things went that way, but I’m glad they got to the bottom of this case. The Kuwata family should’ve come together sooner, and sadly it’s often tragic incidents like this that bring family back together.

😭the way I was about to have a breakdown if they actually split up Kotori and Takao, cmon now you know we can’t let this duo go. Takao is such a tsun tsun for that recommendation to keep Kotori on lol. Love her. “I’ll continue mentoring you until you become a top notch diagnostician like me” ahhh that’s the closest we’re gonna get to a confession with this girl but I’ll take it lol. I need to read to see where it goes from here. Enjoyed this one a lot!! Great ending.

Headbutts are scarier than I thought, and not even to their victims.

A perfectly fine detective show with a medical twist that I wish leaned harder on that aspect more. Just hope Kotori's car and Mai's bike can finally find peace.

Differences that only their fellow peers would have noticed. There's a reason why locked room mysteries are so tricky to unlock. Despite her antics Takao was a great teacher to Takanashi. Sah being the culprit this time quite the surprise. Im glad that in the end the mystery was solved and that Takanashi can remain by Takao's side.

I only predict the first half of the case, my mistake is that I think this is a murder case, turns out it's not.

My favorite character is the police detective Ryūya Naruse, he's dumbest in the group but I love his serious look.

Detective story, especially "whodunit", is my favorite genre. But I still don't like how someone must be killed to make a story interesting. And the detective club in shool setting that only solve trivial case is not excite as I want.

A good anime with an investigative touch and some supernatural elements. Takao-sensei was a good protagonist, even though her design makes her look like a little girl. The characters were okay, but the one who stood out the most among the side characters was Takahashi, aka "Little Bird" (Kotori) lol. At first, I thought there would be some romance between them, but there wasn’t. The ending was good, wrapping up the season well—I didn’t even suspect the doctor, so I was wrong 😅😂. I wonder if we’ll get a season 2 in the future? I’d watch it. Rating: 7.5.

And with that... Mini Doc has ended. Remember: She's Sherlock, not House.

I liked it. But I liked more the doctors on YouTube reacting to it. It is so fun to watch with doctors actually explaining all the jargon and their experiences. The thing with methylene blue was quite popular.

Yes! it was the uncle! A medical professional checking pulse and breathing in such a rookie way...
Not only did he anonymously told on Seiji to prevent him from becoming chairman, he was taking stimulants dealt by his other nephew. The chairman's vomiting was because his brother spiked his drink with stimulants.

Unfortunately, he knows nothing about how Daiki actually drowned in a dry locked room, which means Seiji is still the prime suspect and Takanashi will be transferred.

This Holmes needs her Watson. But just like Takanashi said, we also saw Takao mature in the arc before this.

After Takanashi and Takao mentally prepared themselves for his transfer, they realize that Seiji could not have gotten that cut with a mere punch. Takanashi spotted something Takao missed and that allowed Takao to make her diagnosis. She's brilliant but not all-knowing.

There was no killer...the headbutt inflicted by Daiki on Seiji caused Daiki to have a hemorrhage, subsequently, his body produced the water.

With that Takanashi can stay, and perhaps for more years to come thanks to Takao's request.

Yep had a feeling this was gonna go with the cliche locked room mystery conclusion. This had an interesting concept and the cases seemed interesting at first glanced but weren't well thought out and very surface level stuff. Atleast the main characters were amusing.

This was one wild ride. I really enjoyed the many mysteries Ameku M.D had in store for us. Takao and Kotori's little shenanigans were so funny.

It's sad that we probably won't get a 2nd season, this seemed like it was just made as promotional material for the source.

I ended up liking this more than I expected. On the roof of a hospital sits a small, charming house—and inside is a tiny but brilliant investigative pathology director. In a way, the show itself is like that little house: unassuming yet full of warmth. I really enjoyed it. A couple of episodes, particularly those involving a child’s death, will stay with me for a long time—as they should.

Well, my prediction was right in a twisted way. There wasn't an actual murder, per se. Just two hard heads by the two brothers & one corrupt doctor. Ok, I guess that finishes my Winter Season off. Good by Taoko Sensei.

A remarkably pleasant resolution for the final and most interesting mystery case in the anime.

But now I'm really curious about the original novels and the cases that were adapted in the TV anime. I know that the angel case is from the second novel and the final locker room case is from the third novel, but what about the rest? Did the anime staff skip some other earlier, maybe minor, cases in favor of the ones we saw animated?

In the end Koujirou was the culprit as I expected, well more or less since he didn't kill Daiki. I liked that his death was from a stroke that was interesting.

But unfortunately this anime was not what I expected, I'm a fan of medical drama series, obviously I didn't expect a Dr house but this was more of a crime drama, there was no need for Takao to be a doctor, the story wouldn't have changed.

Only one episode in which they were entirely dedicated to diagnosing the sisters with epilepsy but then it was a lot of murders (I don't count the leukemia kid since there was nothing to diagnose); and not counting the quality drops, well at least it was somewhat entertaining.

I'm surprised this show is quite good.

Learned some medical conditions because of it. Unlike Detective Conan with its bullshit tricks, all the tricks in this anime can be explained logically.

Apparently the author is a real life doctor, no wonder they can make the cases interesting.

I hope they make another season.

She needs to be a doctor, specialized in pathology to be exact. If she's a kid with tranquilizer watch loitering around the crime scene, it would be weird.

Very good, both the ending episode and the series!

Dr. Kotori and Dr. Takao's partnership is amusing and neat. Who expected their partnership to become a romantic relationship should pay attention to the petite physician -- Dr. Kid has shown emotional and social limitations, unrelated of her being an amazing professional. Dr. Takao may take a dilated time to see Dr. Kotori in a different way...

Not expecting but wishing for a second season, because I expect more from Dr. Kotori and Dr. Takao.

I suspected the fluid came from within the body, but wasn't sure how. I did pick up on the whole "hitting while holding with both hands" thing earlier but didn't think too deeply about it. Conveniently, the child protagonist who knows everything didn't know as much about punching as Kotori and required his help to trigger her cringe air-finger-painting animation sequence.

Anyway, dumb show with dumb characters, dumb mysteries, and an insufferable protagonist. I didn't get bored though, so I think it's a 4/10.

Easily the worst show of the season jesus christ. It had some charm at first but not even much at that. Even though there are some cool ideas that connect to real life i just couldn't care about the detective stuff at all.

Takao didn’t fit the story and that burning shed episode was so bad it almost made me quit halfway... though that one case thing in the hospital was good ig

I feel like this show can't rise above a 6 or 7 out of 10 for me, though I have enjoyed watching it.

Most of the characters besides Takao feel pretty underdeveloped, meaning she has fewer opportunities to play off them in interesting ways; great characters usually come in groups, I think. The episode about the kid with cancer was probably the best because it extracted the most out of our characters and dealt with the unique difficulties of being a doctor as opposed to just a detective.

The mysteries themselves were interesting enough, but it's also not that interesting when the solution relies on obscure medical knowledge. In my opinion, the most interesting mysteries are those in which the puzzle pieces are visible to the audience, but it takes the detective to put them together. It makes the audience go, "Why didn't I think of that?" Also, I know this is totally subjective, but do we really need Takao having a Jimmy Neutron brain blast every time to signal the mystery was solved?

Overall, perfectly watchable but not much more.

All-in-all, I think this was this season's best anime alongside Sakamoto Days. Too bad the animation quality was hit-or-miss most of the time and that it ended like 3 weeks late because of delays.

Sincerely hope we get to see a continuation to this, although I doubt that's gonna be possible. Nevertheless, I truly liked cute autistic anime girl House M.D.

I enjoyed this one. I really liked Takao's character. The relationship she has with her Watson (Kotori) had some nice moments, but really didn't get going until the end of the season. It would be nice to see that continue to develop. I would watch a sequel if we ever get one.

This animation was hit or miss all season and the art style was nothing special. There were some really goofy moments, like the burning building/motorcycle scene, but overall it was quite fun.

The medical aspect of the mysteries were interesting. I knew of a few of the conditions, but mostly all new to me. I'm not really advanced enough in medical knowledge to know how accurate a lot of the stuff was. I did research a couple of the explanations and had a good time learning some knew things. The actual cases of, "spontaneous combustion," for example. That was interesting to look into.

The OP was an absolute banger and my #1 for the whole anime season. Overall, I really enjoyed it despite the flaws. I gave it...

At the expense of the main characters this is a 7. The cases range from very good to why is so, and it's not just about the detective part, but the medical part as well. The second season is unlikely, but overall if it came out I would watch it.

Feels like people for some reason seem to think the "doctor" part of doctor detective means she's meant to solve mysteries that exclusively take place in a hospital setting. I think her being a detective with a plethora of medical knowledge fits the bill perfectly enough. IMO the mystery with the little kids in the hospital was the most boring one, and all the other ones had me captivated. I just wish the animation quality was better.

I'm pretty sure that whatever the victim was coughing up wasn't water... The problem will be how to prove it. Could be a massive fluid build-up in the lungs, but I somehow doubt that the fluid can shoot out like a fountain during CPR.

CALLED IT.

Still, kind of surprising that human body can produce that much water in the span of minutes.

The most plausible and interesting case out of them all. There were multiple layers, and nothing was glaringly dumb or obvious.

The overall show was deeply frustrating, however. The only praise I can give it is that it at least tried to be a medical show (sometimes), and that Dr. Takao got a little bit of characterization. Oh, and the OP and ED were decent. Everything else was awkward, nonsensical or flat-out broken.

One thing that's been bothering me is how freely Kotori has been able to move between specialties. Its unheard of and not allowed since doctors have specialties. He went from surgery (5 years), to general medicine, now pathology, and almost back to general. I don't understand why there's a house on the hospital.

I wasn't too fond of this one when I first started watching it, but I ended up being pleasantly surprised! I wish less time was spent with the detective work at the start, but it definitely improved. The Kenta arc hurt and was unexpected. I didn't think this anime would cover serious topics like that.

I wish she was nicer to Kotori and paid for the car and motorcycles lol

This was fun! 7/10 for me tbh

This is one of those shows that I want to like more than I actually did. I like the cast, I like the setting, I even like some of the setups, but it felt like they didn't have a clear throughline. That last arc did NOT need to be three episodes(!), and it wasn't even the most compelling one(that was probably the kid with the sadistic mother).

I wouldn't mind it getting a season 2 with a stronger focus on more compelling plots, or even something escalating to a big incident like Trauma Team's diagnostician missions(easily the best part of the game). Ameku was a fun character who deserves better mysteries, and better writing.

What I don't understand is why the old doctor needed to buy street drugs from his nephew. I'm guessing it was crystal meth? Couldn't he just write a prescription for his nephew but secretly take it himself, or raid the hospital's pharmacy? Was it because he was a cardiologist so he could only prescribe certain medications related to the heart (just guessing here, I have no idea how their medical system works)? It was also a stupid and futile attempt to swallow the drugs after his scheme was exposed, because they'd still find it in his urine, just like the way he originally intended on framing his brother chairman. At any rate, he sabotaged his whole career by trying to get rid of his brother and nephew...I wonder if he himself has any kids, because he seems way too old to not have an heir, if he was trying to oust his brother's family line by framing them with illegal street drugs.

Ah, so delinquent drug-dealer died from the a self-inflicted traumatic brain injury...Looks like headbutts are a double-edged sword that can easily result in your own death. Depending on how the impact landed, the younger brother could have also risked being the same boat as the older delinquent brother with a one-way trip to the afterlife.

How ironic that in trying to protect his son from the possibility of being a murderer by cremating the body of his eldest son instead of letting the autopsy happen, the only thing he did was put an even bigger target on his innocent second son.

Overall a pretty good series. I enjoying learning a little bit about about the medical info in an interesting brain-teaser way with the murder-mysteries. I hope it gets a second season.

As a scientist myself (and a forensic scientist at that) I appreciated the fact this show went into subjects that rarely get explored in the anime medium; the medical and forensic aspects were enjoyable.

Not a perfect show, but a sold 4/5. As with many shows this season I doubt there will be a season 2, but if the show comes back, I'm definitely watching. Furthermore, in an era where almost all anime goes the fantasy and/or sci fi route, its quite enjoyable and refreshing to see a show in "the real world" instead

overall pretty solid anime, 7/10.

Anyone is a lttile dissapointment that they quickly glossed over the fact that the younger brother was having an affiar with that other female doctor? Ik he was the homewrecker (if you can call it that cus nothing is really shown) and really everyone was more concerned about him being charged with murdered, but it felt weird we just moved on quickly that man was having an affair.
